I added Liqui Moly Ceratec to my 5th Gen Honda City ZX CVT during my third oil change at 20000 kms that has currently run 26000 kms and I can vouch that it works wonders. It reduced the vibration and noise of the engine and has improved the mileage by at least 1.5 - 2kms per litre in a congested city like Mumbai. It says to add Ceratec every 50000kms but I'm so impressed with the result that I'm going to add it at every engine oil change which I do between 6 - 8000 kms. But I'm surprised that being a technical person you stretched your first engine oil to 10000 kms and not earlier as a brand new engine will invariably have some metal particles circulating in the oil!! I did my first engine oil change at 6000 kms as I didn't want to take a chance!!
Which engine oil did you opt for ? What's the major difference between mineral and Fully synthetic oil ?
@@shiveshpro77 My car is under warranty so it goes to Honda Workshop for engine oil change and they use Idemitsu Synthetic Engine Oil 5W-30. Fully synthetic oils are supposed to have better engine protection properties at higher temperature with longer oil change intervals.
Bhai Sahab, kachra engine oils hain bilkul 0W 16, 0W20. Inke khub zyada nuksan hain. Ye itne thin hain ki sirf snow areas mei use hone chahiye. Magar Rajasthan jaise area jaha summer mei 50°C tak temperature hota hai, ye log yahi dalte hain. I always use 5W 40 engine oil. Best viscosity for both summers and winters. 👍

@@kunal186 I agree Bro, but wo cover ho jayega agar apne area ke temperature range se just ek grade niche ka oil use kiya jaye to. For example, Rajasthan ke 50°C mei, use hona chahiye 10W 50, to aap use kar lo 10W 40 ya 5W 40. Normal areas mei jaha use temp. 30°C to 40°C hota hai, waha use hona chahiye 10W 40, 5W 40 to aap use kar lo 10W 30, 5W 30 or 0W 30. But except snowy areas, 0W 20 and 0W 16 oils are worst. Muje lagta hai ye oils European countries ki dekh ke copy kiye gye hain. 🤔🤔

I follow the oil grade suggest by company for bs6 engine. I tried little higher grade oils, i felt vibration increased and mileage decreased. And i always use full synthetic engine oil.

Even with semisynthetic engine oils it is a better idea to change arround 5-6000 kms .
10,000 kms on semisynthetic engine oil is a bit of stretch for the oil .
If it was a fully synthetic oil than near to 10,000 km oil change interval makes sense .
It will cost just under ₹2500 for either mineral or semi synthetic 3.5 liter engine oil bottle with a original oil filter change at around 5-6000kms .
Better to take preventive measures than paying hefty sum on engine repairs because of company recommended 10,000kms oil change intervals with semisynthetic oils 😅

I have been using 0w20 Castrol instead of 0w16 in my BS6 WagonR and I am fully satisfied with it and haven't seen any consumption of oil also. I don't know why would they be using 5w30 instead of 0w16.
Many service center still use 5W-30 on BS6 NA engines though recommended is either 0W-16 or 0W-20 depending on Suzuki or Hyundai. Turbo engines have different grade recommend if I'm not mistaken. Reason for using 5W-30 is availability or stock. 0W-16/20 are costly and not readily available.

Technical gyan, I too have same kind of question. Maruti service center has asked to replace by steering rack due to noise. Is it ok to get it serviced from outside. Maruti persons are denying for service and replacing any steering rack parts. What should I do, the complete item is costly due to motor inclusion with steering rack.

I think 5w30 puts a lot of strain on the oil pressure and oil pump for new BS6 phase 2 engines, if 0w16 is not available then maybe you can use 0w20 maximum, above this it will put unnecessary strain on the oil pump and lines and will cause extra wear and tear of the engine in the long run.

Don't add 300 ml full bottle, I've added around 200 ml and on Gixxer sf I've added around 80-90 ml
On both the vehicles in feeling smoothness. Gixxer is smooth in low rpm which was not there. Overall smoothness increased on Punch

I have brezza 2020 and in previous oil change I had used Castrol magnetic 0w20 and it worked very well till 9500 km then changed the oil to Mobil super suv pro 5w30 but it take a longer time to come into action engine feel a little harsh till temp rises
After driving 3 4 kms engine sounds smooth.
I think 0w20 is best for new gen petrol engines
That 5w30 causes more engine damage changed it back to the stock oil, this technical gyan guy got cheated with 5w30!!!!!!!
@@rko951 not sure about engine damage but new gen engine runs on high compression ratio,made with complex engineering hence they require high oil flow and thinner oil flows well. That’s why 0w16 or 20 are used now a days.
Service centre are using 5w30 because they are readily available and are cheaper than 0w20. Specially in Suzuki 0w20 oil comes with bottle itself from ecstar so there is very less margin on other hand 5w30 oil comes in barrel so have slight higher margin
check your manual. Recommended is OW16 for petrol 1.5
@@rko951lol that's not true at all. You wanna know what does most damage to the engine? Driving away moment after starting the car. Thicker oils protect better especially in hot climates. Ow-20 oils give better fuel mileage, and will wear out faster in hot climate.

@@gssr41 Honda genuine oil 2.0(for diesel only), they never share oil grade details, i checked service centre oil barrels but same thing was written there 'Honda idemitsu 2.0'. its not on ownersmanual too, but they mentioned aftermarket oil grade details in owners manual which is 5w30..... And in india only 5w30 oil grade available from idemitsu for both petrol and diesel engines, toyota also use idemitsu 5w30. but still I can't say which oil grade they put inside my car...It feels 5w30 on skin... On internet some people says it's 0w16 and some say it's 5w30... Whichever grade they use it works phenomenal with my car I'm constantly getting 27-28kmph on highways with 90kmph and if I lock my padel at 70kmph the fuel efficiency goes above 35kmpl....Pickup is awesome, there is no oil cosumption.

Bhai these service guys have fooled you by using 5w30 oil. You should have insisted on 0w16 like i always do. They get to earn more margin on thicker oils. This will also reduce your mileage or just negate the mileage effects of ceratec.
