Bmx riders of today ride much much harder than these guys.. these guys did start the awesomeness of riding tho.. they still hang out and ride like these guys as well...... all the same just a different time
Your comment just moved me to tears. Me and my buddies loved our bmx bikes. Waxed and polished them weekly. My best bud passed away some years back. Of all the bmx bikes we all each had I alone have my bmx still. The rest of my buds bmx bikes met some unknown fate. But a weekly ride to the bike shop to check out cool stuff was the absolute best of times.
Movie is 90% montage with a killer soundtrack of the best part of the 1980’s. There is never enough thunder in anyone’s hearts to quench the thirst of the awesomeness of this movie.
Before this movie, the ONLY other time I saw pros in action was in the Mountain Dew commercial from 1984. I lived in an area where Frreestyle shows never happened so I only knew what I saw in the pages of BMX Action & BMX Plus! You can imagine my excitement the first time I saw this movie back in 1986, we had a large screen TV as well so for me it was like going to Disney World in the living room of my parents house...
What else if not this? Sums up my childhood more or less. RAD is a feeling, a belief, an attitude I am so privileged to be born into and share with all of you guys. This is what brings the Thunder back into my heart.
Man my buddy has been telling me to watch This movie for the better part of two years. I sat and watched it the other day and honestly, it’s one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen in my life. I wish I saw what y’all see. This is a bad film.

This is my favorite movie came out the year I was born I had a chance to watch it in 1991 I was 5 years old now I’m 36 and still ride bmx fun sport 👍🏾👍🏾
The amount of times I watched this movie by 92 we could have bought it on DVD, in 93,but you know it took another 20 years until I could afford a DVD player
This motivated me SO MUCH as a kid.. I was 12 when this came out... Entered my first contest the next year. I'm 48 now and can still do all these basic tricks to this day on my restored HARO MASTER.
Good memories back in the early 90's I used to ride on dirt in East Los Angeles with awesome riders dude like Polo and Chuck these guys would get major air

1:34 What is that move called??? Seems very dangerous to both the person attempting it and the bike, like. Wouldn't the wheel get bent easily due to the person putting all their weight on the wheel alone? even if the person isn't heavy I sense repeated hopping, humping, jumping on it will eventually cause it to bend. But yeah what's the name of that move?

Kids today will never know the joy of riding to the BMX shop with your buddies
And seeing Dottie and Pee-Wee there.
They will never understand this movie

One of the best movies ever!
The best ...brings back so many memories
As a 16yr old in '86, me, my bros, and my cousins minds were blown watching the opening and closing credits of this movie! My goodness!
I just bought the Blu-Ray Remaster! Can't wait to relive this classic
30 years plus listening to this. Perfect
Seeing these tricks back then was mind blowing 🤯

Best opening credits song ever. And now they are using it on Gronk NFL commercials! Rad Racing!!!
I bet i watched this movie 100 times trying to learn those tricks!! Got some of them down but never could pull off the ol cherrypicker!!
Those days were awesome.... Got me a bmx mongoose after seeing this movie...
Incredible movie!
Love this movie and music 🤩
I own "Rad" on both VHS and on 4K Blu-Ray. I also saw it in theaters a few years ago.
Great movie 🎥🎥🎥
I had my cw in white with purple mags and my bro with a gt pro performer in blue ❤
I got a lavender and green Skyway Street Beat.
That MF bike looked amazing.
It was a heavy mf tho😂
the amount of views and amount of subs is crazy
Incredible!
2nd best movie ever made, behind Beat Street. No.3 Class of 1984
Sounds like a 80's cartoon intro. Awesome.
This intro is so similar to the Top Gun one. Just trade jets and a boat for bikes and ramps! TG came out only a couple of months later.
Like I said when u have sleepovers 3 choices rad monster squad thrashing ❤
Bruh...high five man!!😂
I was 10 and still remember like it was yesterday

True Classic they don't make movies like this anymore cuz of this film I started BMX
thank you for doing this
Kids on their bmx bikes in a circle on any street USA. The 80s, what a great decade to grow up.
Me and my bros watched this movie a million times as kids. And when I say a million I mean a million!
This movie made me buy my first BMX in free Poland in 1990 for my hard earned allowance money....best time ever :)

How man busted their ass watching this and then trying to airwalk??
Was this filmed at Upland skate park in Cali?
Alberta, Canada
The flatland parts in the beginning and end credits were filmed in Redondo Beach, LA, Calif.
yes pipeline in upland
The whole movie should’ve been filmed in the suburban LA area. Shooting it in Canada made no sense except for probably budget reasons.
