    Kramanik and Anand are one of the most humble world champion in history of chess unlike Kasparov, topalov Fischer who were arrogant and stubborn. Magnus also more likely belong in 2nd category than first and Nepo is mini Kasparov. Other humble players are Wesley so, Aronian, Mvl etc.

      Aronian was justified because his country was disqualified from Olympiad due to disconnection but Nepo was too salty even after becoming joint winner.

      I watch an interview where Anand said that they were friendly to each other but ultimately they are more rivals than friends.

      Yes, they were always friends. But, Kramnik helped Anand night after night analysing his games against Topalov with his seconds. Anand says in his book Mind Masters, that's when their friendship really went to the next level. Anand has been ever grateful - Kramnik, along with Gelfand, two of Anands WC rivals, now coaches the Indian junior team (who are blazing the circuit).

    Well done guys great job !! Dortmund a very nice interesting city. Was lucky to visit Dortmund a few months pre covid .Nice to see them using big touch screen.

    Let´s go back to around year 1500. Is the introduction of the castling move a novelty that revitalizes chess? Is that attractive?
    If touching classical chess at all, it´s something new like the self-capture move, more or less at the same time that the Japanese shogi standardized the piece drop rule. Pretty simple, the Japanese one is a much deeper change that really complicates Shogi. Piece drop is helpful all the time, that totally changes the game. Self-capture is helpful only once in a long while.

      NC chess will be very interesting till the theory is as well developed as classical games... because more errors will be committed ...sort of like early-mid 1900's chess which was interesting partly because people made more errors.

      May be because this particular engine doesn't understand no-casteling variant. Depth might be an issue too.

      @@hemantranga ​ @Hemant Ranga I believe we can turn off castling in Lichess and stockfish will give accurate analysis too. Chessbase India used the same engine from Lichess and it was working perfectly..

      @@ashishacharyanp as far as I know, you can't disable castling. I didn't watch the whole stream, but I saw Sagar moving the rooks and king once and then placing them to the same squares to simulate the variant. If he did something other than this, please do tell me.

      @@hemantranga I checked just now, we can disable castling (short or long or both) in lichess study, and as this analysis was done after the game was completed, it was possible to use the engine with casting off.

      @@hemantranga even then, once you make castling illegal (by moving either king or both rooks), the engine will adjust and give you the proper analysis of the position

      Kramnik, on the other hand, is about a 6'4-6'5 giant.

This kind of sportsmanship is very rare in chess which is an intensive game at a personal level. Kramnik and Vishy are friends of each other for a long time. Moreover, Kramnik has retired from competitive chess. This is a friendly tournament.
