My guess is that huge structure is a modular component for the refinery they're building in your area. Looks like a collection of what's called "pipe bridges" which would go between the bigger units. Hello friend. I was thinking refinery as well but if they were going directly to our local refineries, they wouldn't need to leave Corpus Christi Bay. They were headed outward bound. Could be the basis for part of a bigger unit that is being worked on someplace else. I need to check the South jetty newspaper. They usually have full stories when items like that pass by.
It’s called a module, and is probably going to the LNG facility over there. Back in the day all this would be built on site, now they put together like puzzle pieces!!! With cheap Labor!!! World class bolt up hands!!

I gather it’s something to do with oil drilling or the like. Maybe my brother will know he works in the gulf doing Oceaneering, he operated equipment that goes down and inspects pipelines along the ocean floor.

Good morning Frank. I have a friend that did some of the welding on that project. Apparently it's built in sections in Ingleside and then shipped off to the next place for assembly and additional work. Sometimes South Korea. Sometimes turkey. Pretty impressive.
@frankmutz3048 I don't know if you remember the free oil rigs that were stored for years right by the ferry. All three were eventually hold off the turkey for scrap metal oddly enough they don't involve any of their decisions. 👍😀👍
@@frankmutz3048 I have videos on it. They used the large tugboats to haul them out to the open water, where apparently they were tethered to larger boats out in the open sea. One of them was stuck and had four failed attempts to get it out of the muck. I do miss those because you could see them from Rockport.
