    The game makes far more sense to me now I can play it in VR. Definity the only way I'll run the game from this point on. Combined with a good wheel, pedal set and an h-shifter its a great VR experience even if its nothing fancy visually. I generally stick to off-road and crawling and that to me remains the strong-point, I don't really go in for the crashing side of the game and I'm sure it would give me a headache in VR. Just done the river crawl last night in VR and it was one of the best experiences I've had in Beamng.

      Definitely fits the game well! Glad it was added. Just wish VR was a bit more accessible and visually better, however with all the other accessories it really helps with the immersion. Though from my perspective it is harder to film everything lol.

      When i first saw beam, like everyone, i focused on the crashing. Now that i play it in vr, i love the crash physics but moreso as a point of realism. I learned how to drive in vr and thanks to beam, I'm learning the real limitation on cars, something asseto corsa or city car driving cant teach. I've never stalled a car more than in this game lol

      @@ATribeCalledCars well if you need some reference from someone who intentionally got a Logitech set to learn driving in vr, lemme know. I started with city car driving to learn basics like road etiquette and parking, jumped to asseto corsa and sucked quite a bit. Was like learning to swim by jumping in the deep end, even turned off all assists lol.
      It's a fascinating video concept, I'm surprised it's not really been done before, not in vr at least, but I know from experience that it works

    Its incredible how much better of a driver I am in vr, although I was only able to try it out in a small area. On my laptop with a gtx 1050m, intel 8300h and 20gb of ram, it was *playable* on the ETK driver experience map, using an iphone 13 and VRidge as a "vr headset" (comparable to the oculus rift DK 1) on the absolute lowest settings. I suspect I have better VR legs than the average person though. It was running around 65fps before hopping into vr and 40fps in vr

    • @ATribeCalledCars
      @ATribeCalledCars  Год назад +8

      40FPS is pretty low so you have strong sea legs to cope, I find I get sick around that point! But I agree, as a driver I really miss the lack of G forces and other car communication to know what a car is doing (or going to do). Being able to look through corners and in mirrors by looking is also essential. If only VR looked better, but that is just my humble opinion.
