At 17:45 you asked why people call it a drift car. Well i checked your link to Ali Express and they call it a drift car. Keep up the rc hobby. Kind regards Henk Ketelaars (The Netherlands).
Very neat little project! I would have been like you and flipped open and closed those headlights for a while!!! I was even amused with the little wwhuppp..wwhuuupp noise it makes when it does it!
Great buyers guide , so good I became a buyer.the suspension and pop up by servo lights had me sold.both features splendedly covered by cracking it open and having a look 😊 unlike the " I got it free and read the box aloud" type reveiws r/c cars get on other channels.good work 👍
Honestly this was going to be a buyers guide where I make a few mods but then i got in so deep that I needed to make a part 2 and part 3! This thing came out incredible.
@@AMPROEngineering I can see why the need for more episodes.once the chassis was explored the directions for potential fly in all directions and all of them good directions.look forward to seeing your ideas🙂 ( pssst ... also ...I bought this thru your link real quick as I have noticed that often retailers start to hike prices once an item is popular and I am sure this will be as popular as the suzuki carry/bedford rascal type wpls
@@AMPROEngineering my first drivable car was a used 1981 Tercel 4-door, 4 speed with AM radio and one speaker...I used to carry a spare starter and tools in the trunk. I loved that car...I would buy another in a heartbeat. **sigh** 😉
WHAT?! That 86’ Trueno/Corolla is your favorite car and you don’t have a full size car . You need a 86’ Corolla gts hatch in your life. I had one back in 93’ I dropped it added some 14’s bbs, exhaust, Intakes that car wasn’t fast, but it was very fun. I sold it back in 95’ and got brand new 95’ Nissan 240sx. Man, if I only knew how popular my Corolla hatch and my 240sx would be I wish I kept it. Actually I regret selling my Corolla hatch. Loved my 240sx and traded it in 00’ for a 94’ rx7. Now, I’m driving a 21’ Toyota 4Runner and yes, I still have my FD. I see you love RC’s, gotta get into the real cars. I was into RC’s, but the real cars are more fun and rewarding and yes breaks the bank. Great review on the 86 though!
Well it is one of my favorite cars, haha! As it is the Ampro 1:1 fleet is sadly maxed out. It is insane how popular these have become and for good reason!
The tendency to turn the wheels (transmitter wheel) back and forth as fast as humanly possible--makes it pretty hard to detect if anything is proportional. You're not the only one that does it though ;)
after i buy two cheap used Tamiya buggys, that thing is the next on my list. Thank you so much for showing that cool thing!😋 Aliexpress don't send these cars to Germany, but i found it somewhere else
Wonder if you could space it out by just having like a plastic o-ring behind the wheel of like 0.3 - 0.5mm width too get it a bit closer too the outside of the body & just not tightening the screw all the way in so it still rolls smoothly. Gear ratio wise I'd say it's a bit slow, like up 2 - 3 teeth & it's probably close too perfect for the scale as it's not really a hobby grade track car like a robitronic scalpel or hpi micro rs4 etc...
Love the sound the headlights make when they open and close! I never got into the Initial D comics or cartoons but the live action movie I think from Hong Kong is really good. So surprised how adjustable the suspension is as far as the front and rear toe and camber. One of the pics in the link you sent has the wheels cambered in. Very interesting! Nice review!
Yeah it has a lot more adjustment than you would imagine. I never got into that movie, they made Takumi's dad a drunk idiot for no reason. I cant imagine why they would think that was a good idea when he was an integral part of the comic/cartoon. At least the cars looked good.
@@AMPROEngineering yeah, really cool little car. Looks smaller than 1/18 scale. Maybe you have big hands? yeah, I haven’t seen the movie in a long time but I do remember he was the sleepy head dad that was like some sort of race car guru at one point or something like that? I forget. Maybe it’s to sort of like show him redeem himself later? I dunno, hahah!
I'm guessing you can set the rear toe because the parts are made to be universal. I would be willing to bet the company makes or plans to make a front wheel drive version of this chassis that reuses all the suspension and driveline parts with the battery box and servo mount shifted around. Edit: You don't like the style and feel of the radio, then make a new one. It's not like its shape is super important, design and print up a new clamshell.
Hey Ampro, my name is Austin and I own a jjrc q60 6x6. I was wondering if you could do a full breakdown video of your Q60 of all its upgrades. I want to get an idea of what kind of upgrades I should be looking into. If you see this and consider it a video I would appreciate it so much
They don't really need to upgrade the AE86 with independent rear suspension I think, or perhaps they gonna use the chassis to fit the upcoming cars like RX-7?
So this model does not come with them. The later Version 2 does. This is indeed also able to drift but not like the newer version. Ill have a video on that soon.
A lot of Asian men appear to have "girly hands". Long slender fingers and long nails too, oddly. This car was designed by and for them--that is my theory.
Can't wait to see it properly painted, no one did that on youtube rn
If you check out the AmproEngineering Instagram, you can see it done...its amazing.
there is a peek at 18:40
I love how they did period correct wheels on it
Me too!
Love the peep when the headlights pop up!
LOL same
This review reminds me of your WPL D12 review , constantly being pleasantly surprised 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 can’t wait for the build video
Seriously...I did not have much faith in this when I got it...I really thought it was going to be crap but if you saw it done...omg....amazing.
OH BOY!!!
I had a ton of fun on this build....
The rear toe is adjustable because it uses the same parts as the front.
They are making a FWD version.
with the blacked out glass and white body it reminds me of the old Corgi diecast 007 lotus submarine car
I just saw "paul restorer" rebuild one of those.
At 17:45 you asked why people call it a drift car. Well i checked your link to Ali Express and they call it a drift car. Keep up the rc hobby. Kind regards Henk Ketelaars (The Netherlands).
Weird....given that it wont drift and does not allude to it on the box.
The Banggood description/pics state "Drift Car". But I have also seen On-road cars called "crawler".
The tires will not let it drift at all. I think people see the AE86 and assume "drift"
This car has a lot of potential. I need one
Wait until you see it finished...I cannot believe how it turned out.
This will be a really cool project! Can't wait for the next video on it already! :D
I have the car done and cannot believe it...stay tuned!
Very neat little project! I would have been like you and flipped open and closed those headlights for a while!!! I was even amused with the little wwhuppp..wwhuuupp noise it makes when it does it!
Haha! Totally. I loved this and now that I have completed the project, I am just beside myself.

