I've been driving nearly a year now and i still suck at reverse bay parking, so if you're seeing this and you're a learner - don't panic! I completely flunked my maneuver in my test too, there's nothing wrong with just pulling into a parking space if you don't feel comfortable doing this. Im here because i think its about time i learned properly haha!
Omg I'm the same!! It's been about 3 years since I've been driving and in those 3 years I've only ever done 2 bay parking. It's also about time I've learnt properly too.
@Islam IS The Solution yh I would imagine they would mark it as a minor as you only messed up a bit as long as you don't do nothing majorly serious like go through a red light lol 😂 but reverse bay parking all you would have to do Is if you feel like your wheels are not inside the bay lines properly just edge forward abit more and try to readjust I'm scared too!! Because I've got my driving practical Friday and I already know they are probably going to ask me to attempt this so it's scary
The video is very educative, but it will be better if you can highlight the target bay and the bay three bays away from the target bay, with different colours to make it easy for viewers to see.

my driving test is tomorrow and the reverse bay park is what i’m most worried about. thank you for this video and all of your other ones!!! it’s made this week much easier
I passed My Driving Test First Time On: 7/3/2019. I watched this video during my Seven Months of Learning to drive. I am so pleased and many thanks. The guy in the video is a really good driver :-)
Thank you so much for these videos!!! I had this manoeuvre on my first test and completely messed it up but continuously watched these videos a few times a week for a month and passed second time with one minor!!! Honestly amazing, each video is so hopeful for new drivers
Almost a year after passing my test, I finally have a car and I've realised I'm still useless at bay parking. So I'm back on this channel 😅 (but it feels so good to be watching these videos now, knowing I've passed my test...)
I've recently subscribed and have been driving for many years now! While everything is now habit, it's really nice to refresh my memory from time to time. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your awesome videos! I passed my driving test in the third attempt today and I wanted to record my sincere appreciation of your quality videos and teachings that have shared, which has immensely helped me to correct my driving techniques.
I had this in my test. I ended up doing a forward bay park and then just reversing back into the bay behind. I was lucky to not have any other cars in the bay and they accepted this so I passed. But now I have a parking camera so it's easier to do a normal 90 degree bay park
Thanks for your video. I was asked to do a reverse bay parking on my test which I did successfully after watching with hints from this video and passed my test.
I've had my licence for a couple years now but I've not driven in months and have completely forgotten how to reverse and parallel park 🥴 but this video is great for brushing up on it, I should probably go out and practice now 😂
Just wanted to say thank you for these videos this has helped me improve my positioning when completing forward and reverse bay parking. And I am glad to share this news with I managed passed my test this morning with your guidance.
Thank you for these videos. I passed my test on Wednesday but now I need to work out my reference points to nail the parking in my tiny little car. I'll give this a try but I think I'm just going to have to work it out myself!
It just cracks me up, I’ve been driving for a few years now and teach people how to drive performance cars on tracks but to this day I’m a absolute state when I’m parking regardless of the situation 😂 tbf my excuse is that I’ve got adhd so with parking I end up just overthinking the whole thing lol 👍
As I have my exam tomorrow feeling relaxed and confident 😊 Hope for a pass these really helped I was using just Advance School videos as they are well detailed and precise
Have my test on the 14th of October and I'm practicing as much as i can. I really hope to pass first time. The reverse parking is my fear as sometimes I get it and other times I don't
I learn count 4 full bays passed target bay where my head is then stop level with 3rd bay then half of turn right wheel upside down then full lock right before i go in chosen bay then when i see my line and passengers i straighten or i adjust a bit to left or right to straighten if i need to but thanks to you two I'm better with it.
I dont understand why reverse bay is preferred, if you are shopping(which most people will be when parking) then you're going to want to be able to get to the boot with the shopping... cant do that when there is no acess after reversing especially if the car park is busy. at least with forward bay you back is to the road so you can unload your shopping into your car.
My instructor taught me this method, but he had a different explanation of when you need to steer into the target bay as opposed to this video. The way he explained it worked was that you turn to full lock when the back wheel of the car hits the bay before the target bay. It does work, although I've also tried the steering method in the video and it works also. Could be that it varies for different cars as the car he uses is different from the one in the video obviously. One thing that I've learned by heart about this maneuver is that you should look at your rearview mirrors to see if the bay lines of the target bay are visible and straight as that should tell you that you are in the bay perfectly.
He makes it look so easy! I’m still learning at the minute but i can drive I just struggle with gears I have terrible anxiety and don’t think I will be able to ever get the whole driving thing
Thanks for this video and it's very helpful and had answered much of the questions I had! Passed my test at first attempt in my instructor's Toyota Yaris but reverse bay parking in my SUV (Mazda CX5) without those lines is such a hit and miss so I'm trying to figure out the reference points.
If reversing into bay next to a parked car, you've got to hope that they are within their own bay lines. Unfortunately, there are selfish drivers out there that take up two bays.
Hello and thank you for making this video series. However I strongly feel the size of Bay (how wide a bay is) has given different results. I had real trouble using this technique in a wider (than most)parking Bay. Could you please add references for in case wider/in case narrower Bay situations that would be more helpful.
You’re right - the size of the bay can affect when we need to turn. But so do many other factors, such as the type of car we are driving, the position of the drivers seat, the speed of the car etc etc. This is why any reference point is personal, and cannot be guaranteed to work for anyone else. Regard our reference point as a rough estimate, and then ‘fine tune’ it as required for yourself.
