I was asked to start a RUclips channel bc i am always posting my recipes i cook at home. They are different. This is helping me so much. Out of everyone i searched your the only one that makes it seem understandable.
Thank you so much Philip for sharing all of this with us. It is very selfless of you and I hope that all the help you have provided to others, comes back to you threefold in the most positive form :) bless your soul
Not sure if u will see my comment or no , but let me tell u something U are the most honest person i ever saw in youtube, u really so inspiring for many people , u deserve like and comment and also subscribe, hope to see more videos . God bless u
This was the most informative, comprehensive video about RUclips analytics (and how to manipulate them)...thank you! ....also this IS a real job and you do it well! Keep up the good work!
This was really encouraging for me to watch, especially on a day like today when I've been grinding away editing/prepping blurbs for social media for an upcoming video. Just seeing your excitement at a video that is performing well is what I'm chasing. This might sound fake, but I don't actually think I'm interested in growing my channel for the money at all--moreso to interact with other creators and build a community around my content. Of course a paycheck is always nice, but my approach is way different this way than if I were using the platform to make ends meet. Thanks for making this!
No it doesn't sound fake at all! I 100% feel the same way! I just love making videos! I love helping people. I love making videos that help people ahhaha. if I can make money off of that and figure out a way to leverage that to go full time it just give me more time to make more helpful videos! 10+ years ago I never believed it was possible to get paid doing something you enjoyed doing. Then I started my video company and it happened. I just want to be able to show other people that its possible and give them they tools or steps they need to make it happen too!
I love how you break down step by step to create RUclips Videos...I am trying to create a bubble cross cocktail channel...Thank you for your time and effort...Appreciated your work ! Cheers !!
Great Video Philip!! You are the best teacher I have found on RUclips and I am so happy for your success!! When I actually make some money I will be buying you more coffees! I am forever grateful for you and your channel
Thanks! I just got monetized, literally 5 days ago and I'm trying to figure it out as well. Especially the monetization and collaborations and what to charge or how to approach the companies that have been emailing me to collaborate and if I should charge them if they send me the products or what?! I want it to become a business and I too see the potential! So we all win, my viewers, the companies and me! why not right?! Still confused but thanks for your time in making this video!
Hey Phillip just wanted to say that this video was so encouraging. I have a baking channel and have been doing this for the last 18 months. All the while not fully knowing what was possible money wise. Looking at your results really encourages me to push on. Thanks for the video.
Hi! Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes I felt the same way when I first started and after getting a little income it got me excited to keep making videos! I hope my videos help! Keep up the good work!
@@PhilipLemoine It sure does. If it is not too much to ask, it would be of great help if you could do a video on monthly income from youtube as it will help motivate even further as to what is possible on a monthly basis. If you can't make that I completely understand, just thought of asking 😊
I loved watching this video. Just started my cooking channel and you gave me hope after so much frustration. You made laugh. I will be looking forward to more videos from you!!
Yes, more videos like this, please. Maybe the lumpia video attracts a segment of viewers that is more specific and YT is able to have more targeted ads? Or you had less competition and adding original content, which is not the case with chocolate chip cookies. I am not sure, there might be something around that.
Great video! Thank you so much! 🙏 I'm wanting to start a food related channel with my husband because we are very passionate about food, and this was a very helpful vidoe, so thank you! 🙏
these videos of yours have been so helpful, I am professional chef and have worked at some of the world's top restaurants and as im getting sick of cooking professionally due to the amount of hours worked have always thought of doing cooking videos, your Chanel has been so helpful thank you so much
Really motivating...at the time I m watching this vid it has 1528 views. Really few for how much value it provides. I was always interested to see the analytics of successful videos, and something I often seen is that things look like the video wont do anything and from nowhere starts to climb up. Especially when your channel was small and you didnt have many subscribers to give an initial kick to the video with their engagement.
This was really cool to see. I love the behind the scenes stuff. Any tips on actually shooting the b roll? I have watched your video on how you shoot the whole video on iPhone but I’m looking for actual tips on how to transition from one shot to another. TIA
I only have a 293 subscribers but when I see what other channels are producing I get excited because I know that I can do better in the future. Cheers to everyone.
