Imagine falling to sleep with the headset on then waking up in the morning in BeamNG Drive.
BeamNG east coast & jungle rock Island world audio is so binural 🤗
@@Team_Reaper.fr, i noticed sometimes on east coast it plays plane sounds (also 2 minutes ago?)
@@numl6ck_ yep I noticed too in small island
“I woke up in a new Scintilla”
"why am i in a 1986 Ibishu Covet LXi"
Nothing can beat this, beam Ng is the ultimate car game of any child's dreams. Mix in automation and it gives you the ability to create your own car then race it in vr in beam Ng
They really need to give us functioning interiors in Automation, to me it's the most glaring issue those cars have at the moment.
yeah wish they would put more into driving physics, its nothing like assetto corsa for actual driving in a sim rig, assetto corsa is one of the only games that comes very close to feeling like driving a real car in a sim cockpit
It is great that the BeamNG Dev Team has been providing updates to VR! No doubt it will be incredible when it's finished. 👍
They should put a real-time stabiliser for it.
Yea I got pretty nauseous while playing this in vr, they need an option to stabilize the camera
I felt nothing, Just feels like beamng but with vr, Nothing special
I don't get motion sick at all, so I prefer to have no stabilizer or horizon lock in VR as that might actually disorient me a little bit. But I agree, horizon lock/stabilization would be great for the many people who need it!
@@Fisheee123you probably got sick due to frames. Put everything on low or lowest and if you're using a quest 2, use the oculus debug tool and disable Asynchronous Spacewarp. Makes it very smooth even for my minimum requirements gpu
A VR camera mod has been released that makes the stabilisation issue 10 thousand times better. There is also a UI scale setting available.
Can you send me the link? That would be perfect.
As a Lexus LFA I would say that BeamNG is the world's best game ever
As someone who has seen and heard a Lexus LFA up close in real life i approve of this message
6:00 I created a mod just for this problem. It's called VR Horizon Locking Interior Camera on the BeamNG forums. I had a longer explanation of it but RUclips keeps deleting my comment.
heyyy i just got back to watching you i miss it
Im pretty sure the issue with water is its only rendered in one eye, same as the arrows whem you set a destination on the map
The arrows show only in my left eye but the water is showing in both eyes but move when u tilt your head and they move separately, really weird to look at.
There is a lock to horizon setting that kinda stabilises the camera or whatever, I had that setting on already and when I tested the game in VR I did a brief bit of rock crawling in the grid map and it was totally fine
I created a mod called VR Horizon Locking Interior Camera that further improves the horizon locking feature. It applies horizon locking not only to the roll angle but also to pitch. I would put a link for it here, but RUclips deletes my comment if I do.
Plenty of people are telling Neil of your mod, he might see a comment and check it out
Finally I can experience simulated horrific car crash in first person at home!
I’ve been playing this everyday when VR came out and so admired by how quick the devs attend to the bugs. It just keeps getting better
1 minute ago
i tried vr and every time i did i was getting like 7 fps, except one time (out of like six tries) it was working fine and i was getting 60 fps, then i changed one setting and it went straight back to stuttering 7 fps.
not sure how to fix this and its super irritating because playing like that is genuinely impossible
@@isatntt what’s your GPU?
@@isatntt Thats a low VRAM problem. Lower your HMD resolution. When playing this game in VR, you should always monitor your vram usage, thats what kills your fps if if goes over what you gpu has available.
I need to get a VR headset..... Neil can I borrow yours... without returning?
Since they already simulate suspension maybe they could add that suspension to the camera to even out bumps.
Like a node stabilizer? Like how nodes on cars are solid?
good idea
@@Ilx_Jay I suppose yea, I'm not super knowledgeable with what node stabilizers are in the game. I'm sorta referring to the ability to simulate a weight for the camera and have an adjustable bound and rebound for going over bumps. Maybe it could be tuned depending on speed to help with rock crawling and slower off-road.
They could do that, however, it would be much more practical for them to code in a self contained solution for the stabilization. Writing such code isn’t very complicated anyway. Also it would be kind of a lot work to make it work for each car.
Awesome!
it is werid to see you in VR (I wach a lot of VR content) Nice head movment wile speaking
Edit: Fun waching misakes while lisining
its good but i get like 20fps so i kinda wanna throw up lmao, i dont know if where im using the oculus rift, if that makes a difference.
@Neilogical We dare you to go into a tornado using VR next time!
I don't know in what universe do you live in .
I have tried 0.30 and 0.31 version of BeamNG, and both sucks in VR. I have beefy PC with 4090, Quest 2 with a link cable, OpenXR.
every other VR sim game looks and performs much better than this.
The best way to eliminate pop-in is to try the CK graphics mod
Just think if other game companies spent this much time developing a game before getting to the 1.0 release. Sadly I think most consumers don’t want to wait 10+ years of beta to get to a really polished product. Can’t wait to see what these devs come up with in the future!
