If Ashley ever decides to get married she is going to DESTROY the vows. JUST DEMOLISH them. No one will be safe. You can just tell. She has a level of perception that I strive to achieve.
this episode was a fever dream on so many levels. alayna's sister content was incomparable. *chef's kiss*. mak's twilight references and 50 shades of grey realization - priceless. Ashley's bedroom drawing - i'm gonna make a 3x5 foot poster to hang on my bedroom wall. a true work of art.
the fact that Mak said 50 shades of Grey when trying to prove the distance between twilight and her WAS SO FUNNY I LITERALLY WAS SCREAMING I DIDNT EVEN KNOW
Alayna: "did you know those are symptoms of autism in women?" "what?" "what?" "what" Mack: "what if it still comes out now?" Ashley: "should we do a question?" literally this entire interaction had me in tears they way it was cut paused and laughed for a good minute
Mak!! I'm a hairdresser and someone came in with a picture of you as a reference for a haircut! And I excitedly said "That's Mak!". That's it. That's the story just thought it was neat. 😅
"I love blocks" came from out of no where that even though I read an comment earlier about it eventually coming it still made me burst into such a loud laugh
This is a perfect episode of the podcast. Ashley's bed issues, the neurodivergent discussion, the Alayna's sister stuff, Mak's twilight references, Ashley and Alayna tell Mak something she didn't know, a really funny lisp bit, some czar references and the sincere compliments at the end. Y'all have done this wonderful thing all my other favourite podcasts do where you've developed these very identifiable relationship dynamics, running gags and in-jokes that emphasize the idea of a family or friends having dinner together. It's all very organic, funny and rewarding. I've watch this all progress and evolve from the start and really believe this episode sets a benchmark, epitomizing the perfect synthesis of the podcast's varying elements-the humour, the sincerity, friendship, and the genuine discussion of a topic present in the community you've built.
This felt like such a feel good season finale. I know you were joking Ashley, but I would happily tune in to hear you guys catch up on your weeks. The parasocial is REAL with this pod.
Same SO CUTE. Reminded me of when Ashley hung that sexy (not boudoir but showgirl) picture and Ashley said is this level and Mak said totally seriously that she couldn’t possibly answer that without her tool kit. Paraphrasing but that’s what I remember 😂
Mak’s concentration during the explaining of the picture of Ashley’s room! Also, all you sweet beautiful people forcing yourselves to sit quietly and receive compliments. ❤ this always brings me so much joy. Thank y’all for making this every week.
Y’all…..when EVERY episode ends I say, “no, THIS episode is my favorite and was the best yet!” You guys are so so great and the chemistry is one of a kind. Love you guys. 🥰
the way i gasped just like mak when alayna said her sister wanted to get cute for ashley. my jaw DROPPED then it cut to mak doing the same. my heart goes out to you in these trying times
The amount of inside jokes and bits that's this podcast has accumulated (so much so that a good percentage of their references can't even be understood unless you've listened to previous episodes) is so chaotically funny to me, I love it here 😭😭
ughh alayna's dad literally has me sobbing this is so sweeettt ughh my heartt (I'm also on my period lol) but yeah god I love this podcast :_) rewatching it whenever I feel isolated in my closet 😭 thank u guys for this fr
Stayed for the twilight discussions. And so hilarious that Mak didn’t know 50 shades is fan fic. But if it’s fair, it happens to us all. I want to talk so much to Mak about twilight haha.
Guys, Gerard Way was in New York on 9/11 and he saw the towers fall which caused him to create MCR which inspired Stephanie Meyer to write twilight which inspired E. L. James to write a fan fic called 50 shades of gray So basically 9/11 caused mak and her sister to watch 50 shades of gray as a way of bonding
I love hearing about Ashley and Alayna’s dinner with the fam so much. I won’t like, get to much into detail, but I didn’t have a great dad. It was nice to hear about a Canadian super man that orders to share with his family and brought a hat for the visitor
I was so invested in all the stories about Alayna and Ashley’s weekend adventures! It felt like I was catching up with good friends and hearing about all their stories!!! ❤
Also.. all 3 of you were able to speak so highly of each other.. yet all three of you looked like you had such a hard time accepting those kind words. And it shows how good but hard on yourselves you are. I'm happy you guys have each other to lift each other up and remind each other of how amazing each of you are. Thank you for everything you share with us.
The overlapping convo was similar to a conversation I had with my sister. ADHD, anxiety, autism and even neuro stuff being visually impaired all have certain traits that overlap. Stimming for example is common with autism but also for ADHD.
😂😂😂 the fact that it took y'all till the end to introduce the podcast. Y'all complimenting each other was so wonderful and genuine and heartwarming. 🥰🥰🥰 But Mak's especially made me tear up. 🥺❤ I am so sorry for your loss, Alayna. 😢💔 Love to you and your family during this time.
To Ashley's point, I do have ADHD, but I also am I really outspoken/cpnfident woman, and I often feel like if society hasn't squshed down that part of us at a certain age we are looked at like there MUST be SOMETHING wrong with us that we are confident and loud and happy taking up our space.
You guys are the kind of people I dream to be friends with while also being afraid I'm too old and too difficult to make new friends anymore😄 You just amplify the best in each other and I can only imagine how huge it is to have something like that in real life outside the podcast
