Welp, I've been wanting to delve into the world of Alphard for a while now, this has me sold on the beating it has taken. Just incredible fellas . Solid sub!!
I just sold 6 3512R in brand new condition for $1000. Tried to get $350 a sub for a year or so. Nobody interested. So I basically gave them away. 😢watching this makes me want them back.
@@Van1018s wtf in Cincinnati them would have been gone seems like so many people don’t know about deaf bonce all they want is skar and sundown . I sold 3 pairs of skar zvxs in the time it took too sell my 3012rs for same exact price had too eventually drop the dbs too $400 for the pair same price as the zvxs for them too sell
@DrMichaelPetty- What device, or diagnostic tool, did you use to measure that you were giving your 3512R 4k, of power? In this video, the 4512R's coil reached 400° after 5 minutes, @ 40Hz, with 4k to 4.5k watts, so no it would not take 6k all day. Very impressive subwoofer!
@@evilinside5984 I have 4 aak 20,000.1. That was the amp. Same as in this video. Amm-1 to measure watts. And 40 hz will cook a coil way before 20hz. I did not measure the temperature of the coils but I always do when I’m at shows and I have had mine over 400 many times.I have 6 3512R on 2 20k in my build. Wired at .6. Maintains 17 volts. I clamp around 5700 a sub with no problems. My buddy has 4515’s with a 7900@.8 on each coil clamping around 12,000 a sub with no problems. So these handle some serious power.
Very sturdy sub, but why would one want to dissipate the heat on coil and suspension for sake of it with no additional sound? Onything over 1500W is for dbdrag purpose or waste. Unless the displacement volume is scaling with the power, you are better off with 15" for sure, maybe 18".
He gets enough free from them!!yes I am jealous, I busted my fucking ass at work on the 80 90+ degree heat up to 11 hrs a day doing irrigation and lighting for a measly $4000 system ,kid get a 8k system free, must be fuckin nice lol,but I am happy at the same time for him,now he doesn't have to go through what I did to get his system
I think you should put it in a box and do the same test then it will get hotter and will really see how long it lasts but the test is pretty good because we play songs with bass notes so I would say it's definitely worth the money Play perfect power that you get
I throw a b2 rampage 12 Elite in here, that would be intereting to See. Actually Pride Ufo Series and B2 x2six Series are still better but they dont have it in 12 inch tho. But a 6 inch coil with a 1400oz neo Magnet is impressive on a 15inch sub
Running it free air like this actually helps the motor because the box would hold in the heat this way it lets the motor discharge the heat into a whole room not a small inclosure , nice speaker either way
Yes, but it’s constant signal. Non stop 4000 w. And when you listening music the power goes up and down, plus music has pauses where no bass coming out. so it’s a lot easier for the sub.
@@Deeepsound yes but as I stated the box would hold in the heat like an oven that motor was 400+ degrees open air imagine what it would be in a sealed box also that was like you said a static sound at RMS just imagine what would happen to the temperatures at peak watts I like the speaker I wish I could afford it but you have to show accurate descriptions of the product in a real world setup they could build a box that has a port that opens to one side where they could open after the test and remeasure the motor temperatures in a real world situation.
It's not going to get anywhere near 400°F. That's idiotic to think that. The driver will fall apart long before then. It does get pretty warm but nowhere near that temp, lmao.
Why only a 40hz test tone? Should cycle through 15hz-40hz @4500rms like Steve Meade does to show the true durability of the woofer. 4500rms at 20hz is way more abuse than at 40hz 💀
I wish manufacturers would stop building subwoofers to just handle more power, its not benefiting the consumer, its only benefits them. Its not like these subs are getting louder and more efficient, its sctually the opposite, there efficiency is getting lower so more power is needed to get loud, which equates to us having to spend more money on bigger amps, wires, alt's, and batteries. You spend thousands of dollars on subs and amps, 10,000 rms total, and only do 145-150 db. People were doing that back in the 90's with only 1k-1.5k rms systems.
Db has a lot of options, check db-sa 302/305 that one is very efficient for example. 45 series made for people whole loves to throw tons of power and play it all day, and believe me, many bassheads loves that
150-145 db in 90s is like 140-135 db in 2020s why? Because the mesuretment is different, iknow because my dad and i do competition in 90s to now, and the tool mesuretment is different almost 10 db different, thats why u only do 1k-1,5krms and can do 150 db in 90s and they and us to do at 55+hz not low hz tone, now with 1K-1,5Krms in 2020s with a good box (low hz tuning type example 33hz) u only get 135-140db at 33-38hz sorry to my bad English

I did this test at 20hz with a 3512R. 4000 watts @ 20hz for 5 minutes. Sub handled it fine. I bet this thing could take 6000 watts all day. Very nice.

44-60hz is the frequency that cooks coils

It's another thing to make that into a 12" sub...

way better than dc audio free air test😂🤣

what is the advantage with that big coil 4.5. that's crazy how good you'll speakers and subwoofers are