It's early access because it's still getting updates.
@@turbo_marcyes, that's what he said
@@turbo_marc that’s what’s so cool about it. They have been taking the time making something like no other. It’s awesome, and that’s why I’ve had it on my steam account for like 5 years now
It's the best way. If you only want perfection then buy the polishes titles. I love what beamng are doing.
That actually looks sick, you think it could work on an oculus headset?
Thats what hes using
well, it could if you have good enough PC parts, however i can't run it even on an:
i9 10900k
RTX 3070 8gb VRAM
32GB Ram
i don't know why but Vulkan API is just mad, cant go in VR even on lowest settings
@@nicotine_twoshot hmm… I’m probably gonna have some trouble running it then
3 Minutes ago? earliest I have been.
boo.
It's cool camodo had issues with his
I've gotta try this soon this looks so cool. I've got a Rift S and a G920, but I'm gonna wait and get a better cockpit first though because the one I have right now is kinda crap (flexes way too much and tilts when you hit the brakes).
i always thought that no driver model in beam made sense but playing ac in vr for a few years and getting used to arms its weird being a floting head.
One thing I’d like to see is some sort of VR hands that’d allow you to interact with the buttons within the car as well as the steering wheel n stuff
I think i did read something in the patch notes about being able to interact in VR with your hands but have no idea of how to show my controllers in-game, maybe i misred it since im not english speaking..
It does say "interactive 3D cockpit switches, door handles etc. (experimental- requires a VR controller)" so there is a way, how i dont know though..
for some reason, even the first time I used VR, no matter how intense of games I played, I never got motion sickness. I just can't get motion sick!
It's a great club to be in:D
Oh I’m glad I never had it either! My wife gets motion sickness easily and won’t even try VR. I feel sorry for people who can’t enjoy it
I'm sure someone might have said this but as far as the UI being/feeling small/far away, You can move it's distance closer to your face in settings. You can also change the curvature of the UI as well.
I challenge anyone to do Mudslide Gladiator in VR and then claim they aren't even slightly motion sick. I've been using VR for years and this one hit me in the guts.
How to download the game
first to comment!
You should use a steering wheel in this pls
After setting it up. I'm blown away. Worth the wait and this is still experimental release. So happy. I just played like 2 hours in game.
What gpu should i put in my new pc for this?
I like you videos a lot:)
First 🥪
@Neilogical NOPE. The bug with the camera being a few meters above the car HAS NOT BEEN FIXED yet.. :D Sadly. I tried VR for the first time yesterday (i was an active 3D gamer tho) and am using the Valve Index of a friend with those base stations 2.0 i believe... But i do have this bug in Beam... yesterday... 27.10.23.... :/
Maybe you can use a neck brace while shooting VR videos? Its a little hard to watch, and then you add Beam's FPV head bob. Stop looking out the left window LOL!
Cool neil:)
loved it !
Bruh you watched the whole video in 2 minutes?
I tried this on a Quest 2 and a PC with an RTX 4090 and it works fine for the most part, but I have a problem when sometimes I will spawn at a fixed point a few meters from my vehicle and I can't do anything about it. I can drive the car remotely but that's it. I have to quit the game and reboot. Has this happened to anyone else ?
the quest does work really good but it is really laggy and idk why, its probably just my headset but it crashes a lot
Neil can you please make a short video or video with friends while using the Devil Sixteen Car!! Please!!!😊
It became my go to car game in VR, i have to put the graphics way down for my 3070ti but it can actually handle racing with atleast 5 others, was great on spa yesterday with everyone setting up at the start with formula cars :D
hey bro, i had the same issue.. after looking into it i foujd that beamng happens to be mostly CPU-based. your GPU renders things like trees and foliage in the game
@@quandaledingle887 Yeah i think i'll overclock my 9900k for now and see if that helps, upgrading is too expensive now since i also need a new mobo then..
Its even better with a steering wheel. My only problem is that i can barely even run on lowest graphics even with a 3060ti
🍞
If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands👏👏
Don't tell me how to live my life. 😂
I badically never get VR sick. Gonna reply to this comment once I get it working.
Neil to fix under the map, just press Ctrl 5 at the same time.
The motion sickess off a vr headset give its disappearing with using them so yeah thats normal off you dont have whats anymore
My valve index works great with vr, not sure whats wrong with yours.
Your driving in the wrong side of the car, it’s definitely worse driving from the passenger seat
2:00 this was actually insane
i usually dont get sick in anything, even this game but space fighting, i tried a few of them and piloting a space fighter is not for me at all
The water is one of the weirdest experiences I have ever seen in my life. My mind cannot comprehend what is going on with the water lol
i'd just need a vr set and a better computer... that ain't happening anytime soon...
