One of my favorite spots. I take the ferry over and in the late afternoon when the ferries are way too crowded I drive down the Island to Corpus Christi a great drive and a great way to end the day. Got my PB Red Drum at Robert's Point Park.

@@thesouthwes when I lived in Texas I took 2 trips a year there. Started going in 2007. Loved every trip. Caught my PB black drum and PB Redfish off the Coast Guard pier
Matter fact I think the best fishing is during the fall and stuff and more in spring break since it’s really cheap had fishing in spring break because we just got back today June 20 him and I’ll be cut down there was hardheads
I need to! I had no idea that the trout would be biting so good in there. I’ve never throw artificial shrimp under a popping cork, so it didn’t even cross my mind
If you're using a bait and not lures, there's a simple trick you can do and you'll never get hung up again. Cut the lid of a tin can off and poke 2 holes in it - like at north and south positions. Tie a snap swivel to the end of your line. You'll rig up a seperate line that has your sinker and your hook - in whichever way you like or depending on what you're trying to catch, hook at the very end and sinker up higher on the line or vice-versa, then have a shirt amount of line and tie another snap swivel on the line. You'll snap the swivels into each hole of the lid. Cast as usual. When you are reeling in your line, and you know the rocks are coming up - reel reel reel real fast! The lid acts as a LIFT and will raise your line up and over all the rocks. As long as you reel fast enough to get the lift - you'll not have your sinker and hook dragging in the rocks. Cheap and easy way to save your tackle!

Love all the Port A jetties. Always a fun time fishing there
Port A is awesome! I’m glad I took the chance one day and planned a fishing trip down there!

Where is the exact small jetty you were fishing I will be there this weekend.
Where exactly is this? I’m going this weekend with my daughter and love this set up.
I thought the min length was 15” with a max of 20” ? Is there another limit for being inside the park?
I have to get back down to the coast soon. Its been over a year 😭
I’m itching to get down there again! I think the flounder are stacked up down there right now

Damn you really did say “spic” @10:25
“Speck” as in speckled trout
I know where your secret jetty is. I'm going to try it next time I'm there. 😊😊

What is the best time of year for trout jetty fishing?
Try a voodoo shrimp under a popping cork next time.
