People really thought the cake would be left like this? They weren't going to show the finished product. Just the process. The cake was beautifully finished and decorated. It was presented on some lovely gold stands and was one of the most beautiful cake presentation I have ever seen. Different and just adorable!!!
a lot of people commenting shit like “oh the cake is ugly its not even smooth!” meghan and harry were obviously going for an elegant and rustic theme for the cake and it’s gorgeous in my opinion
I hope and pray that one day Ms. Ptak will release the full recipe of the cake and Icing to the public so that we could all try this cake one day. Thank you and congradulation on being choose by the Royal couple to make their cake for their special day. God bless Keshia
Yeah i was stressed to death making 5 different cakes for my daughter wedding without cameras )) but i can literally feel this baker pressure and stress .....
I used to make a cake like this, except with Italian meringue frosting instead of Swiss meringue buttercream, but I've also used regular vanilla buttercream. The white cake with lemon curd filling was a standard in the U.S. (except for the elderberry flavoring in the frosting.)
Makenna S i think because they are not just paying for a cake... The time and the amount of ingredients needed to test out what will work will cost a lot of money. If you ever request a baker to design a wedding cake, even for us regular folks, can cost up to a few thousand dollars. It's crazy expensive and I'm sure they have all kinds of rules and regulations on what they can or cannot do when making that cake.
Guys... She only did what they asked her to do! The cake is supposed to look like that. Y'all don't have to like it, but you guys are literally criticizing her for following instructions! It's not her wedding cake or your wedding cake. It was Meghan's and Harry's....
"What?!! This tacky, 'just there' job for over $100,000 dollars?!! I'd do that for way less".. Said the folks who never baked for royalty (and probably never will) 😂😂 Give the lady a break. I'm sure she baked to perfection what was ordered. Okay..I'm just gonna leave now.
Great job, Claire! Very romantic and looks deliciously bright and refreshing. I love the upper lip of buttercream coming up the edges. Perfectly imperfect. Beautiful.
saw someone say 100k? I am a pastry chef 25 years 5 star rated bakery, 100k cause she knew they would pay it, even 600 servings would be around 20k at most
I always remember wedding cakes being made with fruit , so that the top layer would traditional be kept for a christening cake as they got better with age.
I don't get it, if you only want a rustic feel, why you used buttercream? You could use a mascarpone frosting or whipping cream which taste better. The point of using a buttercream is making a perfect and smooth shape...
I read some of the comments and I have a couple of things to say about them since I never saw or tasted the final, 1. If you have never decorated a large cake let alone a wedding cake, it is not that easy. Everyone today is so used to seeing horrible fondant on cakes which is quite easy to smooth that you do not realize that Only buttercream icing is an art! 2. As a nurse you people with where are the gloves, where are the hairnets and face masks, that is a USA hang-up that has come about in the last 30 years, before that it was rare to see such items on anyone and although I think hairnets are a great idea we have made our world so germ afraid that we have reduced our natural immunity so bad that we are sicker in the US than in most other civilized countries. My own daughters pediatrician finally to.d her that she would have to let her boys get dirty or she would be actually killing them. I would like to see a picture of the final product and have the recipes for all the products she used.
Okay maybe not 1000 but 2000 will be more than enough ... I own a cake business, baking the cake is quite cheap actually. The value of the cake doesn't come from the ingredients, it comes from the time of the decorating and the details .... This cake is basic AF it's not even polish nicely
I was taken back when I read the price of that wedding cake for sponge, curd, buttercream and fresh flowers. It was very informally arranged not even stacked. I’m still stunned.
no Claire, fondant would have been smooth. they just slapped some buttercream on it. either smooth it or do something with it. because the way they left it looks awful. it looks like the decorator got lazy. it doesn't look "rustic" at all
Looks like absolute shit for a 100,000$ cake for a royal wedding. Uneven frosting full of bubble spots... They could've gotten a better one for a 100th of the price. Overcharging cause they're rich. Do you think she charges that much for anyone else? Nope. Their tax money hard at work there 😑
karen carterfranck 😂😂 are you serious? You don’t realize it was done on purpose? It’s supposed to give a rustic, homemade look. Quite similar to the look of the recently popular naked cakes that look like they were just given a crumb coat. Every detail on this cake was carefully planned and drawn out.
J.R. M neither. Cakes take lots of time and patience. Wedding cakes are prepared days in advance before the wedding. Ideally, the cake should be all done and ready and good to go the night before. That would also depend on the type of design. Like this Royal Wedding Cake for example, I’m sure the flowers were added right before the event as they are real and fresh.
Ech Two Ess'O Four not true. cake can be frozen for a year and if done properly will taste as good as the day it was baked. it takes like a week sometime for a cake to be decorated and finished. this cake probably only took a few hours
Ranisha Robinson "Could've" is a contraction that means "could have", referring to what one could have done in the past. "Could of" is nonsensical, you'd never see those words in that order in English. "Of" is used to refer to one thing which belongs to another thing : "He has lots of ribbons", "That's the House of the Rising Sun", etc.
She had to Crum coated before adding any final Buttercream, it was a awful design especially for the royal ocassion with so many options and trends it looks like a beginners cake
very very simple design indeed )) but that was Megan wanted/ She had simple dress. And who is now days want that 5 tire diamond encrusted state of art cakes? Only Saudi Arabia weddings ! )))))
Disagree - she did not wont to impress anyone with the cake. They concentrated on church surprise, speeches and Megan was creating very nice memorable presents for her friends. Who now days cares about cakes / It was still there ,looked fresh and edible )))