I'm not a big fan of circle sunglasses but if anyone looks better than most people in them it's Ashley. I'm sincerely surprised Mak didn't know that 50 shades was a Twilight fanfic. Condolences Alayna. Glad you are back.
We need a new rule for this podcast - the clock does not start until you do the introduction. 🙂 Thank you, guys, this one was very special and soo funny!!
Absolutely loved this episode !! The compliment tour you made at the end is soooo genuine and cute. And Ashley, you deserved all those compliment and it's true !!! I feel like she's the first one to compliment other, and always seeks the best in people, but she's wonderful too !! I sincerely love this podcast so much, thank you to the 3 of you !!
How much were talking about Manitoba in this episode is making me cry dude. I didn’t come to the merch table because I thought it was a VIP ticket thing now I regret but it was nice to be in the vicinity
I agree with Alayna when she said she felt like she never wanted Ashley’s show to end. I went to Ashley’s Thursday night show in Chicago and felt the same way when she was about to do her last joke. I wanted to go to another show before she left Chicago, but I couldn’t make it work with my schedule, unfortunately. Truly the best comedy show I’ve been to, and I hope to see Ashley again when she’s back in town!
This is maybe the 4th full episode I've watched and every conversation has been so relatable. I've never had an unhealthy parasocial obsession but I can see how it could happen.
I have so much FOMO for Mak regarding the hat and the whole evening Ashley spent with Alayna's family I absolutely love Mak's Twilight metaphore/references but Mak, you said Ashley is Edward... you won't win as Jacob, sorry Oh my god Alayna's "Doesn't she chose Jacob" had me cackling 👌😂 Oh wow Mak's realisation about 50 shades being a fanfic, this gets better and better I love you guys, I laugh out loud listening to you, you bring me so much joy ✨️❤️
So sorry for your loss Alayna. Sending healing and well wishes to you 💙💙 this was such a lovely and joy filled episode. I love that Alaynas family all went to see Ash’s show and were awesome and lovely. You are all such, kind, genuine and caring souls so that ending made me smile. I love how much love and respect you have for each other. Thank you for making such an awesome podcast! My fave thing to watch every Wednesday 🤗💙 wishing you all lots of happiness and love 💙💙💙
Was this the most hilarious episode so far? I literally couldn't stop laughing! And that wholesome moment when you complimented each other so genuinely made me so emotional! Loved that, loved everything about this episode! I, though, had this thought always on the back of my mind where I was like: are they even going to introduce the pod? 😂 Jeez, so hilarious that giving it 10 out of 10, doesn't feel fair, it isn't enough! ❤
Mak's commitment to the Twilight thread is really quite admirable
Alaena: *going into beautiful details about their neurodivergent convo*
Mak: I love blocks.
Me: *starts crying laughing*
lol I read your comment the same moment they said that
"i wuv bwocks"
I was in the car with my parents trying so hard not to burst out laughing lmfao
If Ashley ever decides to get married she is going to DESTROY the vows. JUST DEMOLISH them. No one will be safe. You can just tell. She has a level of perception that I strive to achieve.
Jen is terrified about this
@@ashgavs omg that's so sweet
hahahah ashley's reaction to alayna telling her that her sister told her she had to "get cute", soo good lmfao
Total simp moment!
this episode was a fever dream on so many levels. alayna's sister content was incomparable. *chef's kiss*. mak's twilight references and 50 shades of grey realization - priceless. Ashley's bedroom drawing - i'm gonna make a 3x5 foot poster to hang on my bedroom wall. a true work of art.
Seriously. I love every episode but this was next level hilarity.
the fact that Mak said 50 shades of Grey when trying to prove the distance between twilight and her WAS SO FUNNY I LITERALLY WAS SCREAMING I DIDNT EVEN KNOW
I just love how no matter how serious and non related the topic is, Mak can always come in with the "You know guys this is just like Twilight"
MOM IS BACK!!! 😭👏 Don't leave us again
Literally
I got so happy seeing her in the intro lmao
We were so lost without her😭😭
studying: ❌
watching the new chosen family episode: ✅
why not both?
@@kesha6658 easily distracted lol
And Ashley was a teacher... So kinda okay... Like we're attending a class
Lol same I have my A level exams tomorrow
Alayna: "did you know those are symptoms of autism in women?"
"what?" "what?" "what"
Mack: "what if it still comes out now?"
Ashley: "should we do a question?"
literally this entire interaction had me in tears they way it was cut paused and laughed for a good minute
Saaaame 😂😂 this slayed me
honestly i could watch that forever and still laugh. so good.
As a woman with ADD, I honestly LOVE how the topics are all over the place.
Same lol
Not ADD, but autism, and honestly the lovely chaos is what I love about this podcast
oh THAT's why i can't stop listening to this podcast
Mak!! I'm a hairdresser and someone came in with a picture of you as a reference for a haircut! And I excitedly said "That's Mak!".
That's it. That's the story just thought it was neat. 😅
That's too funny!
I also literally showed Mak's pic to my hairdresser HAHAHAH she really be influencing
Of course Alayna's dad is Canadian superman, of course
So true! I’m dead 💀
"I love blocks" came from out of no where that even though I read an comment earlier about it eventually coming it still made me burst into such a loud laugh
The repetitive Twilight references from Mak are cracking me up 😂 The compliment circle at the end was so sweet 🥹