It's probably great for the player but for the viewer it's awful :(
This is not the first time Beam ng has had vr.
Check out the ck graphics mod. It will really help with the pop in
I dare you to drive the bolide on the Hiroshi raceway in virtual reality.
great vid - i have a head set - i have the game - why not do a vid on tips to get it running smooth - my last attempt was not great
I've taken two dramamine before the 10 minute mark.
Hi
hi
Are you using your keyboard and wearing the headset?
I’m getting a oculus quest for Christmas
when are we going to get some VR race the flood or carkour?
I get sick racing in VR, and I've had a headset since OSVR HDK2 was available.
Do you think a 4080 can handle this?
And now I am throwing up from vertigo
So what is the objectives in this game other than to have a spectacular crash? I would think that if you are a good driver you will not have crashes. I am thinking about getting a good car simulator, but from all the videos I have watched about BeangNG, it is about crashing. So is this just a vehicle crash game? Can you race against other users in a multi-player mode or even agains computer generated cars?
There is a campaign mode which includes some missions. There are scenarios which are delivery jobs, point to point time trials, police chases (as both the police and the criminal), and a lot more fun missions I guess you could call them. And BeamMP is a non-official multiplayer mod that works very well, it's quite easy to set up, and works quite well. There's a lot more to the game than just crashing and realistic physics. Hope this helps with your decision!
@@ValiA7 Thanks for your detail explanation of the game.
There is a thing for OBS to grab what you see in VR, might be better so we fully see what you see and also would eliminate the borders.
Pretty sure its: "OpenVR input plugin" for OBS. Worked for me but idk if changes fps compared to this.
I use oculus mirror for this, there is also an option to stabilize the image to make it look smooth:D
gonna try this once my quest 3 comes!
I love it now we have vr . am I the only one who hopes they implement sparks physics to the game 1 day tho
Bro has an oculus but still no wheel 💀
thrid?
Dude, that thumbnail going hard.
i dont think that vr is actally that bad
Driving/flying games typically wouldn't induce motion sickness since your brain can understand you're in a car. Motion sickness happens when your brain can't make sense of movements and litterally thinks you're poisoned and the sickness you get is your body trying to purge out what it considers basically a poison, which is why it can last for hours after stopping VR
Yes, but some people even get motion sickeness driving in a real car.
I Dont Get VR Or Motion Sick Too
Yes water hurts brains 🤣
Damn i may have to buy this now
love how neil is so tall he clips through the roof of the scintilla lol
please do a tutorial
Head aches and nausea already 🤮
i suggest you get a racing wheel so it feels more immersive
whats your pc specs?
You can scale the UI
The old CV1 works as advertised. I just can't understand why the camera coordinates never save. The other thing that bugs me is the view angle - it seems to lock to 10 degree increments, so you can never face perfectly straight ahead. Every car feels like driving a Porsche, with your feet swung to the side.
I have to spam ctrl+num5 and turn my head left and right to get it just right, i hope they improve this, and also when i turn hard the camera goes to the side, this is making me lose the feeling of where my car exactly is so i hope those 2 things get fixed soon, still best driving VR game i ever played:D
@@jefmoesy For me it was, and in some ways still is, Live For Speed. They implemented it before any other driving sim - and flawlessly - whereas others such as AC, PCars etc. all had teething issues. They were also the first to implement fully three-dimensional mirrors, something that even high-end sims are yet to look into (I'm sorry. That was unintentional dad-joke syndrome).
Hopefully my pc shows up soon. I'm actually getting frustrated because it's taking forever but I can't wait to play beamng and hopefully this update comes out by then.
VR update it's been out for like a week
@@raulignaciohdz.7189 I don't have beamng yet so that's news to me. I'm still waiting on my pc to show up.
Cute thumbnail
S tier video 🥶
1 hour gang
does anyone else's vr in beam like run at 2 fps
for me yes
You are running out of VRAM. Reduce the texture quality in the graphics settings to low or lowest and reduce the resolution of your headset. I had to set my textures to low and cut my SteamVR resolution in half in order to play at 60 fps.
Oh yeah ❤
Im pretty sure the oculus is better overall than the valve index so you have made a right choice playing with that!
Valve Index is better for higher-end PCs, as the Valve Index itself is more of a professional piece of kit, hence the $1000 price. I use both Oculus and Valve Index and I can say I prefer the Valve Index. But of course everyone will have their own opinions.
the hell? lmao index has 30 percent more fov wayyy better resolution higher bitrate (native) and is overall more comfortable
@@buckythedog exactly which is why i prefer it over oculus
@@ValiA7 you like it better because it's worse?
@@buckythedog i did say i liked the valve index didnt i?
it is super laggy for me no matter how low of graphics I put and i have a good pc
