- The Holosun SCS is a great choice for your Glock MOS. I am currently using the SCS on my Glock 19 MOS Gen 5.

I should have mentioned under a full charge the battery will last 20,000 hours.
You should also mention ANY light charges it, not just sunlight. Even your gun safe light.
@@volbrenYTincorrect. It’s literally in the name of the optic, SCS (solar CHARGING sight) it has an internal battery that is ONLY able to be replenished BY the solar panel. So yes, it does charge the sight. All other optics by holosun use the solar panel as a back up or when light is sufficient, the solar panel will provide power while using less battery to preserve it. Holosun has many different optics that use different systems, not all their optics with solar panels use them the same way.
I have one and really like it: the only thing I wish it had was "shake awake". Without the "shake awake" feature you have to stay proficient with Iron sights.
I didn’t know this optic isn’t shake awake?
It just stays on
But a Streamlight tlr1 cover for your light. It will stay clean when shooting.
I just bought one. Had an issue with the reticle sent it back, 3 weeks later!! Still no optic! Getting really annoyed now.
Pencil erasers work really well for cleaning carbon off glass. Your poor light...
I will clean it this week!! 😉
Rub chapstick or some other lip balm on the light lens before you shoot. Simply wipe off the muzzle blast crud with one swipe and you have a clean light.
I LOVE my SCS on G19. I have the Holosun 507k on a separate pistol and it’s not the same!!
What if my Glock is inside of a fingerprint safe and it sits for a long time in the dark. If the SCS MOS is meant to always be on, is this gonna work properly since it sits so long in the dark?
It has built in battery as well
Well, Sage Dynamics says it has a 50,000 hr shelf life and resets that time anytime u take it out with sunlight or ambient light. So I guess if u don't take it out of the safe for 50,000 hrs straight it might not work.
I just mounted one on a gen4 G40 MOS. It winds up slightly too narrow on the slide. Makes getting to the button a fingernail op. Were the optic wider, target acquisition would be faster too. But I'm not aware of a competing optic that fits the wider slide Glocks (10mm, 45) correctly. I'm not interested in adaptor plates.
Holosun is the best for my astigmatism

Content ideas:
Can you test gauze vs cotton tee shirt for wound packing?
And maybe tourniquet with tee shirt (without tightening windlass) vs compression bandage?
The plastic dovetail protectors on Glocks aren't sights. Angry Bear Arms makes very affordable BUIS.

Only tq with an aluminum rod
Great vid thank you. I'll wait till they come out with a replaceable battery that's rechargeable.
I have one and it works great
@skinnymedic what flashlight is that & what holster do you use?
I didn't know they made a smoke/subdued streamlight
Is the auto brightness reliable for drawing from concealed. Does it adjust immediately from being in darkness in pants?
Yes. The auto adjust isnt noticable in the slightest.
@@joshuabracke5775 awesome definitely gonna run this on my first ccw
@@captain603 I'm stoked for you! My first ccw was a Makarov back in 2015 way before optics were mainstream on pistols. If I could start all over, it'd be a G19 w/ SCS.
@@joshuabracke5775 im thinking g19 or g45 undecided
@@captain603 cool. You can't go wrong with either.
Just a matter of whether you can conceal the G45 effectively or if you have bear paws for hands.
Can you even have an ND with that light!? (there’s so much carbon).
As always, thank you for your videos!
I need to clean it for sure!
@skinnymedic clean the lens off and then put 2 small drops of gun oil on the lens and rub it all around the lens of the flash light so if it builds with carbon it wipes off super easy
I use lip balm on the gun light works just as well as Gun oil.
I just wish I could go a little dimmer with mine.
Good content as always. Thanks
just got one works and looks great, but still they should have made one with a 1 MOA.
You’re not that guy pal.
Excellent video, thanks
Seems like it’d be ideal if it had the option for red and brightness control
Red option is available
I miss your podcasts on trauma etc
We are working on recording another episode in the next few weeks.
Thanks
Looks familiar…
Needs a brightness button
it has one just press function button shortly while it's on
Buddy did not watch the video
I have one on my G45, love it
Me too brother ❤️
Me 3 😂
Looking to add one to a G45 as well
How is it holding zero ? After how many rounds?
Gonzalez Karen Gonzalez Carol Lee Daniel
will it not fit a 43x?
No it is for the double-stack MOS Glocks.
Holosun now makes the SCS Carry which fits single stack Glocks
If you have an astigmatism……do not buy this. Only comes in green and 2 MOA.
And you can not manually customize the brightness to compensate the star bursting or spider legs effect.
It’s just bright and slightly less bright, which is still bright.
Thank you for this comment. I too have the same issue and was watching this video interested in this concept. You just saved me some time and money
I have an astigmatism and have this on my G19. It’s my first green dot and can see the green much better than the red. All the dots I buy in the future will be green.
@@davidbennett5905 green is easier to see. Your astigmatism may be less severe than mine. But this optic star bursts all over the place with my eyes. Because of the lack of brightness options I can’t find a sweet spot to where it’s not too bright to mitigate the starbursting effect l see.
I have an eps carry in red and green. Green it to harsh for me. But l can work with it be cause l can lower the brightness.
You have two manual settings with this optic. Not good for everyone.
This isn’t exactly an accurate blanket statement. I have the rifle version of this site in green and it’s the crispest dot I’ve ever owned. Then again I’ve tried other dots others said was best for their astigmatism and it was a mess for my eyes.
@@shmoopsIII it’s starbursting for me worse than my red dot. I have two 2 moa rod carry’s one in red and one in green.
The only thing that allows me to be mitigated the starbursting effect is the fact l can control the brightness and adjust to my eyes.
With this optic your stuck with their preset brightness values.
That’s more so my point, your at the mercy of the auto brightness setting which doesn’t account for users who suffer with an astigmatism from older eyes.
Thank god I can put this guy on 1.5x
More Chinese mid-tier gadgets, more money for the CCP.
Edit: And this was posted on a Made in Japan machine, for everyone missing the replies.
where was the machine you used to post this made?

Crazy how many people act like there's no alternatives. There's smartphones, laptops, all manner of electronics made in democratic countries that AREN'T committing genocide. Same for optics. But Americans are easy to market to...
