@@AR-hw9zi I just think the design is boring- the case is plain and thick - and also those sausage hands. Overpriced for what they are- particularly when you put it next to an offering like this which is much cheaper but far nicer
Much cheaper? There is €300 price difference, which isn't that much. Not speaking about looks, but one thing the Black Bay has going for it, it build quality and feel. The bracelet and clasp are fantastic and a level that almost no other brand gives for around 5k
Longines finally perfected their compressor diver! Yay! They made it in 39mm, dropped the 3 O'clock date and got rid of that god awful faux lume. What more could you want? I would take this over the BB 58 any day of the week.
A longines boutique employee here in korea tipped me off about this a few months ago when i went to look at some zulu time gmts. Could not find info anywhere online. Now here it is.❤
agree! external rotating bezel divers are so ubiquitous, they're like oatmeal. the Legend is stunning. i also like the stealth aspect of it being 30 ATM and how it's a seamless dress / diver. it's my holy grail. even if I could afford a Rolex, I wouldn't buy one because of the kind of posers who are attracted to the brand.
I got to see them at a Longines event a few weeks ago. I have as immediately impressed. I really like the tone of blue they used on the 39 and the new bracelet felt really nice, also. I am strongly inclined to get one.
It's perfect. I would make the crowns slightly shorter, closer to the case. I would also prefer a simpler caseback, just brushed. Other than that, it is great. The blue really pops and the dial design has always looked good, especially with no date. Plus, no fauxtina!! Well done
Really looking forward to the new Hydroconquest. Longines just keeps hitting it out of the park. Would love to see the legend diver and/or the new Hydroconquest with the high beat ultra-chron movement.
Longines, is my favorite watch brand. I own seven different Longines watches in my collection. As an avid Scuba Diver, I own a Longines HydroConquest Dive Watch which I love. I do not own a Longines Legend Diver watch at this time. I do love the design, however as an environmental Scuba Diver, ocean explorer, and as a scientist concerned about the environment and overfishing of our oceans, I would like to see Longines make a redesign change on the elegant Diver image on the caseback of the watch. I would like to see the harpoon removed from the diver’s hands and/or a new design of a more environmentally friendly diver on the caseback. So the diver does not appear to enter the ocean as a hunter, ready to hunt and kill aquatic life, but to appear as a diver entering the underwater world to explore the beauty of the natural environment and be respectful of all the fish living in their natural habitat. I have previously written Longines’s management and product development leader with this suggestion , even provided sketches as examples of a potential redesign of an environmentally-friendly looking diver. But, have never heard back. I love Longines, and as a Scuba Diver and ocean environmentalist, I hope one day Longines would consider my suggestion. I believe it would give the Longines Legend Diver watch a new and attractive look, and at the same time position Longines as a Dive Watch company concerned about the preservation of natural aquatic life in our oceans and waters of our planet. I would be happy to talk with someone from the company to further explain and discuss this topic. I have some thoughts to share regarding this.
Longines nailed it. While I would love a date, this is still very good and the no date does add t the symmetry, which I appreciate. The shade of blue is spot on and the BoR bracelet is gorgeous. I would love a quick adjust clasp, but at least there are plenty of micro adjusts. I hate when brands short us on micro adjust positions. I've seen this shown on a blue tropic strap, which is also gorgeous. I would go for that over the NATO strap, if I were to take it off the bracelet. This watch definitely has my attention. I love the slightly above COSC certification work and appreciate the ISO certifications they did with this watch. It shows Longines really takes these seriously as tool watches. The multi-colored lume is very cool, and I also wish that extended to the rest of the markings on the bezel. I think the only thing that could pull me away from it would be the release of a blue Pelagos 39. I am not in a rush to purchase a blue diver at the moment, but I do want one. We'll see if Tudor comes out with a blue P39 in 2024, because a blue diver is likely my next big purchase.

That’s the vintage one, watches especially back then didn’t use nickel / rhodium plated hands so they did rust. Modern watches are just made from way better materials

The biggest improvement I see is the change in the hands. This new 39mm uses lume to fill up the entire hour and minute hands which allows them to be visible at all angles and lighting conditions. The 36 and 42mm hands use high polished hands with only small lume sections which makes the hands disappear in many situations. I will definitely be keeping my eye out on the black dial in the next few years when it becomes available on the grey market.
High polished hands are easier to see at different angles actually as they gleam in the light as opposed to the dull color of lume. I’ve only ever enjoyed looking at my 42mm from different angles so you might want to own one before placing judgment.

Amazing video and watch 😍
Wow I thought the new version would be better looking but somehow I’m happier with my 42mm version.
They really went away from the original look with this update and the hands are totally different and look clumsier/bulky.
They did improve the lume which is good I guess. But not sure why they had to totally change the watch to do that.
Are you sure this ISO 764? it is only 60Gauss magnetic resistance. For example iPhone emits 180 Gauss
This watch is gonna be a winner. I'm considering the 39mm Longines Heritage sub seconds and i'd like to know if this BOR bracelet is compatible with that case?
how many people go diving .. ? so many diving watches .. .000001 this many ..
Great video. Wanted to see a review on this watch and yours popped up. Keep up the good work. Love the blue dial. I have the BB 58 in black dial but also want the blue dial. Just don't want to buy 2 same watches. Beads of rice bracelet is better than the milanese mesh.
Have had my eye on this model previously, specifically, the black dial and the bronze model. I think the blue dial takes the cake though.
It’s not an actual compressor case anymore it’s just made to look like one, so please do not unscrew the timing bezel underwater or you will ruin the watch
Surely you couldn’t adjust the bezel underwater if you have to unscrew the crown?
Is it just me or does the spade hour hand look different than on the 42mm or 36mm versions of the LLD?
Love the watch but it irks me that the rotating bezel can't be turned underwater.....
