My all time favourite mc loved your style was just perfect. The first time I heard you was on the seduction set from big bang and loved you ever since. Please come do a few raves when lockdown is over theres many many people who would love to see you perform again. Much love ✌✌
Happy new year Maurice great interview and your the greatest and my favourite jungle/hardcore MC 👊👍
Alright my guy remember me Maurice. I wonder just maybe if you still have the nike watch I gave you after that awesome weekend when me and Dan came to stay at yours brother. Honestly pretty sure it was one of the sickest weekends I've ever had back then Maurice. Moondance all night then back to yours for a mad one on the qwaffy mucks. Aka the daffy ducks.so funny man. Hope you're well my guy you look it. Stay bless love dave. Baddest chatter from the north. x
Bleeding Eck Where have you been hiding, I remember you let's start with 1996 August Helter Skelter, Micky Finn was the last set you were the MCMC, That party was brilliant I was there, Helter Skelter 1997 which was the biggest one 20 thousand people, Rush Hour was brilliant at the Helter Skelter party's at the Sanctuary Music arena, Micro, Mcmc, The memories, stay safe and look after yourself.
MCMC much love. Up we take ya, down we take ya, round we take ya this is HELTER SKELTER :) 7 o clock down in the morn. Thanks for the amazing times
That Carl Cox set will forever be in rave history, Carl and MC MC worked so well on that set and it was so fucking amazing
This guy was the absolute DON! Really popular MC 👊🏻
Don....ain't heard that word for years😉
London's loss was great bonus for Mansfield. During 93-95 Hyper D and MC MC came and gave some legendary performances at Venue 44. Thanks for the upload
"The minute you walk through the door, hardcore" rip Stevie
oh my god, mcmc is such a legend and then went off to US and never heard him again, cant wait to watch this.
My favourite time seeing him was Mickey Finn at Hastings Pier. I will never forget that night.
Ellis dee and MCMC is one of the best combos
100%
My best dj.ellis d ....... Darren Jay..... dazzee 2nd 3rd
💯 ❤
I used to go to vibealite in Mansfield from it's first event at venue 44 in September 93 through to the last night in December 95. MC MC was a resident and he was an AWESOME MC especially with jungle/ Drum and bass.....
6 o clock down in the morn, dj hype is kicking up a storm!! (helter skelter nye 98) ;)
McMc what a legend, one of my all time favourite
Excellent interview again. My neighbour used to be a cleaner at Roller Express in 92 she used to give me flyers and the odd pirate club tape with mc mc on he got me into mc's. Proper entertainer. Looking forward to pt2. Thank you Tom and the crew
Elevation Roller express Lee Valley...we only raved there to see you! 🙌🙌🙌 and Lady Mc. Good good days 🥰
Amazing times loved elavation and pirate club the roller express was mental wasn’t it also fond of 12 dalston lane
The greatest jungle/hardcore Mc in my opinion with the late great Hyper D a very close 2nd
Those 2 together those were dynamite, absolutely phenomenal
MC MC and MC Prince Helter skelter 👌
Litterally one of the best things I've seen about D&B....mcmc absolute legend
Cheers dude.
Can't believe MC's from Goodmayes! That's where I grew up and it's rare to find someone who made any impression in the world from Goodmayes. Made me smile.
Heavyweight, heavyweight pound for pound pound.. Ya know 👊🔥🥊
So good to hear MCMC's take on things and hear why he left the scene when he did. Legendary lyrical super sharp shooter sitting on a roof top. 😉🎤 Heard all the Fantazia Big Bang 93 sets countless times and he was just brilliant on Carl Cox and Ellis Dee. 👌
A legend.
Looking through my telescope i got my target locked! 😉
Start the new year off to a great start!
That was the aim!
@@ROARUKPods I can't tell you how happy I am about this. I've watched countless interviews with rave artists over the last 12 months. THIS IS THE ONE WE WANT. Trust. Maurice IS the voice of old skool without a shadow of a doubt.
Wicked!
What a sound guy really interesting to hear all the stories and details😀
Mcmc is the man
What a nice bloke, humble, no attitude. Remember his sets from my many helter skelter tapes, all amazing, no doubt one of the best ever. Another awesome interview, nice one Tom, big ups to McMc and ROAR
👍All The Helter Skelter raves and other events are now on RUclips, I found myself in a Helter Skelter video 10th of August 1996 Micky Finn And McMc Micky was the last set
One of my inspirations to pick up the mic. What a geeza too!
I was listening to Fabio's Elevation Reincarnation crystal palace 94 set in my car today with you Mc'ing, my god you were and are great
When he mixes the sweet memories with Presha 111 tracks then drops that bassline on the Presh 111 track is absolute dynamite then you MCMC compliments it perfectly with great timing, hype and lyrics
I'll never get tired hearing that 👌👊
What a night!!!!
