Did the s9 have one UI update on it? Because Samsung definitely did some updates in the camera in portrait mode, backlit type if pictures and also shutter speed.
This is why i love photographers doing camera review, they know what they are doing instead of tech youtuber talking about camera comparison. They know 30% of photography. I can relate to this video 100% since im a photographer too. ;D
Bwamo The Pixel has so many other dealbreakers built into it that it doesn’t matter how good the camera is, I could never actually consider it. It’s easily the ugliest smart phone you can buy, with the worst notch and an inexplicably large chin as well. It has no headphone jack, the screen is no where near as good as the S10 or XS, and the battery life ain’t great either. I also find stock Android to be vastly overrated as well...
@@MegaTechpc I couldn't agree more with stock android being overrated! I had the Nexus 4, and finding third party apps for everything was just a chore! When I came back to android after an iPhone, the S8 blew me away with how much useful features Samsung builds into their phones! Now I'm on an S10+ and loving it!
Pros being a late S9+ adopter: better prices with all needed software fixes already available. Cons: Samsung releases a faster model with a more novel screen (shrug), larger battery (okay cool) and an overall better camera system with an ultrawide built in (OYE WAIT WHAT?!)
@@alexjavi13ify I'm on my fourth smartphone, went from a Galaxy S (the first one) to an HTC M7 to a Moto Z Play before the S9+; I average around that many years between upgrades I'd say, and this is a pretty significant upgrade over my last mobile. I'm actually really happy with the camera quality (except for the slow shutter speeds on the stock camera), I'm just insanely jealous of it having a built-in super-wide lens, haha. Don't really mind missing out on all the other features as much.

You had to compare zoomed crops at the same scale to compare details. What you are doing is comparing built in LUTs , which do not matter as they come with software, not hardware. Also, is S10 struggling with telephoto lens in pro mode the same way as S9 ? Thanks.
I just ordered the S10 today and mainly it's to take photos and vids when I'm traveling around. I find the s10 has wayyyy more natural features when it comes to shots although the iphone XS is a great competitor but still didn't knock shots outta the park like the s10 did.
I switched from the Pixel 3 to the S10+ 😬 But I also download the Pixel camera apk 😈 I will use Samsung camera for video and portrait, Pixel camera as my main and for Night Sight, and Moment camera for my professional photos 👍🏾
You actually tested an improovement? Usually, default camera apps are better since they are actually "tuned" to the hardware. Specially for flagships where one would expect a great deal of focus was put into making sure the software makes the most of the hardware.

My 2c an questions. 1. Wow built in super wide is really wide, almost on superfish level. 2. What about 58mm on built in tele? How's the sharpness an vignetting? 3. In Live focus: it looks wider than S9. Can you zoom in out? What focal length is used?
I recently got the S10 and I am amazed by the camera options and performance. However, there is one basic option that seems to be missing: when using the timer, the camera will only take 1 shot at the end of the countdown, while I was hoping it could take at least 3 shots. So I am still very puzzled about this since cheaper Samsung galaxy models do have this option...
You guys are doing most sensible camera reviews on RUclips comparing this generation phone and last generation is always overlooked by tech community keep it and here is an extra tip record entire review video on the smartphone you are reviewing as that will give veiwers another level perspective.
The only camera comparison video i am hyped for. Also try Gcam for s10 , the pixel camera on your samsung device. One thing the samsung is till missing is the pro raw for telephoto and ultra wide lens.
Comparing both S10 and XS's camera quality. I had to say the XS self portrait shows much cleaner detail. S10 still always give the smooth detail look. I'm an android user but I like the XS photo quality better. Just look at 3:15.

Ive been a Samsung user since but I've actually always preferred the portrait mode on the Iphone. I just feel that the blur is more balanced there. Currently own am s10 though and I am loving it
Hi #Moment team, I think U guys missed one important thing is to shoot portrait shots in low light from S10+. Where my S9+ performs very poorly while my single camera iPhone XR takes brilliant portrait shots even in room light or low light.

Definitely S10. The cameras are much more versatile and the quality is as good if not better.
Probably the pixel 3, or the Huawei p20 pro. The pice has top shot which is great.
You can put Google cam software on s10 for a pixel-like experience.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if you attach a zoom lens on the wide angle of the S10? different compression?
Image would probably get distorted or the wide lens would put some of the camera lens into the shot.
