Rujuta, my love and respect for you is endless. Thank you for opening our eyes to the bigger picture, always, and helping guide us in this age of misinformation.
Rujutaji, thank you for being such a positive ambassador of local and seasonal food. I grew up in a household where we had rice, dal and bhaji daily. In fact one of my favourite and soul soothing things is to eat with my hands...I have fond memories of my mum, my grandmother and mami feeding me with their hands so lovingly. As a kid, it felt like the most awesome thing. Felt pampered and loved.
All my life, I couldn’t admire anyone, I didn’t look up to anyone and ever said that this person inspires me or i wanna be this person. But after listening to u for soo sooo long I swear I look up to you and says proudly that this woman inspires me, swear by listening to u how to eat out cultural food i lost 13kg by eating home made food and working out everyday, I didn’t opted for any diet or any group of food but had what my mom makes everyday gharka khana, I had both veg and non veg. Can’t Thankyou enough for giving such a rooted knowledge in a world full of fool and misguided mentors. Love you ❤
Actually we're not getting enough amount of protein required in our body by routine thali we eat at home. A person needs protein intake according to our body weight, and when we don't get that much one feels low and loss of energy. Suppose if a person's weight is 50kgs then your body daily needs 50-60gm of protein. One cup of dal gives only 8-10gms or one egg gives only 5-6 gms of protein or a handful of nuts just gives around 6gms.
I decreased protein in my diet after getting inspired by your videos, coz it's not easy on the digestive system to eat protein every day. I kept working out at same length. Within a few days my muscles started weakening. Protein is a necessary evil, looks like. Also, westerners hardly pair their meats with carbs, just veggies. It works fine for them.
Mam, I follow all your instructions and inculcating the same guidelines for my growing up little kids....No one can believe I am in late 30s....loads of respect from Canada
Hello Rujuta, I like how you keep emphasizing on age old traditions and to not give up on cultural food. But I would like to know more about why there "might" be a need of adding more protein to our diet. Why people doing exercises "might" need to add more protein. Does protein help to make you feel fuller?
Hello mam, I always keep following your videos ,will you please tell us how to control morning hungar to weight loss. As It is not control by me . I am habitat with daily wakeup early so it can happen with me daily . Please suggest about it, Thank you
Hello Mam as always yr guideline are excellent superb ❤pls it’s a request make video on menopause. Many womens are facing after 40 . I am facing with it lots of symptoms like osteoporosis, uric acid , stress, anxiety. Low calcium hemogolbin etc . Dr hv put me on diet no pulses no milk products no dal no onion garlic etc . Many womens are facing this in huge ratio pls Mam want yr guideline if u can help Mam thank you 🙏 ❤ god bless you ❤❤❤❤ as I said I adore 🥰 u . U are superb excellent 👍 ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for your continued guidance on improving our diets and value local sources. Would like to know if someone wants to build their muscles then what amount of protein would you recommend? And how can one get it ?
Thank you for sharing such a valuable knowledge. For kids having so many sports activities, do they need to take extra protein or regular food what we eat is enough.
Wonderful it is. Please please please milk pe bahut myths hain these days. Local vendors pure nhi provide krte, packet milk tastes like milk powder. Ye guilt bhi door kr do yr n milk pure hai which we are consuming, uska ghar pe check krne wala way btao....it's highly needed. Thanks in advance
In your book lose weight not your mind, you have mentioned that people who work out should take whey protein... I follow you ardently and thats why I have included whey protein in my diet.
One shouldn't eliminate carbohydrates but I do feel that Indian Vegetarian diet lacks protein so unless you're are adding panner or any other source of protein on a DAILY basis you feel that gap. Panner or any other protein is was not something people ate conventionally on daily basis as far as my people, culture and family is concerned. I have personally felt the difference, protein is essential part of your balanced diet. Pulses and lentils barely have any protein so mostly panner it is, again there are other sources but most of vegetarian sources are not very high in protein. Protein energizes and satiates you while conventional Indian vegetarian food is too high on carbohydrates and makes you feel bloated and lethargic and you can keep eating and it is never enough and even after that you don't feel very energetic. WE ARE ALSO THE DIABETES CAPITAL OF THE WORLD. We also carry certain kind of genes which puts us at a higher probability to have it.
Agreed.. also we should realise that just because it was done by our ancestors in the past it was right..humans are constantly evolving and learning.. many of our grandparents n parents have diabetes n hypertension coz they ate what their parents fed them.. yes getting the basics right is important but got to learn through trial n error..like milk is not the same anymore the way its produced by all those injections given to cows n all.. it should be a balanced diet and also depends on ones goals..
We aren't the ' DIABETES CAPITAL OF THE WORLD' , far from it....we aren't even in the top 50. Pakistan has the highest diabetes rate in the world, India is 64th.
Agreed. Vegetarian diet lacks protein. It's important to have a balanced meal. But there should be some focus on protein especially if you are doing strength training. Also, traditional practices were great but we had different lifestyle at that point. Now, we don't live like how are grand parents used to live. So some tweaks have to be made.
Indian diet is higher in carbs.. sticking to basics is right.. but she never talks about portion control. How much rice/chapati to eat?.. rightly said our grandparents ate certain foods and yet they had diabetes, BP, cholesterol . We need to evolve & not blindly follow what our grandparents ate. Some knowledge is to be picked up & some to be left behind
Hello dear Kindly provide suggestions related to non absorption of iron intakes.. specially in chronic anemia where some studies r suggested to skip all d common iron rich intakes as like spinach fibres oats nuts skiny fruits non hemo kinda plant based stuffs lentils even most of vit C rich fruit thats helpful in absorbance in iron these all r suggested to skip in anemia then it falls under confusion what to take in this critical condition.. Kindly talk abt it all.. Thanks
Hi Mam.. you have never talked about water consumption in your videos.. some people say to drink more water .. some says drink when you thirsty.. some says don’t drink before food and after food for Atleast 45mins. Don’t know which is correct
I was told that when you eat idli sambar and chutney..there's no protein in it so incorporate dahi in chutney...but my mother never added dahi in coconut chutney...
Well said. Diverse foods help to maintain the good bacteria in the gut. Love listening to Your practical advise. Thankyou so much for helping spread knowledge .

True. I have to keep eating if I eat carbs and skip protein - a typical Indian meal - satiety just doesn't come.
