A few run by videos of the newly repowered open car.

- In 2021 I rebuilt the running gear and electrical control system of this little trolley we call the "open car". I do not know when this car was originally built, but I do know that it was built as a 15" gauge car for someone else's railway. At some point this car was acquired by the RRVT and was re-gauged to 24". It used to be powered by a repulsion induction motor from the early 1900's. This motor failed in 2015 and the car is now powered by a 36VDC golf cart motor, like the rest of the equipment on the line. I also added brakes (because stopping is important too!) and the 2nd axle is now driven as well. The original design only had 1 axle driven. As you can see, this car still needs a lot of cosmetic work, but at least it is now movable on its own power again which will give me a good reason to work on cosmetic restoration at some point. It rides pretty rough being only a 2 axle car, but that just makes it more fun. Enjoy :)

Nice !!! Been patiently awaiting a new video. This setup you have is awesome !!!
Thank you! 👍
Hot damn, that thing can move!
Really missed your uploads! It's wonderful to see this car out in the open and running. What a neat little car, I look forwards to seeing how things go with the cosmetic refurbishment!
Pretty Awesome stuff.
Nice write up in the description;
Thanks for that.
☑️
So very nice to get a new film. Thanks a bunch.
Who needs to stop??!? ;) Very cool!
Subbed. Like the channel. Nice work!
Welcome aboard, thank you!
@@CNW4145 very awesome set up. I am hoping to build a 3.5" gauge live steam on my one acre, perhaps I'll start this year. It's the smallest gauge you can ride on, haha.
I think that’s the coolest damn little railroad !
So fun! It's hardly bigger than a picnic basket, but it is incredibly awesome! The description, above, really helps! Thanks!
I was right! Thats trolley your re working IS cool!
It runs very nicely now!
@CNW4145 far out! Ypu certainly enjoy working on it, i can tell, if i was where you are, lol I'd be going for a ride frequently after work relaxing and enjoable!
Funny story, when I first started working on this the original owner told me he rarely ever just goes for a ride and I thought, man if I could come out here all the time I'd just take a ride. Now that its just me working on it, I rarely just go for rides- there is always too much work to be done and making improvements is the part I enjoy more than riding lol. But I do make it a point to make 1 trip around the line every time, at least at the end of the day so I can see how things are running.
👍👍🌹👍👍Nice
