Finally! 😩 thought you guys weren't going to continue the series 😅
Oh & I love that red blazer 😮
Please, do not take another 3 months to release your reaction to War. Needs to be before the next one.
Guy who’s never been within a 1000 miles of a war talking about what brings about society’s downfall. What a tool lol
@@ny8956 I hope you're being sarcastic 😆
My mind boggles me that Andy Serkis never won an Oscar for his motion capture acting. Especially as Caesar
I know he's incredible
Didn't he for Gollum?
Edit: I googled it and I'm wrong he did not, I genuinely thought he had that performance and this trilogy's 100% deserved one
I have no doubt that in the future he’ll get an honorary Oscar for chi mo cap contributions
Does anyone that doesn’t have their face on-screen?
Not enough screaming, crying and close monologue for the academy
There is no reason in my opinion that Andy Serkis shouldn’t have been nominated for an Oscar for this movie. He is one of the best actors in the world regardless of using performance capture or not.
I’ll go one step further there’s no reason why he shouldn’t have been nominated for all three movies combined (I know that’s not a thing that can happen but still)
Right? It's BECAUSE he's a great actor that mo-cap Cesar is one of the best movie characters of all time!
@@OrionInSpace DAMN RIGHT!
Absolutely
Definitely needs o e of those lifetime achievement awards for his work in motion capture
It is so rare to see a SINGLE remake of any Classic, done well. To have all three (and a fourth coming soon) not only pay due respect/homage to the original, but even (In many instances), *SURPASS* the previous trilogy? Absolutely *OUTSTANDING* series of movies, thus far!
i agree!! i also think this new one, even if its part of an old franchise, is refreshing considering it's a perspective of worldbuilding that we didn't see in the old movies. even though we're in an era when people are constantly remaking or rebooting movies or adding sequel after sequel to the point where it's unnecessary. but this trilogy, and now the fourth one, are amazing additions that are leading up to the when the older films take place. so yeah it might be an older franchise and seem like another typical "not another planet of the apes movie" but they are so well done and well-written and are a new perspective of the world
@@cheyenne8432
:-)
Matt Reeves really came in, rubbed his hands together and was all like "lets make some motherfucking magic happen" and then dropped two bangers of sequels. Then did it again and dropped a banger of a batman movie. Also, yes, Andy Serkis not getting a nomination for his performance in any of these films is deeply upsetting to me.
I’d argue the Batman movie is really poorly written and bad
@@isaacsmith1460 ok. Thats your opinion. Valid, but I dont agree with it.
@@isaacsmith1460absolutely not, Matt reaves did a fantastic job with the movie, I can go on as to why but that’s ur opinion
@@surfergemini1667 well the story they chose could have ended in 30 mins if they had made Batman comic accurate and competent not to mention Batman’s face is completely unscathed even though he was right in front of an explosion it’s really bad writing I’m sorry it just is but there’s nothing wrong with matt reeves he did good despite poor writing
@@isaacsmith1460that’s a cool point of view considering he’s not the “worlds greatest detective” if this was he second year and just completely badass, everyone would have bitched even more. Just like you’re doing in that comment.
Koba is such a good villain
I was sad he died I wish he was in the next movie
@@jmartman13 He was in the 3rd movie but as a hallucination from Caesar
@@CrimsonRobloxyou’re right I forgot. I need to rewatch the whole trilogy before the new one in May
@@jmartman13I’m thinking I should do the same because I do love these movies.
"HUMAN WORK!" Much like Magneto, we can resonate with why he will never trust humans and his motives. The only thing he truly did "wrong" was killing Cesar to start the war, humans would have done that soon enough.
I love the relationship between Caesar and Malcolm, they spend such a small amount of time together but such a strong bond was built
Andy Serkis absolutely deserves an Oscar for his performance as Ceaser. I really love Maurice's voice too. I truly wish he talked more throughout the trilogy.
Yess!!!
As amazing as Andy is.....he only did half the magic....if the CGI is bad then Andy's acting doesn't show through
34:29
Don’t get me wrong. Gary has a had a long and illustrious career.
But this role.. this scene.. I think is the pinnacle of it all.
Without any words at all he shows just what kind of man Dreyfus is like.
Of course he’s happy that the humans just got power. Of course he feels like he accomplished his mission.
But he takes one look at his past… one look at his family and he breaks down into a shell of a man.
Because even if he’s the leader of the humans during the apocalypse even if he has saved them for now.
He will never be satisfied because he failed those that needed him most.
His crying is so damn raw and real and this scene man… I’m crying right along side him.
The scene with Gary oldman looking at his tablet once power is back breaks me every time. Since becoming a parent it hits different
I imagine he had no way of seeing photos of his kids so that moment with the tablet had to of been the first time in years!
