I love the "Marvin the Lizard" story. I relate to all parties here: The Service Rep looking to reassure customers, the customer looking out for the cashier and Lizard, The bored cashier who needs more Marvin in her life and Marvin, who just wants to smell the coffee. Come to think of it, can Lizards smell? It might only be the machine's heat, but I'm always up for a creature feature, if anyone knows the nuances of lizard senses.

No joke, the Walmart one reminded me how my parents would take us to Target or Walmart for fun.
To give some context, we didn't have a lot of stores around where I grew up, so some weekends, my parents would take us to a shopping plaza away from where we grew up. Going to Walmart was actually a pretty big deal.
I lost my mind when i saw an escalator for the first time treated that shit like it was a rollarcoaster lol also grew up in a small town

So, in reference to the Spenser’s bit. I was working at a craft store near me and we ask if people want to sign up for the rewards program and ask for phone number and email address. This elderly lady said “ I don’t give out my phone number, too many scammers call me already, can I just use my social security number instead?” I responded with “absolutely not ma’am, you need to keep that info safe.” She said, “my husband used to say that to me but he is gone. It’s a number I never us anyway, I don’t care if they call it.” I responded with “dear, that is essentially your identity as far as the government is concerned. Giving that number out is how you will get your identity stolen. Please keep that number more protected than your phone number.” She said “oh damn” and walked off

The "folded" (or spindled or mutilated) door reminded me of a move I made many years ago. The person from the moving company who came to my home to give me an estimate instructed me to remove the glass door from my stereo stand and pack it a specific way. I complied. When my furniture was delivered on the other end, the first words out of the driver's mouth were, |I need to tell you that your stereo door did not arrive here in one piece". I had a real, honest-to-goodness Homer Simpson moment at the news: D'OH"!

In case you were wondering, fast food and retail workers in the US typically make minimum wage, and they don't usually get benefits. I worked 60+ hours per week at Chipotle and I made 8.25 per hour, no benefits :)

My local supermarket has a refill station. We can refill our laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, fabric softener, I think they will be getting more products and brands…
Why does it say 3 views when there are literally 43 comments, I know 40 people didn't come here and comment without watching Charlotte. That's impossible.
You probably clicked as the fourth one on the video. Then you actualized the comments. That would explain it. Hope that helps

When I worked at Days Inn they bought Windex by the case. I didn't like using Windex, so when my bottle was empty, I would refill it with diluted Simple Green. I could refill it dozens of times before the sprayer would get gummed up, and I had to replace it. I let the housekeepers know that I needed a few empty Windex bottles for my Simple green refills, and even after most of the housekeepers switched to diluted Simple Green this worked well because some of them continued to use Windex.
When you said “I’m gonna go and stare at naked man now” my friend rang me so I didn’t hear you say he had a dog. Imagine my face when the next thing I hear you say is “all I can see is butthole” 🤣
Idk about everywhere. But I’ve noticed that yes MD’s does pay more but they rarely offer 40 hours a week…

Okay, the windex refills use way less plastic, though 😂 I’ve seen them in the store, they’re these tiny little bottles of concentrate that you water down in a spray bottle at home.

When I was a teenager, I worked at McDonald's, Long John Silver's, Arby's, and Wendy's (not at the same time).
Arby's was the only job where the employees never stole food.
Never.
Hi Charlotte, there are actually I think 5 ZERO WASTE stores in Canada, well there's five in Victoria so there may be more spread throughout the provinces. They carry everything from cleaning supplies, toiletries & food all sold in bulk which you bring your own containers for. They have take a jar leave a jar programs & some do online orders & deliveries on certain days of the wk. Zero waste emporium for example charges a $4 packing fee & $8 delivery fee so a total of $12 which is not bad. I do believe you must become a store member at most of these places but from what I hear it is absolutely worth it for both the extremely reduced waste & & price. Buying in bulk allows you to buy only what you need so if you're trying a new recipe that calls for a crazy expensive ingredient you're only using once you don't need to spend the money for a full container. It also allows you to try new products to see which you like best by only buying a sample amount to start. I live in the states & we have very few here but Trader Joe's is doing their best.

These were so funny, thanks! Also I love spying on my neighbors too! There’s a crazy guy across the street who never wears a shirt and is always yelling at the other crazy guy next to him. This other crazy guy is always yelling at his dogs. I think it’s a yelling conga line.
How do you bend a door?
I worked in the USPS for a couple winters (temp hire for Xmas rush). No one flipping cares about preserving what's being mailed unless legally required to (aka, live animals get treated with care) because it's all about sorting mail into the appropriate bins as fast as possible. So no one will think twice about throwing the door into a bin or cargo bay with a big void under it and piling so much other stuff on top that the door caves in to the weight.
Ain't nothing like a good laugh Charlotte to take one who is in a dark place in life.

I just recently found out that in bigger stores you can actually refill cleaning products into your own bottles(EU). It's amazing and only costs a euro more then the products in general sales. The biggest PLUS is you know you are helping the earth.

Back in the before windex or whatever blue juice window cleaner.As a pup i remember my mother cleaning windows with vinegar and a newspaper.The ink on the newspaper does something chemical reaction with vinigar and man you get a clear shiny window.

I work at a natural foods market and we sell cleaner, dishsoap, and laundry soap in bulk where people can bring the own containers and fill them up. Except right now, because of Covid. But we'll be back to it soon!

I do reuse my spray bottles! Either I clean it completely and use it for other cleaning supplies or the same cleaning product.
Usually though for “refill” bottles it only
Makes sense when it’s concentrate and can be diluted to make 3+ spray bottles from one refill. OR when it just saves money because per ounce of product.
