I completely agree, before I had a VR Headset, BeamNG was my pick 99% of the time, don't care if Forza have better graphics, don't care if Assetto have an incredible modding community, BeamNG realism and feedback on the wheel and driving in general was on point. When I upgraded and bought my VR Headset, BeamNG took second place, Assetto Corsa (FULL MODDED) is the king right now, but.. BeamNG VR? Holy shit, as soon as it becomes stable im going 100% into it again.
I bought a 7800xt to have enough vram to run it instead of waiting a year for it to not need as much vram but it def needs work especially with that popin its awful

Another thing that was not mentioned in this video is that the simulation engine is so God damn good planes have been made and they work as you would expect once beamng is stable for vr I may never play another simulator again lol
While I love using my vr for sim racing it gets boring just racing over and over that's why I love this in vr, I just drove the delorean from back to the future around weaving through traffic and it felt amazing....I could see myself doing that for hours easily, plus I love how this game doesn't need a complicated traffic mod and has it built in, at any point you can even drive around in a cop car and due high speed chases....do I need to say more, so glad they made a vr option in the settings
I second everything you said!! I am running a i7 13700k, 16GB DDR5 and a gtx 1080 @ 2050mhz Core and 11GHZ Mem.(I hold the world record for this configuration in 3d Mark Firestrike... look for a guy named "commuless") and it is definitely the worst running vr game ever. However, if you get it running at at least 45fps stable and realize that the main issue is VRAM usage(gtx 1080 has 8gb and it sucks it up and crashes my computer if I do not monitor VRAM usage closely when booting up and restart if it gets too high)it is insanely good... Once you find what is stable you can continue doing it... I have spent hours running from cops in vr in various vehicles seeing how long I can last, wrapping them around telephone poles, restarting and doing it again... and the driving experience with a logitech g920 with a h-shifter and 3 pedals is second to none. I have driven about 5 different manual transmission vehicles(including a 2nd gen 6 speed Miata for 100K miles) as daily drivers throughout my life. I have played iracing vr, assetto corsa, project cars, dirt rally 2.0, and maybe some others I am forgetting.... This feels like the real deal and makes the others feel like arcade games. I have never enjoyed driving more than in BeamNG VR. They need to expand on this game and destroy everything else out there. It is truly something special.
Ive just started playing and Vr had actually not been bad just my computer can’t run it on the best settings but I think they fixed it it’s been flawless and seemlessly transitions to vr for me
if you're using oculus, disable asyncronous space warp everytime you run oculus services (you can set a scripted shortcut just to have it at one click at your desktop). Also you might want to avoid using steam VR
I’ve started playing vr not too long ago on my meta quest 3. Has anyone else had the issue where you get awful screen tears, presumably when playing at low fps?
Yes, i alos have the same problems, after some time, on my headset it suddenly looks like theres a old TV stripes effect over the screen, and it starts to get blocky, like when you try to record a video in the dark.
lol maybe it's just me. But my game runs smoothly constantly, I use an old rift headset. And running a i7 with a 3090... But when I start playing maps like downtown it gets glitched
well, there is one thing that everyone needs to know, Never use the full resolution of your vr headset in games like per an example BeamNG and VRChat, because they're not a 100% optmized yet, i played BeamNG Drive VR in a Ryzen 5 5600G with no gpu and 16 gb of ram, with the resolution of 856x816, and that was fine for me because thats everything i had, and now my Hard Drive died so i cant play anything, i just wanted to say this because, nothing is impossible, just trust yourself and you will do it, thats it, sorry for my bad english and i hope y'all have a great day.
i want it to work lol. i have a quest 2 and a pretty old pc (core i7 4770k and gtx 970) the games basically unplayable even on the lowest of the low settings in vr so i just play the game on max settings on a single 1080p 60hz monitor because my other 2 monitors are two different aspect ratios and i cant run the game in tripple monitor mode lol
Amazing video! Just one question. Do you know how to fix these stutterings? When i drift on vr in beamng (or mostly when my head in game goes sideways) The camera stutters like crazy! Im pretty sure it isnt from performance as im running a very beefy pc, (i9 1300k Rtx 4090). So i think it may be something else? maybe the game engine? i dont know. Im just looking for an awnser and if i can fix it or not?
beamNG needs to be running around 200 fps in ultra settings in 2k with vulcan api for stable 90 fps for VR, for now with 4080+13900 frame rate is about 80-100, so....
As a 1,000 Hours+ Beamng player, I recomend trying it with the three monitors. If you have Nvidia you are not going to have too many problems. AMD, I do not know, and Intel Arc A770 16GB......... it works but only in window mode, at least I can not get it to work in fullscreen mode.
Very likely yes. I have a 3070, so you'd get even better performance than what I get. Don't expect to max it, but you'd probably be fine with medium settings if not higher.
Hello, i can play the game maxxed out with good fps. btw the laggy is only once in awhile when u start the game there is a chance it will be buggy then just restart
The biggest issue is people using quest with BeamNG. I use a Vive Pro and it looks just right! Which I have a 3090 so I can leave it max as is just fine.
@@TheTechDweller It's air link, thats the problem. Sure, you can use a link cable but it still doesn't do much to help, you're still using air link as the headsets only means of rendering whats coming from the pc. People assume a link cable helps that, it doesn't do much at all, just minor things.