Kingdom of the Apes has got a lot to live up to, this trilogy set the standard for the franchise and showed how incredible this series can be.
One of the best movies in the last 20 years
Honestly, this movie is superb. I was shocked that the 3rd one was even better!
Honestly, the 3rd movie is so good it’s the only franchise film to make my top ten best films of all time.
This series is so severely underrated and under looked. It often swaps between this trilogy and lord of the rings for my favourite trilogy.
It's a superb trilogy. Definitely deserves to be in the same convo as LOTR ☺️
Are you aware that another "Planet of the Apes" movie is due out on May 10th? It's called "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes."
@@erickvoshel1 yes I am. Directed by Wes Bal who did the maze runner trilogy
This trilogy is honestly I think the best modern one due to the fullness of Caesar’s story. I know the contenders. I think this wins.
I agree. I honestly can’t think of another trilogy that’s as strong and has as all around quality as these movies. I’m still pissed these didn’t get any Oscar consideration.
Giving Andy Serkis an Oscar at this point isn't enough. The Academy should start a category for Mocap performances and name it after Andy Serkis. THAT would be the appropriate thing at this point.
So glad to have Tara’s great intros back!
I thought her name was Tera?
@@ctakitimu could’ve sworn it was *Pterah*
Part of the reason Koba turned against Caesar in the end was because of Caesar attacking him in the dam. Until that point, Koba had still remained loyal to Caesar despite his aggression and violent temper, but when Caesar attacked him at the dam, Koba felt absolutely humiliated and betrayed in front of everyone, both human and ape, and thus firmly believed that Caesar would rather defend humans instead apes
It's actually implied that Koba's last "Ape not kill Ape" was actually a taunt to Caesar, knowing what he was about to do to him
Caesar is one of the best characters in the history of cinema.
Truly, without a doubt one of the best movies of the century. This movies rocks in every way. I also just love how with each new movie that came out for this trilogy not only did The Voice come out more for Caesar but so did the performance of Andy Serkis. APES TOGETHER STRONG!
Yall don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for this ! Glad Tara is back !
Lol
A lot of people said they were surprised by the dystopian shift from the end of the last movie, to this one.😄
And all i can say in response is, well, those of us that watched all of the original Planet Of The Apes movies weren't surprised 😆😆😆
Also, gotta remember, these movies are set at the beginning of everything..so technically, they're are prequels. Made *'Many'* decades after the originals,(Like Star Wars...but good😊).
I love the original series to death because it's such an iconic 70s sci-fi classic and I loved the stories told from the original series, but I have to admit the reboot series truly is the golden pinnacle of the franchise itself. All I'm hoping for now is for the newest Planet Of The Apes film to finally include the progenitor to the malicious Dr. Zaius. That's all I want to complete this new series
Dystopian shift happened in 10 yrs per the movie, COVID happened in the span of just 2 yrs. So it's no surprise that life can have a drastic shift in a very short span!
Koba reminds me of scar from the loin king the way he smiled at ceaser when he shot him just like what scar did to mufasa before he killed him
yeah but the difference is koba actually has a reason to be evil and want to take control whereas scar is just pure evil for no reason
This movie is so great and the best! Andy Serkis is so amazing as Caesar! 👍
Can't wait to see your reaction to War! This is one of my favourite movie series of all time, with each movie being better than the last, and Ceasar as a character holds a very special place in my heart.
Im so glad you both got back to the Planet of the Apes trilogy! Its one of my favorite trilogies of all time. Dawn is the most shakespearean of them all. The storytelling is top notch!! Can't wait for you to watch War for the Planet of the Apes
This movie one of those few sequels that surpass the original for me🙌🏼
The best most powerful and heartfelt part of this movie for me is when Malcolm (Jason Clarke) and the others are helping Caesar recover while hiding out in Caesar's old home. And they're looking at old footage of Caesar with Will (James Franco) on this old camcorder.
Malcolm (asks Caesar about Will): "Who is that?"
Caesar points to Will in the old footage and says to Malcolm, "A good man, like you."
I LOVE the trust and bond that grows between Malcolm and Caesar. The fact that Ceaser can wisely discern between good and bad people (since he's experienced both sides) makes him an amazing character and leader in this franchise. It creates compelling and real conflict because you understand the apes' hate towards humans, especially Koba.
Caesar can easily rally the apes to wage war against the humans, but like any good leader, he seeks the best for his people and knows that war would destroy everything they've built. He doesn't let ego, pride, selfishness, or pressure from those around him cloud his judgment. And since he's seen the good in humans, he's willing to help some of them and be kind and compassionate in their time of need.
My only gripe (and it’s not even so much about the movie itself) is that when you see the trilogy as a whole. I think the first one should’ve been called Dawn of the Plant of the Apes, this should’ve been called War For The Planet of the Apes and the 3rd one called Rise of The Planet of the Apes. Only because the 3rd movie is called War, but there isn’t too much war throughout the movie.