Thankyou.. im thinking about starting a youtube video.. all of the info are very detail n informative.. ur channel is amazing 💐🌸❤️ pls keep on making new videos
Looking forward to more videos like this! It would be interesting to even revisit this video now to see how much it has earned and grown your account. I searched chocolate chip cookies and you're still up there at the fifth spot!
I was trying to figure out the same stuff too, only thing I could think of is that the 2 different videos produced different types of ad's or maybe triggered more of them. I have a video on my gaming channel with 87k views and its made $1299 in 2020 while I have a video with 28k views that made a tiny $49 and another in the same bracket at 24k views that made $309. Majority of my videos on that channel made less than $10 each so cant quit my day job lol.
Great video! I love how honest you are in this video! Thanks for letting me know about your channel! Will definitely check out more videos when I get a chance! Especially the cookie video!
Thank you for taking the time to pay it forward. I am right behind you about to start making RUclips cooking videos full time. I believe I have some great ideas and I have some actual experience having worked with Food Network. I am just deciding on equipment now. Not sure what I am going to do but I am hoping a pair of Samsung Galaxy S20's will suffice as cameras. Also my idea requires that there are 2 people with lapel mikes in the shot. So I have to figure out how to do that. I can see everything in my head and I know exactly what to do to make some killer content I am just technologically handicapped. Anyway, thank you so much.
In case no one told you yet, the likely reason for the financial difference in your lumpia video, is that youtube pays more depending on where the viewer lives. Lumpia gets less typical clicks than a chocolate chip cookie. The less likely the geographic area is to be watching RUclips, the more money they give you to add them to the viewership. Make sense?
Hi Philip Thanks for this video it is so interesting and helpful. I am just starting to make a few cooking videos and am having a challenge getting my lighting right. I have a small unit and the kitchen is one end of the living room with no natural light, the light is all at the other end with a whole wall of light glass balcony doors, so am relying on artificial light only. I tried a ring light and it gave very flat results. Now I have a neewer 660 bi color led panel and I clip on a foldable see through reflector to try and soften it, its ok but still not ideal. Given that you have tried the cheap "2 softboxes kit" from amazon with the screw in bulbs versus the larger 1 led aputure 100d light in a big round softbox with grid and I also saw in one of your videos the lantern in the background, can you please suggest which is the best set up and gives the softest light? Plus keeping in mind I have a small space. Thanks so much :)
I think the CPM is changing according to the countries of your viewers. For example, if most of your viewers are from USA, the CPM can reach 15$. However, if the majority of the viewers are from Africa ( I don't know, I've just picked a name) your CPM may reach 5$. That's what makes the difference.
One of the reasons why the Lumpia video may have done better was the buying power of the audience. My grandkids love to watch baking videos. They may bug their parents for whatever product but the ultimate buying power still rests with the parents. Therefore, if the targeted audience has the buying power that the advertisers are looking for it may explain the higher ranks for your Lumpia video. So one of the questions is who is actually watching your video. Just a thought.
Hi Philip! Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and pointing people in the right direction that are getting started on youtube! I was wondering if you could do a video about comparing videos posted in short format that long format. Are you seeing more growth on short format? Thank you again!
Interesting about the difference in earnings. Was there a big difference in audience engagement? I didn’t catch the watch time percentage for the lumpia video. Where people in for longer?
The video in which you changed the tags for your video would be really helpful. I think I am at the ingredient stage of tags in that I have words like Beef for a particular recipe and nothing really about the fact that it is a pot roast. I think you should also do your own recipe there are people out there that want their horizons broadened a little. So mix that video in with the lets earn some money videos because at the end of the day you do need to earn an income
This is really cool insight. Thanks for this. Wife and I were possibly looking to start some sort of vlog to journal our start as a new family. Not that we were hoping for any sort of monetization, but this was really cool to see the behind the scenes. Keep em coming, bro!
Thats awesome! I wish I started a vlog a long time ago. Not for any sort of following or money, but just to look back at the videos 10 years later and be like, damn.... That was crazy ahhah. Vlog content is hard to position in search though. A vlog channel is hard to get traction in general. But if you mix in educational content you have learned from starting your family that could really help too. 10 things I wish I knew before I created a human. 5 things you NEED before having a baby. 5 things you DONT need hahaha. How to stop a baby from crying. You get the idea. Good luck man!
