101-I just got into golf about 4 months ago. Have been playing with some 20yr old second hand clubs. In this time with the clubs I have, I have been able to obtain a score of 90 as an average. Having a new set like these. I think I could continue to improve my game. I appreciate the knowledge & information your present here on your channel. I watch all the time. Thanks again!
Hi James! Thank you so much for this video! After thinking and testing a lot of different irons I now really bought a set of these 101's fitted to my specs. They are indeed the BEST looking, most FORGIVING and longest irons I have seen and played before. I wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year from Hamburg. Great unbiased presentation. The 101s look superb! At my age (67 years young!!) I need a set of irons that’s extremely forgiving and long while exerting minimum effort on my part not to mentioned how good it looks.. Need to save all my strength for the entire 18 holes. Very much enjoyed your video. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.

Looks are definitely what get me into the “buying” mindset. However, I’m going home with what fits and feels the best. Example being, the Callaway Apex Pro 21’s are what I thought I wanted, but I went home with Ping I210’s
The pings are great, forgiving and look good

101 love your videos and am trying to decide on a 2nd hand set of irons. Its difficult with all the options available but the Tacomo clubs look amazing and are affordable.

I just bought a set of 101 heads, 4-PW and a 48 degree wedge. Love them. I have Accra T90i shafts in the 4-PW and Accra T100i in the wedge. I am getting a lot more distance than my old TM M6 irons.

Hi James, do you still rate these 101s highly? I am considering them. I play to about 24 at my regular course using a very inexpensive Ram package set which have helped me drop about 10 shots in the past year. Do you think these will help me improve more quickly or should I continue with what I have until is drop to high teens h'cap? Ps, really good video!

2 years later, the Tacomo 101s are still awesome and I am really thinking about getting them. Seem like a great set of clubs that don’t break the bank up front
I just received my Takomo iron heads at the end of July after waiting for 2 months. They were well worth the wait. I had my Aerotech i80 reg flex shaft installed into them and I shot my best round in 3 years last Wednesday. I almost got a hole-in-one on a 130 yd par 3. These do not have the same feel as Callaway Apex forged irons but at 1/4 of the price, they are good enough for me. Distance is deceivingly good. I wish that they made an approach wedge.
Did you have to pay import duty into thr UK?

The wait time for customized clubs was said to be 6weeks, min arrived just over 4 (so that was a win). Unfortunately, I live in a place that is quite cold during the winter, so my first round with them won’t be until spring.
They look nice.. kinda look like the ping blueprint right??

*101* Those are really nice looking irons. The sound was decent and you seemed to like the feel so I guess that’s good enough for me. Nothing wrong with playing ‘second tier’ golf clubs because most clubs started as such. Sometimes that makes them even better if you like to have something different in your bag.

I like the look of the 101.I’ve played Mizuno for years and used to play off scratch. I played British seniors in 2010 at Carnoustie and have played very little since due to back and shoulder problems, I am at the moment trying to get back slowly and would love to try these clubs.
If I had the opportunity to have had access to affordable clubs that are reviewed; I would def have purchased them. Critical honest reviews are important. I've seen great reviews for great brands that don't actually stack up.

101- I am currently playing some irons that are not forgiving whatsoever and since I typically shoot in the high 80's, I have been really looking forward to playing something like this! I have been wanting to buy the 101t's for awhile but just haven't been able to save up enough for them so winning them would be such a dream! Also, nice video!

I tried ordering these after seeing this review. Never heard of them before. They were backordered as "built", but the heads were available, so I ordered those, which actually is better, as I'd refer to build them myself. Will be using KBS Tour 105 shafts. Heads will be here in NC within a week. Can't wait. Will report back once I get them and build them. Love your videos James. Keep up the great work!

I am a 20 handicap that loves to play golf and in dire need of new irons, i would love these 101:)
James, some of us would like to see green reading tips. Sometimes from within 5ft, we can't see the break. We only know if the green is dark, it'll be slow, if it's light it'll be fast. We can sometimes feel the break but need more info about pace of the putt also. Thank you.

Thanks James, love the look of the 101s and great video commentary to help describe what you get in these irons. I would definitely recommend for a beginner. I’m not a huge fan of the hollow body construction, but for the value and performance, I would recommend.

I think it's just about keeping up with the Jones's. If you don't have name brands people look at you different. Which is sad. But for that price, I would definitely try them at the shop if I was in the market! Great video!

Great looking irons could really use a set like theses. My son had a stroke at 11 years old and now he's 17 and really loves playing golf. I think with these clubs he could really improve his game.

I am breaking up with my 20+ old Taylor Made midsize Burner, after not playing while raising two kids and work. Seems like they are not what they used to be, or maybe it's just me. Anyway with your channel insight whether win or purchase the Takomo 101 it's a win-win situation.