THIS!! You nailed it!
Thanks for capturing in actual sentences what I was thinking! This is exactly it!
I laughed so hard that alayna pointed out how they never introduced the podcast lmao 😅 I honestly didn't notice till she said something
Same!
Yeah, who cares. No time for structure. We need to get on with the random convo.
listening to alayna talk about how her dad is just felt so heartwarming and kinda fulfilling i love that there are nice fathers/men out there 😭
omg re-watching this episode and I legit forgot I commented this came to the comments to comment thisss 😭😭😭
This felt like such a feel good season finale. I know you were joking Ashley, but I would happily tune in to hear you guys catch up on your weeks. The parasocial is REAL with this pod.
Word. Completely agree❤
WAIT IS THIS A SEASON FINALE???
@@lilysillywilly Not as far as I know. It was just that it had 'send us home happy' vibes.
Mak’s twilight comments had me cracking up every time omg 😂 “I’m just waiting for my breaking dawn part 1 moment” 🤣
The whole second movie was Edward leaving Bella on read so he absolutely would
This podcast is like my weekly therapy session.
Mak's reaction to the Superman part is the most adorable thing. ✨🌼✨
Mak's little kid energy KILLED ME 😂 "I like blocks" 😂 and the outfit helped sell it
Ashly’s bed excitement is a pure millennial joy
I love how this episode is literally ashley and alayna telling stories and mak doing twilight references
Mak's facial perplexity during the bed drawing bit killed meeee
Same SO CUTE. Reminded me of when Ashley hung that sexy (not boudoir but showgirl) picture and Ashley said is this level and Mak said totally seriously that she couldn’t possibly answer that without her tool kit. Paraphrasing but that’s what I remember 😂
Mak’s face of concentration when Ashley is describing the room is amazing. 😂
Mak’s concentration during the explaining of the picture of Ashley’s room!
Also, all you sweet beautiful people forcing yourselves to sit quietly and receive compliments. ❤ this always brings me so much joy. Thank y’all for making this every week.
Now we want to meet Alayna's dad 🥺
She has vids in which he features. He’s fun and wholesome !
He's so fun!
*Spoilers*,
wait for the hand-puppet episode.
Omg they have to bring on Alaynas parents
I think I just fell in love with him
Alayna’s kindness… it makes sense someone in her family likes Superman
This was just SO wholesome and lovely. You all are a breath of fresh air in the dungeon of the internet.
I’m still cracking up at maks face the entire time Ashley is explaining her bedrooom layout
Y’all…..when EVERY episode ends I say, “no, THIS episode is my favorite and was the best yet!” You guys are so so great and the chemistry is one of a kind. Love you guys. 🥰
Me too😊
so true
Same!!❤❤❤
"This is just like in Eclipse..." 😂😂😂 I am living for the twilight references Mak!❤😍😄
Mak saying "I'll see her soon I'm sure so..." had me cracking up so hard 😂😂😂😂
the way i gasped just like mak when alayna said her sister wanted to get cute for ashley. my jaw DROPPED then it cut to mak doing the same. my heart goes out to you in these trying times
This has literally been my comfort podcast. THANK YOU.
This episode is UNHINGED and I'm loving every second of it