One of my favourite trilogies of all time, good to see this one on the channel rejects 😊
TARA!!!! YOU'RE BACKKK!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Koba got the worst death imaginable from his perspective. He died in a steel cage that was made by humans.
In a world of cash grab remakes of old movie franchises, the planet of the apes movies don’t ever feel like that, they are well written, well acted and superbly shot
What a trilogy. Each movie builds on the last and Andy Serkis is outstanding. I can already tell you guys will love War too. It’s my favorite, somehow, I like it more than the other masterpieces
This movie felt like the Dark Knight with Apes
Don't know why this one got buried in the algorithm when I was so excited for ya'll's reaction to this series! Didn't realize you had already done this one untill I saw the war movie was up today!
What an AMAZING reaction!! Loved seeing you guys have the same emotions that I had when I first watched this film. War for the Planet of the Apes is my favorite of the trilogy and I think it is a masterpiece so I can not wait for you guys to react to it.
I have missed "Riiiiiiing the beeeell...Riiing the Bell" ❤Musho musho love
I love this reaction channel soooooooooo much. Love everyone's genuine reactions too❤❤❤
Aww thank you!
At the end of the credits, you can listen Koba breath
I know koba was heavily experimented on so he hates humans but he’s a bonobo the most passive ape species so it’s strange seeing one so violent
the revamp of Planet of the Apes has to be one of my favorite film franchises! the direction they end up taking the characters, making them all feel so nuanced, have such depth of character, making them feel human (sometimes moreso than the humans themselves haha!!!)
great commentary you guys!!! cannot wait to see the reaction to War
I may have missed it if you mentioned it, or if someone in the comments said it. One interesting, yet sad, thing about Koba and Caesar is the difference in their species. Caesar is a chimpanzee which have been known to be very aggressive, while Koba is a Bonobo a more peaceful cousin. Yet, in these movies, Koba is more violent, while Caesar is more peaceful. It's to show that race and origin doesn't define who you are, but your experiences that make you, you.
Thanks for your review. I binge-watched the entire series on the weekend. I have watched other reviewers reacting to the movies - but you bring a lot of knowledge and perspective. I love how engaged you were….it was terrific watching your emotions and hearing your take on the movie characters (ape and human).
Genuinely you guys are my favorite channel I watch your videos to fall asleep every night !! I hope to see damsel reaction
Yaaaaaaay!!!!!!! Tara is back!!! I've been waiting for you guys to get back to this trilogy!👍👍🥰
Everytime Caesar shows who's boss even I bow down and extend my hand 😅
I’m not on here enough to comment back yall because I have 8 jobs, but I wanted to say that I love you guys!!! If I got paid to comment back I’d be on here making a connection with all of you lovelies! ❤🎉 🦍 Love you Rejects/Tara Troopers. Hugs, love and laughter- T
It’s been a minute since I’ve seen this movie but watching this reaction just reminded me that Koba is one of my favorite movie villains ever
Awesome really enjoyed these films , andy serkis did an amazing job. Each 1 got better and better 😂
BEEN WAITING ON THIS ONE, glad you guys are back ❤
The sad thing about these movies is I don’t feel bad for our kind, humans are just bleh in these type of movies and what’s even worse is this would probably happen
47:51 Imo they missed the opportunity to refer him as Ceaser's Father in here. It would've been more impactful.
No it wouldn't.
Yay!!! Good to see Tara back! I hope she’s feeling better, being sick sucks!
From the Old School to the New School - What is your ALL-TIME Favorite Movie in the APES Franchise?
Markie Mark of the apes...jk it too sure actually might have to rerwatch them
Really loved this trilogy, war for the planet of the apes was mine.. each one got better and better
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes!
Dawn is the 3rd best live action sequel of all time for me #1 Empire Strikes Back #2 The Dark Knight
I have seen them all and it’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for me.
Love Andy Serkis in these films. Looking forward to your reactions to Caesar’s continued development in War.
I have been waiting so long for this let’s goooooooooooo
I love these movies, and it's great to watch you guys react to it and have the same experience/reaction that I did 🥰
The THIRD movie will have Andrew in tears. It may be my favorite of the three
I just recently learned that James Franco’s character canonically died of the simian flu between Rise and Dawn 😢😢😢😢
Also I think this film is one of the VERY few times Jason Clarke (Malcolm) has played a good guy.
that was obvious. the movie clearly says that only 1 in 500 people survived the virus, and that was at the beginning of the pandemic. so humans are basically extinct 10 years later. if James Franco's character was still alive it would have been beyond belief even for a movie.
its amazing how that camera still had power after 10 years lol
I’d love to see these two react to all the classc Apes films
Fun fact Caesar’s wife (Cornelia) is played by Judy Greer
I'm so glad you guys are finally seeing these movies!!!!!😂🎉😂😂
War is phenomenal but also heartbreaking at the same time. Stock up on tissues when watching it. Things are going to get messy. Snot etc. Take care 😘🏴
It’s always been my head cannon that the movie contagion is part of this series. So it takes place in between planet of the apes 1 and 2
When I first saw it I thought Caesar was going to say “ my father “ also
was waiting for this one for so long 😭 thank you RR
Koba is easily one of my favourite villains he only cares about his revenge and doesn’t care about how many apes die
3:29 such a great plug, seriously crying over here 😭😭
The teaser trailer for this is my all time fave!
