Yeah this isn’t even close. The Seiko is a high quality piece, but hard to distinguish from many other forgettable 62MAS reissues they’ve issued over the past four years. At three feet away it looks basically identical to many other Seiko models. The Longines, on the other hand, is a distinctive historical classic. Nothing on the market looks anything like it (except maybe the JLC Polaris at three times the price)

Longlines is a better watch in my opinion, but it's just another super compressor style watch 😂

Close but, for me I’m going with the Seiko.

I’ve held both of these in person, and I now own the Seiko. On the wrist it just shines

This watch is so good for pretty much every person, regardless of wrist size, and seikopath or not. Fantastic Seiko.

Longines LLD design is unique and the specs is solid, but I prefer the overall look of the Seiko MM.

No way, just mm movement is better than whole Longines watch..6L is bassicaly soprod movement which can be certifed to superlative chrono while Longines is variation of powematiic 80 piece of crap.
This guy doesn’t know iconic status of 6L,40 000$ Credor watches used 6L caliber for years,it’s known for amazing accuracy, reliability and very thin case profile. This movement was so good that even Swiss used 6L variation for years!!

@@dado380 Longines isn't using the powermatic 80 it uses a top grade l888.5 which is a modified ETA 2892 and it can be easily regulated to cosc levels, which also has cosc level ones out there. So personally I think longines caliber is superior to 6L.

The "compression diver" look of the Longines Legend can be divisive. Some people like it, some people don't.

I own LLD 42 with date, this 39 version is all I could ask for no date, great loom, amazing size, bor bracelet.. I mean this watch is created based on any review of 42 lld you check online.
If I was in position to pick this one 5 years ago I would do so

I'm a huge Seiko fan. My favorite Seiko has always been the monoblock Marine Master with the 8L movement. The Longines wins. 72 hours of power and a very iconic watch. Also, I'm not sure about the bracelet on the new Marine Master. Looks strange to me.

Seiko marinemaster for the win. I have the limited and it just looks so good on wrist. Period! The limited edition is going to hold value. No Longines holds value. That’s a crazy statement.

I own the SJE101 and agree with you! I think these new marine masters are so underrated - they fit so nicely and the bracelet is just the combination of bling/polish and tool I was looking for

The seikos bracelet is halflinks basically, making it note comfortable than a big link bracelet. And the Seiko in house 6L37 movement murders this movement by far. by far. Swiss wont let Seiko do Cosc certification, because swiss own Cosc! And Seiko would murder then there too. Guys go try them on, whichever you want, is the right choice!

Prefer Longines for this comparison. Internal rotating bezel at 300M chronograph. It is quality.

I am a huge Seiko fan but between these two there is no doubt about it, Longines Legend Diver 39mm all the way.

Longines for the easy win. My big question is why doesn't Seiko put Marinemaster on the ACTUAL Marinemaster ?

Haha porediti seika i ovog longinesa je u najmanju ruku smesno. Longines je luksuz za bilo koji seiko, i kvalitet je na svim nivoima na strani longinesa.

Higher end seiko models do compete with any brand; Seiko has budget offerings but the Seiko name spans all the way until the grand seiko references

I used to agree before I saw the Seiko marine master in person … it fits so nicely! I expected to dislike the bracelet but I found it a lot harder to hate than I expected

Tudor is also a homage brand just like Steinhart, infact Tudor just added that god awfull snowlake hands just so that people could differentiated Tudor from Rolex, that’s all, there is no other difference between Rolex 54 and Tudor bb 54 and 58.

I own the Seiko MarineMaster SBDX001 that I bought approximately 10 years ago and the blue SBDX025 that I bought with great enthusiasm in 2017, they are two excellent watches and I love them, but with this new Marinemaster I feel cheated, I don't know how to explain it but I I feel cheated, for me the real Marinemaster has a monocoque case and caliber 8l35, I feel that the word Marinemaster has been prostituted

    • @jayt6958
      @jayt6958 23 дня назад

I think the new marine masters appeal to the younger and general market, as opposed to long-time watch enthusiasts and seiko historians. This is definitely a shift to a new theology where “Marine Master” means the top of the Seiko line
