2016 Powerstrokes, the last of the TRUE powerstrokes
I was traveling out west in 2019 in my '17 6.7 and got a CEL. It continued to run well at 19.2 mpg but finally got to a point that it would not accelerate off of stop without a big lag. Took it to a dealer in Utah. They cleared the code and thought maybe needed a new EGR which was not in stock. This was on a Friday and we were due in Denver the next day. Drove it there without shutting it off it was fine, CEL was gone. The moment I turned off the ignition the CEL returned. No dealer support available Saturday in Denver. Family drove us all weekend till we headed home on Monday. Got into Nebraska and all the lights started flashing, 50 mile to limp mode. Found the nearest dealer and got there and got in right away. Walked across the street for lunch and came back and the tech brought me a piece of tape with a small insect wing attached. Told me it was on the MAF wire and caused the CEL. Cleared the code and no problems since. No more aftermarket air filters for me.

Stock air box and intake. It was the air filter put in at oil change place.
You got VERY, VERY lucky to find a competent technician! I could easily imagine the $4000 parts cannon brought to bear.
I like how that damaged connector jumped right out at you when you first opened the hood. Nice job on that repair!
The way that boot piece turns up instead of down makes it look like FoMoCo engineered it wrong. Great repair.

Very nice fix, I had the same thing happened to me when I changed to a new air cleaner system. Thank God my best friend is good at fixing it the engine went out. Thanks for sharing ARod

Those sensors are high on air cleaner plentum, i havent seen one not smushed over, and the tail of it turns upwards.
Those wires aren't going anywhere.. 💪🔌

Another great job keep up the good work I wanted to grab your attention on the 2024 4 x 4 super duty the right hub lock on the 24 super duties does not turn except for the trimmer models my friend and I were looking at them and notice on the right side hub where the vacuum line is supposed to be there are plugs and we noticed that the hub on the right side is permanently locked basically this is a dummy plug I wish Ford would not keep skipping out on parts and accessories please let me know if you have noticed this also.

In the instructions it tells you to solder the wires. that's why there's no butt connectors!
Those instructions are the same that come with ones that do, thanks try again.....

We used to use wireless. No longer. Cable is definitely more reliable with the I D S Especially when you’re trying to collect live data. Sucks losing communication.

I only have the ones with a slit but it seams the solid ones would be more secure.
