The check off lists and all the analysis are exhausting. I was working on me after my divorce and a guy messaged me. We met, we talked, we got along and he asked me out again… and again… and again. We kept it light and fun, no expectations, no specific goals, no pressure, just enjoying each other’s company. I held off on sex because I needed time after the divorce and he respected that. We weren’t always on the same page, but we communicated and worked through things. We’ve been together 8 years now.
He lost his child who died and he lost his relationship with his wife and he’s giving advise. He is coming from a place of good life experience we can learn from. ❤

Very helpful. I hope all the women are learning that 3 or 4 months is a good enough trial period of a relationship - not 3 or 4 years or more. Don't waste your life away with a "spender" who's not going to commit any time soon or ever.

Mine took 3 years for us to realize we wanted forever partnership. We were both older, pretty set in our ways, not catching a train to start a family, so hanging out for years getting closer slowly was was nice. Everyone is different.

Jonathan, the story about 3rd grade is all too familiar. My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Hale dragged me to the principle office and screamed I was “retarded!” I had difficulties with math and numbers. Later that same year I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and Hyperactivity. Today, it’s ADHD, of course. Anxiety is always there for me too.
Because I had phenomenal parents, I took that as a challenge and completed an undergraduate degree, a MBA, and most recently an MS in clinical mental health counseling. Don’t apologize for your grammatical mistakes, or for anything! Your emotional intelligence is off the charts and that truly is what shows through in your videos and content! Thank you for being here for us and sharing your life. Good luck on the journey and soon you’ll be refreshed and recharged!

Sometimes as I look at them or their behavior I just have to look at them and mentally say that they don't count, they don't know me. That has taken me a long time to do over my lifetime. It's not easy. I'm sorry that those nasty people have done that to you, and so deliberately. Hug your inner Jonathan and keep hugging him. I still have to do that with mine. And hug him with reassurance, strong reassurance. That inner child needs that. Squeeze! You are a good, fine, sensitive, smart, and loving man..... don't let anyone steal that away from you. Jonathon, I think we all should be "all in." That's giving someone and yourself a real chance. I also give "all in" with boundaries and I pay attention to how the other person shows up. Your relationship with Mari resolved and that ok, give "all in" to another woman. You should be proud of yourself, that's very brave. Most people give very little because they are afraid and expect something to go wrong. When we go "all in," it means we expect things to work out for the best and having the desirable outcome. Love is, taking a risk; giving all is taking a risk, but that's a game for those who want it all.

I do understand your situation. My daughter passed last October and the 18th she would have been 43. She was so full of life and I am taking care of her youngest daughter. I want to place my needs on the backbones. My life partner passed this August and his birthday is on the 28th.

Not at all. The longer I'm single the more I miss having a life partner. It's the one thing I've always wanted out of life, every since I can remember, and accepting that it's most likely I'll never find such a partner (having come close in the past) makes me more sad than I can possibly express.
@@susanparkes5096 Here’s the thing that we have to stop doing. We have to stop thinking that there’s somebody out there that’s going to make life beautiful for us. Every time I get with someone, yes there are benefits such as sex, but it is difficult in so many ways and l have to make so many compromises to make it work. Most men are gross to live with anyway. They aren’t like women. So you have to get used to that. Much better to just have a boyfriend! And besides that, my friend said to me a couple weeks ago, good luck finding somebody who even wants to get married.

A few years ago, Your wonderful vulnerability helped me to try radical honesty and I wrote some honest letters to this same guy and it has been a slow change, but he seems to be moving toward me.

It is why i am fussy about both people being on the same wavelength, same future goals, interests, etc. the part I don’t understand is why in my experience is the men are not looking at that at all. They get upset when I say no this is not going anywhere and we are not on the same page. I wonder what the heck did they really want or what were they after? I just keep swimming forward. I am trying not to get frustrated with the process. I am ok with being single. The issue I have is when a guy thinks he wants to be with me with nothing in common and get upset when I am like nope. I can like someone does not means we are compatible.

I see widowers and ALL are paired up within 2 yrs!! The trick is to stand back for 1.5 yrs, as youll be used as a Spender type relationship too soon. But after 1.5 years, most widowers are ready to meet their forever woman.
