You have to give this man props, he is giving you all of the tools to be successful. It's what you do with the information and how you manage your time. Much respect Philip
Here's a thought for your dream video studio: use a scaffold-type framework suspended from the ceiling to support your lights and other necessities. Hang stuff where you need it and use no floor space. Your cabling can be routed through cable runs and be kept out of the way.
Thank you so much Philip for sharing your knowledge with other food bloggers!! I have the same walls :)) down here in FL!! My setup is so simple and I only shoot with cell phone so far but I hope to improve and upgrade a little this fall when kids go to school and I get to have a bit more time to shoot videos. I appreciate all the tips you've shared.
Mahalo for this video, super inciteful. Any recommendations for a multi-cam front and top-down setup? PS: No shame in the cinderblock walls. Knew what state you were in right away. If you know, you know. Cheee
Freak'n love this video brother. I dig the manifesting of your dreams. I'm big into that too. I definitely want my own home studio too. In the meantime, I'll keep dragging the lights and cameras to the kitchen.... And I need that simmer down hat! LOL Cheers
The setup looks great. I picked up a lot of tips. With all of those prison walls, what do you do to dampen the sound echoing? I struggle with this in my spaces that have a lot of hard surfaces. Thanks.
Love that you keep it so real with an actual kitchen like what a lot of us are cooking in. I've felt the same way with rental kitchens through the years and it's never been ideal but made it work and was still able to grow my business and find a lot of success. Great video, love your channel and always learn a lot!
Thank you for sharing this with us. I have not finished setting up a studio for non-cooking shots yet. You have both given me some ideas and reinforced some that I had already considered. Speaking of "manifesting"... you are doing awesome man, don't say "if" so much, throw a "when" in there once in a while.
Awesome tutorial and Thank You. We are testing some things out, and are having an issue with the audio reverb in the kitchen. We have vinyl flooring.Any suggestions to counter the reverb? Thanks!
So for some reason, youtube told me to come to this channel... I'm glad I did! Subbed and I love this! I am trying to create a cooking channel as well!
Thank you for showing your setup, it gives RUclips beginners like myself ideas on how to improve my food review channel! . Have you thought of using a Rode Wireless GO with your Rode VideoMic NTG? (Then you don’t have to run a lengthy cord from camera to microphone). I currently use this setup for my in studio videos and the wireless makes for easy setup and no cord tangles or tripping hazards. I wonder if the audio is better, worse, or the same if plugged directly into my camera with a 3.5mm extension cord or not though…
This is a great questions and such an amazing idea if people never thought of it. I have done this before and it does work. BUT I love that the NTG has the ability to record at 2 levels with a safe -20 track. I think when you run it into the rode wireless go to transmit the audio to the camera I lost this option.... Actually .... damn im not sure now imma check it again!
Okay just double checked and yeah I lost the ability to doe duel track reordering with one track bing -20. I like having that safe track because sometime my audio peaks for things like when I put a steak down for the first time and the noise from the sear is really loud. I cant really "test" those shots to I do my best but sometimes my -0 db one will blow out. andI fall back on my -20 db track.
@@PhilipLemoinethat makes sense then why you’d prefer to plug directly into your camera. The safety track is a nice feature on the NTG. I haven’t messed around with the -20 dB safety track recording with my NTG mic yet, maybe I’ll give it a try on my next video - thanks for the tip!
Man you are amazing!!! Thank you so much for the content and the effort you put into it! You will get 100k easily and soon, also 1mi is not too far away. Your are manifesting and help other manifest theirs wishes too.
You keep on saying "if it works out" - its good to have a dream etc but keep talking about it people will get put off, going on about what other people have is pretty sad. Good luck.
I found your video through the suggested video.First your video are really informative. I just made a youtube channel so I am definitely doing my research. Thanks a lot for your help. Please keep it up. Just subbed
Did you say fiancé Aw man I knew it. Shute Well at least you taught me how to make the best dam Choc chip cookies of my life so thanx. I will be tuned in
Well if you find out she’s not the one I’m around. Lol in fact I’m on Maui and since you always say aloha I think your close by. Anyway I’m starting a cooking channel too and yours is super helpful thank you. It won’t be as good as yours but gotta start somewhere. Chef Page coming to a theater near you.
Your contents are really awesome. I also love cooking and I have no idea where to start with youtube. Now im getting clearity on how we need to set up everything. Thanks for all the guidance that helps me a lot ❤
Great review. You were honest about the downsides. I didn't like the rolling video. And the stabilization Can you suggest a good video camera under 1000 dollars.? I want to make cooking videos and vlogs also.
Great Video as always, just a question. How do you record cooking Sounds and your voice over so u still get two separate audio tracks to use them separate while editing your footage?
Brilliant set up! I have just finished my set up for food videos and I can so relate to many of the points you raised. Thanks for inspiring me. Good luck.
I'm curious, what approximately is the width and depth of your studio area? I have a area that I can turn into a studio I'm just not sure how big it really should be.
Great video dude. I learned a lot. Was thinking of doing a vlog style series on my channel also in a similar way, documenting my journey from noob to pro (I wish lol) Your vids are the easiest to watch I’ve found and relate to me more than other foodie vids.
I just found your YT - a suggestion that appeared as I look for product shooting tips. I am enjoying your content and I admire your openness to show your spaces and to share your ambitions. Very realist person. My wishes for a fast growing. You have what it takes.
Such an awesome setup! Love all the helpful tips! We've done a few vids that we find a bit embarassing with the change in lighting, some too dark, some attempted to color correct, but uploaded anyway. We don't want to take it down because of the views it already gained, but hope to improve from it, so look forward to your video regarding lighting and color temp. The container kitchen/studio setup is a great idea!

In your gear link and more recent videos you say that the 50mm is your go to lens - why’d you switch from 35mm in this video to 50mm?
Watching this video and had to check to see your subscriber count... Congratulations!!! I am so excited to see you grow!! 🎉🎉
What about the tiny monitor?

Ill record my audio after editing the video. So ill record just my voice talking on a new audio track as I watch the edited video.
I am currently watching this video in July 2022, and yes, it has worked out, and you have even passed 100k subscribers 😁
Can you tell me please how many square metres must be a small wooden house for studio?

For setting Focus, should I use Manual focus or auto focus? ( working alone)
I jump between both depending on what I’m filming
It will work out "Have Confidence". Your doing good ☺️ Excellent Tech skills too.
