Had one of the most traumatic 24 hrs of my life. The kind where you get home and stare blindly while waves of pure anguish rolls through your soul. Finally roused myself enough to turn on RUclips and look for one of your videos. A few minutes of calmness, normalcy, and much needed respite. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Matt voicing how he's feeling is definitely a sign to start listening to his body. It's break time for sure. I can't believe how fast things are growing there. A memory come back from my childhood when Matt said he was tired, I was out on the farm with G-ma and I told her I was tired, she said your sleepy , I'm tired. That was so true, she was in her 70s , still milking cows, gardening, and raised chicken and sold eggs to the store in town. Nice visit Tipper. God Bless. 💚&🙏🙏er's For Granny and all. Jean
Very nice tomatoes. My mom used to cut stripes of old cloth that she was going to throw away and use the strips to tie the tomato vines to your trellis to hold the vine so they would crawl upward. Works great for any crawling vine plants and helps reduce the cost of gardening. Love the cattle panels y’all use! Very nice garden, you put lots of care and love into it! I love homegrown tomatoes with bacon and eggs for breakfast. Just sliced and salted. My favorite summer dinner was my mothers pan fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, and gravy , fresh corn on the cob, sliced homegrown tomatoes, and garden picked green beans with new potatoes and or bacon! A big glass of iced tea and a slice of lemon. (No sugar) 😊😊😊😊😊 God bless all here!
Up here in Minnesota, after milking cows with my grandma, we would sit down and have a feast of tomato sandwiches, or a radish sandwich! It was heaven.
That man is exhausted, it’s written all over his face, he desperately needs rest before he ends up sick or in the hospital. I know he’s the working patriarch of the family, even admits he’s never been so tired. Take him inside, get a shower and get in his recliner and rest. Love his heart. In the winter, look for Campari tomatoes in the produce department. They are sold as vine clusters....They are extremely good and will satisfy your tomato hankering in the winter. They are roughly golf ball sized and would be great sliced and added to breakfast plates.
I’m glad to hear you guys are going to rest up, a bit! Bent over in a crawl space is not easy on the body. Matt, you are so handy at this stuff. I would have to hire someone for this stuff. The only store bought tomatoes that I think are close to home grown are Campari. I get them from Costco. They are smaller like a Roma, but they actually have a lot of flavor. 🍅

Matt when i retired a few years back everyone said oh you have it made man. after seeing you and how tired you were i would like to say i share your pain i have consistently worked harder doing what i like than i had ever worked at my job. and i love it. work hard and stay strong
Poor Matt is wore to a frazzle. He is a good daddy and husband. My grandparents called snapping turtles terrapins. I will never forget riding in the old red Ford truck and Grandma Myrtle saying “Pull over John! There is a terrapin big enough to eat!” My sister and I were traumatized, but they grew up poor and ate lots of wild creatures. We were always suspicious of what granny was cooking up🤔. Both of my grandmas were excellent cooks. I will say this extra 10 pounds is from Grandma Myrtle and this 10 from Grandma Beat. 10 is from you Tipper because you got me on the popsicle diet🤣🤣🤣. Coconut is heavenly.
Loved your video about tour flowers yesterday! I feel the same about my garden, and it helps keep me sane - there's something wonderful about your hands in the dirt. When I see my little son run around outside in his diaper I think, "he's getting a little taste of what Adam and Eve had in Eden." Prayers for you and your family. In the past week my husband has repaired wreck damage on two vehicles, did an engine repair on a van, tended our garden, stopped and helped his parents twice, and worked his full time physical job as a service technician for our county. He’s dog tired every night and I can certainly see why. Thank God for our hard working husbands, daddy’s, paw paw’s, uncles and all the men who lead our families and take care of us ❤
Unfortunately I don’t have a place for garden and would not be able to work it so I just keep my local gardeners supported. I have a hard time around here finding Cherokee purple so the small farm I buy from are growing them this year for me how sweet. Y’all do a wonderful job. When I was a kid we always had a garden and the first meal every year was mamas green beans, fried squash, taters boiled and corn bread, and sliced tomatoes and cucumber and green onions and corn bread man that was good.

My brother is7 yrs older than me and he would also take a jar of tomatoes and pour off the juice for spaghetti sauce and make sandwiches with the tomatoes. Glad he's not the only person who does that.

"Let's go get a Coke!" was the phrase most often said amongst friends when I was in high school, Sonic was THE place to hang out! Pizza hut as well, I remember you talking about that in another video. I remember going to Pizza Hut with friends, getting those little personal pan pizzas in the piping hot skillet, playing video games and putting money in the jukebox!
A few years back when we had our garden, my husband would take a salt shaker in his pocket. He LOVES those homegrown tomatoes fresh off the vine. Radishes came in a close second!

Mulch, Mulch, Mulch! My father taught me to put leaves on that garden in the fall and grass clipping on the garden in the summer. We were the only ones in our neighborhood who caught our grass! It all went onto the garden or a compost pile. Keeps the ground moist in the hot summer months and makes weeding easy. Worms love it and that does not hurt the garden!
My mammy used to say when she saw a little baby holding up it’s head. We’ll he looks like a little terapin holden up his head. She had so many sayings. Love from Missouri

Love tomato sandwich made by taking a tomato from the garden that is warm from the sun, and putting in on white-loaf bread with golobs of mayonnaise and salt. Yum yum!
I can’t wait for our tomatoes to start coming in. It’s true that there is nothing like that first tomato sandwich. We like them for breakfast. My husband likes them with his gravy when I make it. When I retired people ask me what I was going to do with all my time. I’ve not been bored for the last 5 years. 😂 Always can find something that needs done. The good thing about it is you can sit down and rest when you want to.
I'm with Matt, love home grown tomatoes, don't like bought ones. I have sliced tomatoes on buttered toast for breakfast with salt, fresh ground black peppercorns and a pinch of sugar, just a pinch ! ❤

Thank y'all for sharing your garden. It is so beautiful! I grew up with my Daddy and my Pop Pop gardening. There's nothing like it. I really want to have a garden, but that bug has not bitten my husband. Maybe next year. :) Thank you Matt for all of your hard work. I pray y'all have an abundant harvest.
Mulch, Mulch, Mulch! My father taught me to put leaves on that garden in the fall and grass clipping on the garden in the summer. We were the only ones in our neighborhood who caught our grass! It all went onto the garden or a compost pile. Keeps the ground moist in the hot summer months and makes weeding easy. Worms love it and that does not hurt the garden!

Love tomato sandwich made by taking a tomato from the garden that is warm from the sun, and putting in on white-loaf bread with golobs of mayonnaise and salt. Yum yum!

I can’t wait for our tomatoes to start coming in. It’s true that there is nothing like that first tomato sandwich. We like them for breakfast. My husband likes them with his gravy when I make it. When I retired people ask me what I was going to do with all my time. I’ve not been bored for the last 5 years. 😂 Always can find something that needs done. The good thing about it is you can sit down and rest when you want to.

The turtle like the creek bed, my Tommy toes are so full of babies all green.. coke is all we do also in N E Texas,, I planted a Cherokee purple,, I had a great recipe for a tomato pie, I will use the Cherokee purple for them…