The Rush Hour set from Helter Skelter, Time and the Mickey Finn from Helter Skelter Odyssey are my 2 favourite DnB tapes from growing up.
Maurice is on both (obviously regarding Rush Hour) and those sets cemented my love for his style.
The guy's a legend! Much love!
i just love this man !! BIG UP ONE AND ALL, RAVERS STAND TALL
the original don 👌🏻🔥 mc mc and swan-e the dream team
You can hear him on the tapes
But live he was on another level
See him at tons of races all through 1995
Check him out on dr a gatchet set keep the fire burning tape
Legend
That was the tape that got me in to jungle/DnB! Still have that cassette 😀
Yea I misplaced all my tape packs over the years
Thank fuck for RUclips
Future myth Nicky black market Mc Mc That tape was Doing the rounds in 1993
Fucking loved it coulden wait to leave school in a few years and get out to the raves
DR DR DR S GACHET GACHET!! what a set MC MC was the man on this.
Awesome MC, loved him at Helter Skelter in 98/99 and recently seen him at moondance in london about 3 years ago
I met Morris at a rave in Morecambe at the dome and we hit it off straight away swapped numbers and two weeks later he invited me to go and stay with him at his flat in East London we had a mad night out at bagleys I met mc Prince dj zinc and spoke to one of my heroes on Maurices phone dj monk Morris was an awesome guy really humble. And he looked after till I got on the coach to go home. Honestly the best weekend I have ever had. He was a really amazing guy. Sadly lost touch a long time ago bless up Morris. xxx
Wicked man, great story, thanks for sharing!
Great MC. Really under-rated. Loved him on Hardcore sets.
Same!
I don't think MCMC is underated, Maurice was at a event in London a couple of years ago, The crowd still love MCMC especially when it's a event many of us grew up with
@@chantelleroberts9024 I defo think he is when you see the likes of the same MC's that got the Hardcore bookings constantly compared to him
Looking forward to part 2.
I absolutely love this. He is a real kind soul. Awesome human being. Total legend. ❤
Absolutely brilliant part of my life raving and listening to mcmc growing up.
Legend I see him at moondance a few years ago had to say hello.
Sound of the Music Maker track by Mc Mc Was and still is one of my all time favourites.
Legend! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE!
“London New York Paris, some MC’s get embarrassed” MCMC what a don & legend. Slipmatts birthday set Vibealite & Dr S Gachet keepin the fire burnin Helter Skelter are 2 of my fave sets he was on.
Wow the politics of the rave scene, nice to hear transparency on the darker side of the scene..👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Played this interview twice now, so good!
One of the few MCs who could enhance a set rather than chat rubbish over mixes.
Yes yes MC MC
It's A Party...
imo maybe the best MC of them all, certainly in the early 90's , hearing him with Slipmatt was something special. His voice was so pure and his lyrics went with the music, and he most of all knew when to stop. Why current MC's dont learn from the likes of MCMC is beyond me. His MC'ing on Sy's set at Dreamscape 25 is a masterclass in how to do it. I urge anyone to check that out.
Heard most of his stuff bro and he is a minority. Unfortunately now they believe it is all about the mc and they don't know when to shut up. They even chat all over the mix. 95 percent are shite now haha 👊🏼
Slipmatt birthday set at vibealite with MC MC... 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
“Who wants it who wants to rewind! I know that Sy set old skool
Wow what a nice guy and he was an amazing MC. Was only listening to him the other day, Mickey Finn 96
Fucking hell mc mc elevation roller express he is definitely in my top three of mcs
From what he says at 4 minutes In it was the journey as well as the destination.
Great interview. Legendary MC! 🎤💫
Oh wow mcmc! I cannot wait to check this one out 👌🏻
Just found this channel. Started with this interview & of course had to listen to DJ Rap after. Really enjoying it. Nice one 👍
The best MC I ever saw! Had some massive nights at Vibealite, Venue 44 and Helta Skelta…… always prayed MCMC would be on the set list wherever I raved!!
No way would you of wanted to be seeing DJ Rap In the 90s imagine all the DJs And Mc's checkin for her then......Like ant's on a sugar cube...She was and is gorgeous.
Wish U guys still put up these shows well enjoyed world wide.. Perth Australia represent brahhh
Brilliant interview, intelligent and charismatic! nice one Maurice

Wow what a treat...up there with stevie hyper as the greatest for me...such a cool bloke...I used to stair up at him in ore at the sanctuary....Thanks for this
No worries. Very welcome. You from Shrewsbury?
@@ROARUKPods originally yeah I live in Cambridge now I'm mates with Charlotte and Matt...
Ah... Tom went to school and was great friends with Matt before he left Shrews for London aged 14. Matt gave Tom Charlotte’s old tape packs - they were the first ones he owned!
