Thank you so much, David! WOW! First, I'm flattered to hear you took and enjoyed the course! And second - what a beauty you have created! I'm so looking forward to seeing more of your artwork with my new recipe. I know your combination of artistic talent and experimental approach will let you get the best of it!
Yours is my first subscription where the artist also took the course. Your pour is gorgeous - great work! I cannot wait to start the hands-on! I've been through the whole course, but I haven't been able to find all the medium components, through an affordable vendor and in stock. (Blick is backordered - supposedly, another 18 days.) I hope that this means lots of artists are learning this method and getting ready to try for themselves. She worked hard to make the course, and I'm glad people are interested. It was fascinating.
A resounding endorsement, for sure. She’s able to do some pretty incredible things with her paints, and it’s really great to see that you can take that knowledge and apply it to your own pours and get positive outcomes. Beautifully done, David. 🐻
I love olga soby! She was the first art channel I started watching when I became interested in acrylic pouring. Her art is amazing and she seems like such a sweet person.
You must be a great learner - no surprise! This is beautiful. I've been using a dry canvas on a few blowouts for the vibrant colors. Watching you it's time to use base coats.
That certainly is impressive, I did an online course recently by one of the top Dutch pourers, there really wasn't much support, and I would get the same as watching tutorials from other artists that I respect. I am glad you found the process complete.
Just signed up for Olga’s class, your video is so inspirational. I’m so glad to have found your video today. I love watching you do your magic. “Left Brained Artist” is such a great name. You get that science side of this art form.
Agree with Kathie, you are a great learner. And, of course, analytical. SO helpful to us all. Beautiful results on this piece - thank you once again David!
Merci David pour le code promo: il a bien fonctionné! Ca fait un moment que je vous regarde et oui avec le cours d'Olga vos résultats sont top. Bravo à vous
OMG David - thank you again. This course is so great. I have had some lovely fluid art in the past, and many not as good! What was fantastic was probably luck! Olga really makes this all understandable. Again, seriously, thank you!
I love watching Olga but I thought she used just paint a water for her Dutch pours? I have heard her say that many times...but this pour used other ingredients and the recipe can also be used for cup pours, etc? I am confused....
She has changed up her reciped a bit and uses some other ingredients to help cells form and to mainting color and composition better. Nothing exotic like Australian Floetrol luckily.
Yeah, I too thought just H2O, having heard her say that alot. And I too, am now confused...? I liked that her incredible beauties were made with simplicity of H2O + paint recipe. Figured I just hadn't hit the right ratio/recipe yet. "Olga my dear, what gives? Were you using a 'secret sauce'...?!?"🌞
I'd love to be able to afford her class!! There are several artists on here with amazing classes i love, but, right now we're just trying to keep food on the table and a roof over our head:( But, it's very cool to see the results and how amazing they are!! Just beautiful!!!! :)
omg I love this artist too . I love her rainbow pours ! Question I have all heavy body golden acrylic paints what do you reccomend 3 to 1 ? or 4 to 1 . By the way I just completed my first real art pour after watching you for hours ! lol Although I paint I just started 2 weeks ago with art pours .
3+ to 1. I usually start there and then add more medium until I either have the consistency or the color I want. If I have the color but not consistency then I add water. That goes for most very pigmented high quality paints.
Beautiful painting.. I have always wondered how Olga gets the paint to flow so freely. Did you feel that you got a lot of good info from her class? Great video, as always.
I'm curious if you've tried it on smaller canvases? I took the course but I've been less than successful with my results. I can't figure out if I'm just terrible at using a blow dryer (entirely possible) or if I need to try it on a bigger canvas.
I have her recipe. However it is proprietary information so I won't be sharing it anywhere on my channel. You can get these materials really easy in the US and Canada. Not sure how easily in other places but they are pretty common painting supplies.
im sorry dont say anyone haha i did the couse and no luck mix exactly thinking it was my scales and nope brought 3 new scales all the same stuff i had to wait so long for it to all come to australia you can only imagine the cost lol having it all come here and the bad conversion rate dam no idea why its not working
@@LeftBrainedArtist sure I just have to get it off my friends home the video and can tell you my posts on the group chat in Olga’s corse give me a day or 3 cheers I brought the hairdryer connections as well
Absolutely not I won't give the recipe. That is her porprietary method which I learned by purchasing her course. I won't give that up to people that haven't taken it. That isn't right or honest. That being said, many of the thing I teach on this channel such as consistency and the varying on paint's weight/density should help you create cells with dutch pour consistency paint. These two videos should help ruclips.net/video/Z-fauTeq1Y0/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/4ollf1RthuU/видео.html
@@LeftBrainedArtist I was just surprised to see it on your program. I get where you're coming from. I just it's just a frustration of being disabled I can't say it any other way. And an artist.
That I can completely understand. If you pay attention to your densities and make sure you are putting high density and low denisty next to each other before using your blow dryer and using known cell reactive paint like amsterdam you can still get some pretty awesome effects.@@LuckyDog-v3h
@LeftBrainedArtist she does maybe a bit a varnish or wood conditioner to make it more fluid but not losing the properties like water does to it but floetrol its amazing u get excellent result with that 👌
This makes me mad because it's not fair to us that can't afford it we may be possibly able to save up for any weird ingredients. 😢 I guess it's just for the elite
So if I don’t spend $150 to take the course, I won’t be a successful fluid art painter!😮. That’s about the most disappointing thing I’ve heard in a long while. ❤❤😮😅😅
Taking the course can speed up the learning for sure but it is not required get art you love. Just like painting on your own you can learn to acrylic pour but watching videos can speed up that time to learn.
I watch many videos, especially like yours, where you tell the good and the bad. I have found your videos to be quite informative and helpful. Thank you. I’m actually trying to learn so I can sell them at craft shows and bank some money in my granddaughters savings account. The future looks expensive 😊. I know that I’m not ready to sell them yet. I’m still learning about cracking etc., and I have just started getting better paints. I’m nowhere near ready for the “sealing” them part so I think it’ll be a bit longer. Thanks again

Start with the very basics and master one method. I find that people that skip from technique to technique have the most trouble.

My mom was a school teacher and she always said she'd bring her "son" Jason to school if they made any problems. 😉😂
Well you just sold me..I’m doing the course!
It was so worth it for me.
Does it teach how to mix with homemade medium using glue and water? since it is the one medium that I can afford
No, she only uses her mix which is definitely not the cheaper pouring mediums.
Great job David! It's beautiful. I'll need to save some money her course now 😂
Expensive, no doubt!?
I know right? That is the problem with falling in love with something. That need to pursue and level up. It almost always involves more money.
Did you torch your work at all? Curious.
Very little to pop bubbles.
I may have to investigate this, after i go to my CrimeCon convention in Orlando this September. (It's costing me an arm and a leg.)
That sounds exciting. I assume you are a true crime buff?
