I was legit shocked at how seamless the 4K 60 recording on the rear cameras are on the Pixel 7 Pro. Just need to add the ability to switch to the selfie and they will be the best
🙌 hell to the yes mate. That slightly janky lens handover is an easy fix as well. We'll impressed they'd quietly slipped this in where others can't, not even Apple! Cheers for watching mate, appreciate 💪💪🏿
thanks for the review and for showing the full video quality. I have to say there's a horrible amount of noise in all the rear cameras in daylight, which i don't see in my iPhone 14 Pro or any of the S23 U reviews (certainly not in my old Note20 Ultra)
There's this weird pulsation in the middle of the frame (say, around 3:15 ), almost as if the auto exposure couldn't make up its mind; but its not that, because the bottom of the frame (the path, closer) _isn't_ pulsating - _its_ exposure is steady, and well-judged. I'm guessing it's some processing algorithm trying to match the sky's exposure to the rest of the image... It's also visible at 5:30 in the trees at the far right.
Hey Dave it's time for an upgrade to this phone after watching your videos as Google has left making budget quality phones to proper flagship phone! 4k at 60 was impressive and it shows here. Looked pretty realistic and I enjoyed the scenery as well. I'm surprised you haven't done ultimate video test on Huawei p40pro and some shots too. Star trails with Huawei p40pro should be great as I haven't tried that yet. Some mobile stores like 02 and others don't do Pixel any more as my local 02 store don't even do oneplus phones any more. Take care mate!
Hello, thanks for stopping by 👋 it was fixed a little but it's not entirely avoidable on any smartphone I've used with an optical zoom lens. Happy New Year to you too 🎊
Wow, never seen this quality video from other reviewers , guess cause they were comparing 2 or 3 other phones at the same time and never saw any country side like this ... I'm gonna wait and see what deals Samsung's has after the Feb 1 launch , if it's not as good as the price of the Pixel , I'll be getting one .
Have to give these devices a fair test at the end of the day! I just press record and let the phone do all the work..also helps having this wonderful scenery on our doorstep 😃 appreciate you watching the video, thank you 👍
Hey! Great video! I'm having a dilemma, I can choose between P7P , iphone 14+ S22+ ... I love doing videos, taking pictures...what would your opinion be? Thanks so much! Subbed!
The Pixel 7 Pro will be perfect for what you need. Loads of flexibility with the lenses and a great all rounder for pretty much any situation, regardless of lighting conditions 👍
dam..... i have the SAME FKN dilemma..... I can save 200 on s22u vs p7p or an ip14 pro...... cant decide.. I like 960 fps on samsung, but the "green" hue is a little off kicker... i phone.... need an apple ecosystem to enjoy all of it, and lookslike p7p is the winner.... but still
You can't go wrong with the Pixel 7 Pro or S22U. If you want the extra reach on zoom, the S22U is a wonderfully flexible device which can pretty much do it all. Ignore the Exynos prejudice, it's really not as bad as some make out 👍
Hello..unless specifically stated regarding a gimbal, I always use my Joby Gorilla Pod just to keep the phone at arms length. I'm getting on a bit now and the old arthritis is kicking in, so I can't hold the phone's comfortably anymore 😂
Hello. It isn’t but now I’ve watched it back you can see noise in the shadowy areas. It isn’t perfect to be fair but this is still way ahead of Pixels from past years. Thanks for watching 👍
No need for a Gimbal 😁 I just use a Joby Gorilla Pod to keep the phone at arms length but it doesn't offer the phone any more stabilisation. Everything you see is being done by the phone 👍
I don't have the phone any more in afraid. I do know it was improved slightly but due to the limitations of the hardware, there was still some grain. This has since been addressed in the Pixel 8 and 9 Pro 👍
Hmmm good question. OnePlus were able to get 4K Portrait Video out of the OnePlus 8 Pro when it was in beta and that was running on a 2 year old Snapdragon 865 chipset. So I can't see why Google can't get 4K Cinematic Mode out of the brand new Tensor G2. Appreciate the kind feedback, thank you 🙌
Is the all lense switch same for the non pro pixel 7? Also - is it better to record the video in HDR or without it when I'm planning to edit the footage and play it mainly on non HDR displays - I'm testing iPhone 13 and I'm not sure whether I should have the HDR video on or off. Cheers
I believe it is the same for the standard Pixel 7 👍 For general use it's always best to use SDR video, especially when it comes to editing as HDR takes an age to upload to RUclips! For your iPhone, I would just leave it in SDR. Its still fantastic quality IMO.
Hi are you facing heating issue while doing 4K 60 recording? I have heard from many users they can't record beyond 4K 60 more than 10 min and the camera shuts down by itself or performance gets reduced until the phone cools down.
Never had any issues personally but I do know what you are talking about. Bear in mind it was a fairly overcast and cool day when I recorded this so that’s likely to have helped. Appreciate you watching the video. Thank you 👍
Still images, yes. Video recording, no. But as a phone overall, I'd say both are equal in terms of user experience. But that obviously depends on how invested you are in the operating system. If you're not too bothered either way, the iPhone 14 is a great all rounder 👍 The Pixel feels a bit unfinished at the moment.
This was early days software so I don’t think it’s a capability issue. There’s been a fair few updates since which have improved things so all good. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi there 👋 no this is all done using a Joby Gorilla Pod to help keep the phone safe and at arms length..all the stabilisation you're seeing is done by the Pixel 👍
This will be perfect for recording your son's rugby matches 👍 the 60fps video is really good quality, especially when using the zoom lenses which are perfect for getting close to the action. Hope this helps!
@@DaveWestMedia Thank you. Your video was very helpful. Going to return the Sony Xperia 1 iii for Pixel 7 Pro. The Xperia can't even do 4k 60fps in its main camera app. Unacceptable. Plus it's missed some crucial focus when it had a lock on eye focus as well as some unacceptable night shots when time counts, and my old LG G7 would have pulled off those shots no issue.
@@DaveWestMedia hi Dave, great video as always! On storage space, how many GB/min does the 4k footage use up? Could be an issue with no expandable storage. Cheers
Hello 🙋♂️ appreciate the kind feedback, thank you 🙌 1 minute of 4K60 takes around 500mb of storage. So if you're planning to record lots of video the 256GB option is a must!!
@@DaveWestMedia it is impressive, if we ignore the wind, which is normal. If the RUclips compression does not cause a delusion, I can say, it is same level of iPhone 14 Pro, from what I heard in your videos
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL most models 9 are better than iPhones, faster RAM then iPhone and HDR10 120Hz thank you I will get Google because has also SD card slot to save pictures, videos and more. iPhones can't do that and you have to pay for everything which is not good.
Doesn't seem smooth to me. There are many stutters and judder. Never mind. I watched the video in brave and now in edge. It seems chromium has bad youtube video.
I'd say the S24 Ultra has the edge in overall flexibility for photos and videos but for software experience day to day, the Pixel is easier to live with IMO..I'm not a huge fan of One UI personally but you really can't go wrong with either - both brilliant phones 👌

Can we make potrait videos in selfie camera plz reply 😊
why the background is blur ?.. I don't like that because when you go out you want to have all the beautiful view clear in frame
Just how the lens is formed. For less background blur use the ultra wide lens as the depth of field is much shallower 👍
Are you holding the phone by hand or using a gimbal? If by hand, then I'm amazed how far the stabilization has improved in phone cameras these days.
Hello..unless specifically stated regarding a gimbal, I always use my Joby Gorilla Pod just to keep the phone at arms length. I'm getting on a bit now and the old arthritis is kicking in, so I can't hold the phone's comfortably anymore 😂