Vinnie Blair I agree! It was a beautiful cake. Just wish I could've tasted it.
a lot of people commenting shit like “oh the cake is ugly its not even smooth!” meghan and harry were obviously going for an elegant and rustic theme for the cake and it’s gorgeous in my opinion
I absolutely loved the finished product design. So elegant and simple
I hope and pray that one day Ms. Ptak will release the full recipe of the cake and Icing to the public so that we could all try this cake one day. Thank you and congradulation on being choose by the Royal couple to make their cake for their special day. God bless Keshia
And then the buttercream was a simple Swiss or Italian meringue buttercream....the recipes for those are pretty standard.
Oh and add elderflower liqueur to the lemon drizzle syrup ;)
Thanks for your useless input.
Its ok if you can't understand simple directions.
She finally has
What!? No cake strips? Preppy Kitchen gonna be very upset! 😂😂😂
OMG I love that
anjkrazy2 Lmaoo 😭 preppy kitchen 😂
Yay! I was hoping Claire Ptak would release footage of her making the wedding cake!!! Thanks Claire!
Austen McKenna
Thank you for sharing your great baking selection fir the Royal Couple's Wedding. Very nice!!!😊
I can't imagine the stress she was under with all the cameras "on top of her"!
Yeah i was stressed to death making 5 different cakes for my daughter wedding without cameras )) but i can literally feel this baker pressure and stress .....
Brenda Madriz: Seriously!
I saw the final photo of the cake. It was so pretty actually☺ so simple yet so pretty... I would like have such cake for my wedding day☺
Aahhhh, that buttercream fell straight from heaven!
I love to prepare these types of different cake my fav 😍😘😘😍😍😍
I used to make a cake like this, except with Italian meringue frosting instead of Swiss meringue buttercream, but I've also used regular vanilla buttercream. The white cake with lemon curd filling was a standard in the U.S. (except for the elderberry flavoring in the frosting.)
this video is soooo relaxing
Why did the cake cost $100,000? This isn't a diss, I am just genuinely curious if there's something particular that made it cost so much?
Makenna S i think because they are not just paying for a cake... The time and the amount of ingredients needed to test out what will work will cost a lot of money. If you ever request a baker to design a wedding cake, even for us regular folks, can cost up to a few thousand dollars. It's crazy expensive and I'm sure they have all kinds of rules and regulations on what they can or cannot do when making that cake.
They also had to make enough cake for over 600 guests. I would also guess that they had more than the three cakes that were presented on the thrones
That looks SO good! The Amalfi lemons are delicious! Curious as to how Elderflower tastes....
Guys... She only did what they asked her to do! The cake is supposed to look like that. Y'all don't have to like it, but you guys are literally criticizing her for following instructions! It's not her wedding cake or your wedding cake. It was Meghan's and Harry's....
Why haven't we heard anything about the cutting of the cake and how they guests liked it?
dixie montgomery do they actually serve the cake? Lol usually they’re just for display.
i was thinking the same. but i don think that is because cake was a flop )))
dixie montgomery Oprah ate half
Ptak actually means bird in polish. Fascinating, I know.
Wiktor D I enjoyed it

it was not 100 000 dollars dont believe gossips from the media
Great job, Claire! Very romantic and looks deliciously bright and refreshing. I love the upper lip of buttercream coming up the edges. Perfectly imperfect. Beautiful.
No wonder she’s so good! She’s Polish after all ❤️❤️
Was a beautiful cake.
How soon do you bake the cake, frost it, and how and when do you deliver it? Thanks!
saw someone say 100k? I am a pastry chef 25 years 5 star rated bakery, 100k cause she knew they would pay it, even 600 servings would be around 20k at most
I love lemon I can imagine how the ice taste..... I know personally make my own homemade cream cheese red velvet cake and it is delicious 😋
I always remember wedding cakes being made with fruit , so that the top layer would traditional be kept for a christening cake as they got better with age.
yes but times changed/ Me personally dislike fruit cakes
анни елниф it wasn't a critique. I was sharing a memory. Your preferences had nothing to do with the statement I made.
Ii know sorry you shared a memory )) and i shared my personal dislikes for fruit cakes thats all )) have a great day )))
Was the sponge lemon cake? Recipe?
Why do'n't you use the wet pan wraps to get the cakes flat.
Which crram u r using.pls answer me.
Delicious...😋😋
Simple cake😉 how is look at the end?
Where do you buy those deep cake pans ?
I don't get it, if you only want a rustic feel, why you used buttercream? You could use a mascarpone frosting or whipping cream which taste better. The point of using a buttercream is making a perfect and smooth shape...
Stability
The crust looks quite dark, I would’ve trimmed the caramelisation
yeah i don know why she was not trimming it.....may be she thought it would hold better with the crusts.....
then again she drenched it in elder flower cordeal so it was very moist even with crusts???
I love the caramelized crusts. YUM!
Sounds yummmi

What was with that funky frosting job? Who thinks that looks pretty?
Claire Jennings no, not in this case. I guess they wanted a fresh rustic feel. Like homemade vibes.
no Claire, fondant would have been smooth. they just slapped some buttercream on it. either smooth it or do something with it. because the way they left it looks awful. it looks like the decorator got lazy. it doesn't look "rustic" at all

Sooooo are wedding cakes in general made the day before or the day of the wedding?? 🤔🤔

Amy Alvarez thank you. I've always wondered about that

As confeiteiras brasileiras teriam dado show nesses bolos muito melhor
The Cake boss should have made the cake
right
Cake Boss should take some tips, you don’t use fondant... that shit is nasty tasting. Real cake is creamy.
Что за крем с снаружи обмазанный
Мама Мама говорит масляный крем, внутри лимонный курд
My little sister could of decorated a cake to look like that
Ranisha Robinson *could've > "could have"
Leah Laushway what’s the difference
Ranisha Robinson "Could've" is a contraction that means "could have", referring to what one could have done in the past. Fake cake hai koi cake ke upar kaise khada ho sakta hai