I already know that I'm going to love this reaction. 😊
As much as I love the first movie with James Franco, this one is my favorite of the trilogy. Andy Serkis once again fantastic as Caesar. And Koba is such a great villian.
I love that my favorite reactors are discovering this great movie trilogy. The Media Knights just posted their reaction for this movie as well. LOL!
Another fun movie for Tara and Andrew to watch if neither have already seen it is the 1985 "Clue".
Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
Jeez, Media Knights is watching this movie on their channel! Is this a fascination for the Planet Of The Apes?
Probably because of the new movie coming out
@@Impulsiveartist I knew that. Lol!
Hahah well Tara is finally back so picking up on some franchises she left off on
@@shainewhite2781then what are you questioning?
I just finished watching Media Knights' reaction and now watching the Rejects 😁 loving it
“Maybe this is it, this is how it ends”.
That line will never not send chills up my spine.
How do you shout in sign language. Random comment just noticed at the start of the film when he signs to Koba there’s an exclamation mark at the end 😂 love this movie watched it loads while I was in school
Well technically you can, depending on how hard you do it, the way you mouth it and your facial expressions
Ha! The main orangutan is named Maurice. If memory serves, Dr. Zaius, the main orang in the 1968 original film, was played by Maurice Evans
Please watch the next one. I loved yalls reaction to this one.
You guys are awesome
This is the highlight in one of the most under appreciated trilogies of all time
When will the reaction to the classic Charlton Heston Planet of the Apes be coming out? Been wanting to see your guys reaction for a while now
This is probably my favorite movie of all time. Andy Serkis was robbed. I mean it's a bit understandable seeing that a lot of people think the CGI added to the acting, but after watching the BTS, it was all Serkis. Also not enough people give Toby Kebbell the credit he deserves for playing Koba! Koba is one of the best villains ever and Toby worked just as hard as Serkis.
Can’t wait for them to get to “War for the POTA” (aka my favorite) I know they will love Bad Ape
Idk, Koba’s death does hurt me, it is true that he lost control blinded by hatred, but he only knew the horrible side of the human being, unfortunately his ideals so contrary to Caesar’s ideals led him to his destruction.
I am up for a War for the Planet of the Apes Reaction with you guys!! 🦧🦧🪖🪖
It's sooo great to have Tara back!! 🥹✨
What makes caesar a good leader is that he makes mistakes and has flaws and learns from those.
No way, i completely disagree with you guys. This sequel is right there next to The Dark Knight, The Empire Strikes back, How to Train a Dragon, Etc. Its arguably one of the best trilogies ever.
i saw this movie and the first one when i was way too young to watch it and I’m so glad i did
9:55 last of us came on 2013 rise of the planet of the apes came out in 2012 or could be 2011 we're basically around the year avengers came out 2014 this movie came out now Matthew Reeve could have took inspiration from the game but one is different one was like about zombies and infected and the other was about apes but mostly most movies or games take inspiration from each other where it's just post-apocalypse where mostly cars are abandoned or a wasteland
Tara is back!?
Hopes she’s all well
…and Andrews first comments is “it’s like Covid” 🤦🏻♂️
-love this movie, best in the trilogy
Love ya’lls conversation too.
So glad Tara's back!
Remember Koba was just as smart as Cesar. Just too much hate in his heart for humans. Could of been the best #2 but he was just too ambitious
Where can I watch it with sign language subtitles? Really need this information!!
Great reaction! My first video after Tara came back 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Waiting for the War reaction
Also Kingdom is out 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Can’t wait to see more of your reactions 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
You guys should react to the original franchise and mark walhberg remake version 💯
Bro, if you love tracking shots watch True Detective season 1, if you haven't already! One of the best tracking shots ever done is in that season!
I like the fact that the movie showed that an ape is the one who screwed up this time and not the humans , showing that even in the apes there's bad apples
13:32 the guy next to the john Connor actor on the right did he play nightcrawler? Is that him?
Matt Reeves the legend.
Let's gooo what a franchise!
I forgot what I wrote and instinctual said "Let's gooo" out loud to myself, to then see that I wrote the same thing 😂
