Truly an icon, especially for us Seiko fanatics and modders. I always admired the MM300, Shogun, and Tuna from my SKX and SRP roots. After owning a MM300 my only complaint is the length of the bracelet links. It wraps around my wrist like a decagon.

Such a good-looking watch. Masculine yet beautiful, with a design all its own.

I agree with you. I think the 017 is the best looking of the MM300s. And if I had the disposable income, I wouldn't buy a Sub or a Seamaster, I'd buy this.

The Marinemaster is a big beautiful beast of a watch!

Because of the smaller dial size on the MM300, it wears smaller than 44mm, more like a 40 or 42mm.

My only issue with any model mm300 is the crown tube that is welded to case. If you ever have a threading issue, that whole mono block case needs to be replaced. In 2010 it cost $700 bucks, which means today it would not much less than the cost one of these preowned.

Honestly I wish we had prospex X signed crowns, it'd be such a nice touch

The new ones are still called the marine master in the label as well as the new Japanese and american reference numbers.

thanks for this video, I've really been eyeing the newer SBDX043 and was curious how the dimensions compare to the mm200

I agree, a couple of mm smaller would make a world of difference

now seiko just needs to do the og mm300 in a 39-40mm case and it would be game over.

The MM200 is basically what you get by taking the MM300 and removing everything that makes it attractive: the distortion of the crystal, the small, densly furnished dial, the depth of said dial, the chunky handset, the great bezel, the overengineered clasp, and the weird but attractive imbalance between the large, chunky case and the comparatively slim bracelet. Unlike the SPB143, which looks like a modernized version of the SLA017, the MM200 is just a lame version of the MM300.

Agree to disagree on that take, for me the MM200 is the better watch overall, while it doesn't quite feel as premium, it's more wearable and balanced while still retaining the iconic case shape.

The first generation MM200 was a nicer watch. It did its own thing.. The latest version looks like a budget version of the MM300 (which is still king).

The reduced looks much better.better overall package.dont like the 6r35.have 2 of these and my 4r36 and 4r35 and my newest 4r34 run much better .
The 300 has the proper caliber though