That radio looks like a very bad clone of kyosho's kt-18... Thanks for the video!
The radio is the only thing i dont like. Works great but so cheap.
Wow that thing is quite impressive! Especially for the price. Looks like I'm purchasing one of these 😅🤙🏽

You know I actually made new wheels for mine and was planning on just that! I happen to run mine a lot and love that thing.
They don't really need to upgrade the AE86 with independent rear suspension I think, or perhaps they gonna use the chassis to fit the upcoming cars like RX-7?
This is likely a generic platform they are going to use on many cars as well as FWD versions.
@@AMPROEngineering Well then I'd hope they keep providing the JDM stuff from Initial D...
It would've handled nicer if the rear suspension was an axle, that's true to scale rather than independent suspension
Yeah i agree but I think they are intending to use this for FWD and RWD applications.
just got paid think im gonna buy it
It is a winner with some detail work
If Tamiya fixed their steering what would be left for the rest of us to feel accomplished for fixing? Gearboxes and suspension aren't enough!
LOL! good point. Think of the aftermarket!
I’d be cool to see it do the chime when at full throttle. “Ding” “ding” “ding”
HAHA! For sure!
The steering arm on the servo strange angle
It is odd. After I saw this the company updated the whole mechanism.
what about the drift wheels? it is intended for drift right?

It is at the 7:05 mark where he falls in love. :)
The truth man.
Build and mod video please!!!!

@@AMPROEngineering the other two videos are set to private. Are these for patrion contributors only. Thanks.

Menarik, tapi kualitas plastiknya terlihat ringkih.
Basis sasisnya sedikit fleksibel dan bisa menggunakan dudukan lain tetapi suspensi dan bodinya kokoh.
🥰🤩💥💯👍💪👏
Thank you!
It says drift car when u buy it it is a drift car what other ppl vids car drifts clean and stock
Yeah they do call it a drift car but the later ones are better since they have an optional gyro.
Don't spill the cup of water. 👨🔧 💦
I might, i'm no Takumi!

Given price, it is likely that adults are not the target. That radio also has to be some generic one they got from a CM.
