Shackleford8 except if the chain broke or you ran out of fuel etc. Don't forget, you are in the middle of nowhere; and by the looks of the weather you could get stuck up there!
Thank you for bringing us this excellent video presentation, I am surprised that this route hasn't been used for tourist trains, but when one considers the risks of rockfalls maybe that is why it was closed in the first place.
@@mr1shaggy I'd like to present you with a "Talking Out Your Butt" award. One of the trestles on that line wasn't even _built_ until 1932. Passenger service on the line ended in 1951. Use was suspended multiple times for repairs. The line was used up until 1976, then for a short stretch in the 80's, and again for four years in the 00's. The award has a plaque on it that reads, "It's possible to be more wrong than Your Name, but it wouldn't be easy."
You are legendary. When I walked it, all that came to mind was Wilie E. chasing that Roadrunner. With the most recent lessor gone astray, will anyone ever try to save it.
Curse it be the ground for our sake, both thorns and thistles,it shall bring forth for us,for out of the ground we were taken. For dust we are, and dust we shall return.
Отлично прохватили! Состояние дороги практически идеальное.. А есть ли карты заброшенных и малодеятельных железных дорог в Вашем штате? Как закон относится к таким поездкам? Спасибо
@@JK360noscope Thank you for your reply! totally agree with you on this. he doesn’t know the law, and it’s good that he doesn’t know) this is how it should be in a normal country.
This is interesting, because those trestles look new, and so someone has the resources and justification to maintain the line. Then they got stopped by a rock slide.
Cool as hell and the sand traction trick was awsome. People in tunnell...RUUUUNNN ITS A TRAIN!! I THOUGHT THE TRACKS WERE CLOSED?!! 5 minutes later a cart comes cruising through at 20 mph.
My father in law used to live along an abandoned rail line in WV so I built a rail cart out of wood with a Honda motor and go kart clutch and gears. I would take the kids on rides up and down the line as far as the line was clear of kudzu and downed trees. Then turn it around and ride back.
SOME HISTORY: in 1964 the entire fright train derailed at one of the deepest, steepest sections. It was loaded with refrigerated semi truck trailers from the Coors beer company in Colorado. You can still see them down there the Coors logo is still visible. Some empty dented Coors beer cans are still down there. The steepest rail trestle bridge in the world is there, it think it still holds the record. I found square nails and rail spikes when I was there in the late 80's with date stamps on them. 1
I'm surprised no company thought of making those rides into a tourist attraction. When I lived in San Diego, I went a few times to a nudist place in the desert near the Carrizo Gorge train line. I hiked with some friends with no clothes on along that train track 🙂Silly old days.
This is the coolest thing I've seen in a while. Thanks for putting it up.
When he gets closer to the tunnel around 3:23 the scenery is unbelievable.

yes some good stuff bloody shame the rocks stopped them
No inglés.. sorry
The addition of a chain guard would be a good idea if you are going to have your arm and jacket that close!
Yep..👍
И трубку, чтоб сыпать песок через неё

It will be easier to install a simple gravity fed sand dispenser for up hill traction assistance.
This looks like such a good way to spend the day.

its nice to see u ride on abandoned railroads and im impressed on how decent the rails are after so many years

Those tracks haven't been used by actual trains in over 100 years

@@IstasPumaNevada Me sorprendía que llevaran 100 años abandonadas, porque la traza se ve en buen estado.
@@mr1shaggy those tracks are way too good looking to not have been maintained for 100 years
It's awesome to see the US side running now. A few months ago another railrider was on the Mexico side.
Oh wow, this is amazing. I didn't know the tracks are operable. Thanks for sharing! What an amazing adventure
Мечта любого любителя железных дорог! Супер!
А какие виды!
Прямо инопланетные!
Одни камни ...
Très original comme draisine pour une bonne balade! En plus sur une de chemin de fer abandonnée! Salutations de France. 🇨🇵😉👍
I started to make a list of things that could go wrong, but I quit at item 12 and enjoyed the rest of the video.
Awesome a brilliant big kids day out 😅. Thanks for the share of this 👌👏👍
Archiemoreno you have some serious balls doing what you do! Enjoy the times! 👍🏼
Move them rocks, I want more! Cool video!

I bet Dave's RV would love to ride with you. He is in the area right now. What a thrill to see you out there. One can dream.
A lot of dynamite and labor to build back in the day.
That was a thrilling ride ! Thank You.
Nice railcart, cool railway! Sone of the metal walkways flanking the trestles towards the end look recent-ish..!
Wow this is so cool!! I can just imagine the excitement and experience. Enjoy guys!! Maarten Buma Pretoria South Africa

Опасно, кто нить выскочит из тоннеля и укусит..

Muy lindo. Espectacular esos paisajes de la naturaleza. Que bueno que los puedan disfrutar así. Saludos de Argentina.
What a beautiful run, how flippin cool!!!😏👍🇺🇸
All you need now are a set of KLA5's "Nathan Air Chimes" to seal the deal...lol
That's actually so cool, I'd love to go on a trail like that
Fantástico muito bom vídeo 👏👏👏🇧🇷
The scenery alone makes this ride so perfect❤❤❤

Love it wish I was there with a ice cold 6 pack.❤❤❤
Excellent ride!!! Thank you 🙂
Very nice. I can visualize overnight camping with the carts.
That's exactly my first thought. If you had enough people to pick it up off the Trax so someone could pass?
and the horn 🎶is fabulous
Loads of fun great way to get away from busy city make all the noise you won't no one cares
great video

Thank you for reminding me I need to do that!
✌️ Thankyou for this cool clip
Thanks for sharing and I really enjoy your work! (Take me with you!!!)
Those rocks on the rail, could be split and moved easily. How much more rail would useable from that point?
This looks like a lot of fun to do
Such a cool way to travel love this
Amazing... would love to do something like this... perfect get away
I'm so jealous! I want a rail cart.
This would be beyond awesome
Yes big thanks ❤💪💪👌
It must have been really cool to ride a train through the gorge back in the day.
too bad the car industry lobbied to get rid of them!
Cool as hell and the sand traction trick was awsome. People in tunnell...RUUUUNNN ITS A TRAIN!! I THOUGHT THE TRACKS WERE CLOSED?!! 5 minutes later a cart comes cruising through at 20 mph.
It would be easy to rig up some sprinkler pipe and a funnel to make applying sand easier. Just a notion for consideration.
What an adventure! I live in Macedonia, (Balkan) we too have many abandoned railroads, maybe i can build something like this and travel.

I have to admit, I was waiting for your jacket sleeve to get ripped off in the clutch and chain!!!!!!

Cool landscape, cool race👌🤗✌️
beautiful view you should clear the tracks little by little the wonderful board....saludos desde México bonito video😦😦😦
How did you get past the first tunnel that is blocked off and how long ago was this actually videotaped? Thanks
Just the day prior to this, a guy brought a battery operated chopsaw and cut the locks.
