As someone that’s part of the fitness industry and loves to lift weights for a living, please listen to me y’all when I say that getting an “aesthetic” physique doesn’t mean you’ll suddenly be immune to things like cellulite, tiger stripes or feeling “soft”. This is often something people don’t understand and think that by getting into fitness will make all these things disappear. It won’t though I have cellulite on my legs and stretch marks on both my butt and the sides of my thighs because I’m a human being. I can also pinch quite a bit of skin on my body and even some of the leanest people on the planet won’t ever not be able to pinch absolutely nothing because skin, other tissues, veins, etc take up space in the world. It’s not all just body fat and muscle that’s under your skin If I flex my legs (for example) as hard as I can, they’re solid. BUT if I relax them and give them a lil slap, they jiggle 😌 Even when I walk they jiggle because muscle is loose when it’s not contracting nonstop Another thing I want to mention are the booty poses you see girls doing on IG. Yes they look ✨aesthetically pleasing✨ but they aren’t realistic because it’s called a pose for a reason. I know I’m doing one in my profile pic but I promise you that when I’m standing with both legs straight, my booty doesn’t pop out as much So please, be easier on yourself when scrolling on social media because the illusions many people put out there are just to boost their self-esteem, protect them from what they consider to be hate and to escape a reality that is hard to accept with all the new beauty standards that are shoved down our throats regularly and can’t actually meet
For the woman who gave herself the tiny waist/weird proportions: diet isn't going to do much (if anything) to give her a tiny waist, that's largely genetic. Most women don't have tiny waists and that's fine. The obession with trendy body types is incredibly harmful.
My smallest waist ever was 28. My stepmother asked me if I had ever tried Weight Watchers, lol. I replied that 38-28-38 measurements seemed OK with the men. I only weighed 118 pounds, ffs. She was offended and I was OK with that.
The hiking woman didn't just Photoshop her waist, and I was surprised that it wasn't mentioned in the video. Her real face looks late 30s. Her fake one looks like a Real Housewife. Her hair is way longer and blonder in the "after" photo. Plus, the amount of makeup is illogical for hiking.
I too am grateful for that comment. I have always had hip dips (they called them saddlebags in my day, ugh)...even when I was super-skinny. Some women just have them. It's a fact of life. We need to accept it.

The compulsive notification checking, deleting posts that "didn't get enough likes", the narcissism/ self obsession/ insecurities it brought out in myself & in others; my mental health was suffering so much without me even realizing it for a long time. so I "took a break"... 4 years later I'm still on a social media break lol (only YT + Reddit for me). no judgment to anyone on there, I just personally couldn't hang.
There are people with naturally small waists, but it's typically a lot more proportional to the rest of their body. Even hourglass figures are more proportional than a lot of these photoshopped images. 💖
Not everyone can have a tiny waist because we're made different. Doesn't it depend on your rib cage, if you have a wider or narrower one? Same for our hips (hip dips), etc. We literally can't control it.

Today’s video made me realize that I’m oblivious to photoshop because I just don’t care. I have no idea how to even use photoshop. I don’t feel that I would use it because I feel that if I take a picture of something, it’s for a memory. Why would I want to change it? I guess I can understand people wanting to crop a picture or photoshop it to get rid of someone or something in the picture that wasn’t supposed to be a part of it. People should learn to love themself the way they are. If you’re not happy with yourself, work on yourself, it’s better for your health and well being than photoshop, not to mention the fact that you won’t actually freak anyone out if you meet them.
Yeah, my husband is NOT shaving his glorious, sexy beard! But I DID find a mask that I bought for him made especially FOR guys with beards. It works quite nicely.

Once you have a flatter stomach, OMG I NEED A THIGH GAP... If you're capable of achieving that, next is OMG I HAVE HIP-DIPS..... There's been research done on the patriarchal cultural influence of women's value primarily based on their appearance, and how damaging it is to focus on arbitrary traits, often at the expense of acquiring/enhancing positive personality traits and even intelligence.... It's so depressing. In a way, I'm "lucky" that I have a big chest and butt with a waist, but I'm also seen as "too fat" because I'm not a size 4 or lower, so I'm basically treated as though those traits don't count. There's been research done on the patriarchal cultural influence of women's value primarily based on their appearance, and how damaging it is to focus on arbitrary traits, often at the expense of acquiring/enhancing positive personality traits and even intelligence.... It's so depressing.
In a way, I'm "lucky" that I have a big chest and butt with a waist, but I'm also seen as "too fat" because I'm not a size 4 or lower, so I'm basically treated as though those traits don't count.
Here's my point: THESE TRAITS ARE ARBITRARY AND NO ONE WINS. STOP DRINKING THE KOOL-AID.
