Storm, Hastings pier, Fabio, Grooverider and MC Cool n deadly. My introduction to the combination of dance music and mind altering substances. Great memories!
Nice interview. Still waiting for Raymond to release that great Detroit techno track he wrote in 1993. It was the second track in on his “Grooverider Alive” mix cd. Frikken love that track! There were two versions of it too. The other had breaks and pianos.
What a superb interview, with Fabio & Grooverider, interesting & such nice guys. I've watched part 2 as well. The future guest DJs I'd like to see interviewed are DJ Hype, SS, Ratty, LTJ Bukem, Ratpack. Great job guys,!! 😊 👍😁
“We won’t play a tune twice in the set”. 🤣🤣🤣. Umm 2 Bad Mice “Drumscare” twice at Universe Pleasure Planet 1992... I always found that humorous, they must have really liked that one. I love that set myself, I went out of my way to collect every record they played at that event.
Grooverider is for me one of the greatest ever.. Before dnb and jungle was defined, those 1990/1991 sets were incredible. Still hammer them today. An unbelievable talent.
Cracking me up from time. Need more brothers with this humour! Don’t listen to this if you work in a miserable office! 😂😂✊🏾 big up Roar Just wished you’d asked Fab more about Creative Source for the new school.
Grooverider and Fabio did not invent Jungle! Yes, they are giants of the scene who helped push the sound, via their DJ sets but it was the producers who invented Jungle!
The early producers (lenny de ice, members of what later became 4 hero, a guy called gerald) were inspired to create tunes based on the fusion of deep bass overlayed with breaks that Fabio and Grooverider were playing live on the decks at Rage
@@alsimonuk Incorrect! All the producers you mentioned, produced tracks with breaks and "deep bass" in them before Fabio and Grooverider started their residency at Rage around about 91. Furthermore, producers in the States were using breaks in their House/Techno tracks back in '88, which gave birth to the Hip House thing - tracks like The Jungle Brothers - I'll House You. (Remember that JUNGLE BROTHERS name). Put simply, Fabio & Grooverider never mixed breaks with House, they played Hip House and Hip Hop Instrumentals like some other DJs.
I can see this channel is going to be huge.

Lived and loved the 90s DnB scene, but this interview is like something off CBBC or Blue Peter! C’mon guys, we’re not all kids anymore.

I think you where born in the 90s cmon WTF do you expect them ???

100% facts👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Let's just say they are the godfathers of jungle. Case closed!
Godfathers aren't the actual fathers!