Elevation mate. Smashed it.
Wow.
If mcmc was to come to perth austrslia id pay just to see this man no matter who was dj"ing
Mc Mc is a legend I rember raveing on stage with him at the pirate club wicked night
One of the greats mcmc mc nice oh shitttt where is that guy thesedays?
ELEVATION!!!! YES!!!!! Best fucking London raves by a country mile.
IMO Definitely one of the best MC's if not the best MC of the 90s rave scene. Being a Mansfield local lad and hearing him on a lot of the early Vibealite tape packs he was just awsome. Sadly never saw him live as a bout 5 years too young at the time.
The DJ Ratty set at Vibealite with Maurice MCing is absolute quality. Check it out if you've never heard it.
Oh and as for the book you mentioned "thinking with PMA" do you know exactly what the book was called? I give it a read. Massive respect, such a great interview 👏
Got a link to that set mate?
Place hes talking about..first time raving was that rough house club hes describing on waterden rd. I cant remember the name near the sewage works
. Anyone remember. Respect to mcmc by the way. Great
dj hype gq and mcmc, best tapes simple as that
"When you come down in the morn!"
There’s an early reference to that lyric...not sure he got it mind you! 😂
@@ROARUKPods Thanks for doing these interviews, haven't heard from MCMC in years.
Massive blow your whistle, massive blow ya horns!
You’re welcome. Literally our pleasure.
My mind starts travelling...
What the fuck?! First time he MC'd at a big rave was Big Bang for Carl Cox!? That set is legendary and MC MC is super tight on that set. I'd never have known that was his first time... Mind blown! 😆 Fantastic interview. #audioboom
Brilliant set wasn’t it!
Wow his style was different I had that tape but didn’t connect the dots haha
It want his first set. Fantazia Big Bang was 1993. He was about well before that.
Well, I think that was his first big event. He was on a fair few flyers in '92 at smaller events and, of course, had his stage experience with Nu-Matic.
Yeah he was about during 92 with Elevation, Pirate Club and Life Utopia at Roller Express which held 3000 ravers but the big bang 93 was huge!
helter skelter keeping the fire burning 95 . mc mc dr s gachet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOIZE NOIZE NOIZE NOIZE!!!!!!!!!
Norrrrrrtttteeeee....voice of skelter for me....ledge.
Gg
man i wanna hear that kool fm tape :D
Carl Cox fantasia mcmc best set ever .legendary
omg :) great news! can you ask what happened to the documentary named "Faces indie Jungle" by and with the involved mcmc any years ago? i've only seen the trailer a long time ago, the because i search and google for it time by time without finding usually infos or stuff. hope you can still the ghostquestionmark in my working longtimememory thoughts :) massive big ups to you and the crew for all you do!
Too late I’m afraid, the interview isn’t live, it’s pre-redcorsed. Maurice will be asleep on LA! Though I have asked him for you!
🙌🤗
Good point. That trailer looked amazing. I’ve also searched for it for years.
Great Mc . Thought he was better on Happy/Four beat than jungle.
Roller express week in week out
Whats your worst Quality
"Being right" Okay pal lol
Great interview
When’s part 2?? 😉
Next Friday....
Kenny Ken 7 April 1995 United dance tape it’s on RUclips
Well worth a listen
I'm sure mc'd at fantazia before big bang. Isn't he on a 2nd birthday set?
Dunno mate, he said it! 🤷♂️
He's on the Ellis Dee set from Fantazia NYE 92 - 93 and yeah he was at 2nd birthday as well think he just meant huge crowd but don't know one of the best sets I heard was Helter-skelter Energy 97 with Dr S Gachet 🙂
I spose when you've mc'd the amount of gigs he has it would be easy to get mixed up... I sure know most the parties I've mc'd or raved at just get mixed into one lol
In this interview Maurice talks about a book he once read about a Positive Mental Attitude, Was the author of the book written by Napoleon Hill? He doesn't mention the author
Ask him yourself in the text box at 7pm tomorrow mate!
Did you manage to find this out?
How he get in l. A convict
Interview dance concept
Shut your eyes, think back to the raves. Who are the voices you hear? For me, it’s MCMC and GQ.
GQ Because Of World Dance
MCMC Because of Moondance And Helter Skelter
MC Set
MC five O
MC Fearless
I meant MC Det and Hyper because I'm from West London so was Hyper he was from Fulham
Mc mc, Ribbz, GQ , Robbie Dee,
If Maurice is 55 how was he born in the seventies? Simple math would equate 1966.
sounds like he does not know his name either and I don't mean that nasty its just he only found out at the docs
Can’t be Big Bang cause he was doing elevation by then with hyper d
Yeah, he admits his memory isn't bob on, 30 years on!
@@ROARUKPods I wrote that before I finished watching lol looking forward 2 part 2, Great work