I really like Mak’s outfit. And when she said “what in the hell is going on?!” That accent was HILARIOUS 🤣
The face Ashley makes holding up the bed sketch again BAHAHAHA🤣this episode is really sending me this time
You 3 made me sob over those compliments...that was SOOO sweet
Alayna I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you and all of your family love and support ❤
Stayed for the twilight discussions.

Nearly spat my coke zero when Mak said, "Well now we're getting a little bit into 'New Moon' territory".
Maks visible jealousy over Alayna's sister wanting to "get cute" for Ashley 😂
I'm really curious how Alayna reacted to that voice memo, it's a shame they didn't mention it haha
I love hearing about Ashley and Alayna’s dinner with the fam so much. I won’t like, get to much into detail, but I didn’t have a great dad. It was nice to hear about a Canadian super man that orders to share with his family and brought a hat for the visitor

I love that Ashley’s cat has been in several episodes as I have a black cat named bubba
awww 😭🩶🩶
oh my gosh mak not knowing that 50 shades is twilight fan fiction but genuinely loving both.. that is the best thing ever
its really great rewatching these episodes knowing Mak STILL hasn't got her passport
Alana’s “I was a weggo kid” had me on the fLOOR
Ashley's aggressive grunt at 43:00 after the very first compliment she gets is the funniest thing about this episode
The overlapping convo was similar to a conversation I had with my sister. ADHD, anxiety, autism and even neuro stuff being visually impaired all have certain traits that overlap. Stimming for example is common with autism but also for ADHD.

The end of this episode was SO sweet! Just genuine friendship! I think that’s why this podcast works SO great! I aspire to be more like all of you!
This is so cool that Alayna's parent took her coming out well! We hear horror stories back here in Quebec!
I'm not a big fan of circle sunglasses but if anyone looks better than most people in them it's Ashley.
I'm sincerely surprised Mak didn't know that 50 shades was a Twilight fanfic.
Condolences Alayna. Glad you are back.
I like how Ashley has a thin small mic then there’s mac with a humongous mic. 😂
Ashley's concerns about parents is so relatable though. I never know if I'm saying the right things, or in the right manner. 😅🙆
We need a new rule for this podcast - the clock does not start until you do the introduction. 🙂 Thank you, guys, this one was very special and soo funny!!
Yes!!!
I Love Bloks 😂😂😂😂😂
Great episode with Mom back 😂
I dont think Alayna is as much of a calming influence as we think.😂😂
Okay cryiinnggg at the end that was so sweet Im so jealous of your bonds w eachother
I found this podcast yesterday and have been binging all the episodes I’m so glad I found y’all ❤
My condolences for your grandma's passing. Unexpected losses can be so painful
The last part is the most adoreble thing ever, heals the tipical family fights during dinner
Omg you guys had me tearing up when you were complimenting each other at the end.
You were in Steinbech? Finally some great Canadian content. This makes my heart happy. No wonder Alayna’s family is religious haha what a place lol
I lost my grandfather 5 days ago....and u all are the light of my day too...
Mak, I feel you. I end up explaining Twilight to people a lot for the fact that I didn't really care for it when everyone else was actually invested.
ashley needs to remember the entrance phrase for a ringgo star impression is “peace and love man, peace and love”
I’m moving to Manitoba later this year and you, talking about how nice this place is making me less nervous about the move. Thank you guys

…this is my first episode after subscribing- it feels like a bunch of great friends sitting down and chatting life up!
I like it!
Omgosh this episode genuinely filled up my cup. so cute. ...Also kind of obsessed with this twilight/alaynas sister storyline. haha.
I love the Twilight series references, Mak! Seemingly a spot on interpretation of what’s happening!
I agree with Alayna when she said she felt like she never wanted Ashley’s show to end. I went to Ashley’s Thursday night show in Chicago and felt the same way when she was about to do her last joke. the face ash made at 22:02 literally killed me😭😭😭😂
The end of this with the lifting each other up was so lovely! This podcast ep had me cackling but that end section was truly the best part! 🩵
calling alayna the human version of a hug is so accurate
Sorry to hear about your grandma Alayna. ❤ Amazing episode!!! That dinner is going to be a legendary part of Chosen Family lore, I can feel it!
This is maybe the 4th full episode I've watched and every conversation has been so relatable. I've never had an unhealthy parasocial obsession but I can see how it could happen.

the compliments at the end were so beautiful to witness holy cow.
Okayyyy Ashley is glowing here
She looks so good in white & her hair is perfect
this episode was so funny and wholesome, this podcast is truly a comfort watch. Thank you all!
