This trick is a temporary measure, it helps when the emotions are too strong to control. But we need to feel emotions or else they get repressed and would come out strongly when things really get messy. Feeling emotions regularly helps you regulate or I would say get used to those bursts of emotions....

I have suppressed my emotions so much that I can't sense my own feelings also..like when something bad happens I don't cry instantly, I remember that day and sob almost everyday..I can't decide what I need and what I don't!!

I am 24. Cleared upsc prelims in my 3rd attempt(2024).But after preparing one month for mains it has become a burden for me.Whenever I tried to study for mains it felt suffocating.I was unable to crame data, constitution article, scholars name etc. One day I decided to get out of this and find other direction. There is no pressure on me from my parents' side.
Although now I am not preparing for upsc mains exam but still feel guilty to not study hard. Now I think that I was so weak mentally to overcome my fears.
    So confused.😔

I wasted my whole day today in anxiety and uncontrolled thoughts of my mind, and even I wasn't able to understand what exactly is bothering me
I even questioned myself that when I am not in any kind of relationship then why I am feeling this bad.
Actually I had misunderstood my favourite teacher's words, he had said something, I googled it and get a very different meaning of it other than in what sense he had said that.
And i was feeling dirty that how can I even think that he can say something like this to me as he treats the relations as they are and I can feel the purity and sanity he carries. So that was it and just because this small thing I didn't felt fine whole day only because of my thought I was bothered and had no control on my emotions
Today I came to know that emotionally I am very weak and same day I got recommended this video...seems like my phone is able to hear my sobs.

He can control his emotions outside the house but within the four walls the outcome of any stressful situation is breaking n destroying things in the house. Once the outburst of energy is released he is in remorse n guilt how do we survive all of this.

    Introduction to emotions
Emotions are neurochemicals in the brain
They are inevitable and experienced by everyone
Key neurochemicals include dopamine, serotonin, and adrenaline
    01:46
    Difference between emotions and feelings
Emotions originate in the limbic system
Feelings arise when the prefrontal cortex becomes aware of emotions
Feelings are subjective and influenced by personal factors
    03:06
    Flow from emotion to action
Emotion leads to feeling, then thought, and finally action
Example: Anger leading to thoughts and actions
    Importance of understanding this flow
    03:24
    Levels of emotional regulation
Level 1: Zero regulation, acting purely on emotion
Level 2: Some regulation, but overwhelmed by strong emotions
Level 3: Good regulation, suppressing emotions
    05:00
    Building emotional regulation
    Step 1: Awareness of emotions
    Step 2: Acknowledgment of emotions
    Step 3: Acceptance of emotions
Step 4: Taking appropriate action based on emotions

🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻I am great follower of your channel...and I really love the way you explain it...
As u talked about emotions... in times I notice emotions r brain function are more related or depends upon the menstrual cycle in women..that is in which phase we are in...indirectly we are acting according to that... for example before periods if one thing happens taking it too emotional and crying...and after few days regretting for crying for simple stuffs..so I strongly believe that brain functions are highly connected with our menstrual phases...
    🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
So can you talk about brain functions that are connected to a menstrual phases...and how to convert from sympathetic to para sympathetic

Hello doctor! Informative video! Any thoughts about Vipassana meditation technique and where 'sensations' as spoken about in the technique comes into picture in the flow you described?

    2:30 what does it means?
What makes us that "type of person who gets angry"?😅
You said " you might not feel it"
Is it something to do with lack of ability to feel?
    Or something like self control?
    Elaborate please doc!!
Btw thank you for the info doc❤

@@semicolon6499 In ancient times, yes, it's a survival mechanism. But nowadays people ( I'm not excluded ) fear harmless things, like school exams, or get rejected by someone, etc. It actually sounds pathetic.

It's harder but not impossible, monks and saints have overcome it...
All the fear we have are somehow subconsciously related to death. Accepting death truly, not just at the level of thought but deeply within actually helps..

The steps you told for emotional regulation the first three I'm doing from 5-7 months awareness, acknowledgement, acceptance but I'm not able to make it the last step which is action and that's why I feel I am not able to completely move out of some particular situations, please suggest me some actions that I should perform when I feel sad, upset, feeling low for no reason or not able to find why I'm feeling low.
