Maybe you can permanently park Pap’s old tiller somewhere that everyone in the holler can see it. A little flower bed around it and it could be a nice remembrance.

Such a wonderful late Spring video… new grand babies, new garden season with a new tiller & tractor! We too are enjoying setting out everything we germinated from seed. Tipper, this year we’re trying out Rattlesnake beans. My husband Walter thought I was nuts askin him to put up a cattle panel to grow them on… I bet after this season he will be converted!

I know you miss your father so much. It’s very loving for you to keep planting Granny’s garden. I’m hoping she gets to sit and look at her garden frequently and watch her things growing and I know she’ll enjoy making green beans. Thanks to you, we’re working on our second year of gardening. I used to only grow flowers but now we’ve got several varieties of tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, butter beans, peppers, and herbs. Plus, of course, flowers. I love a beautiful summer porch that’s filled with color. I’ll continue to pray for all.

My husband and I watched this on our TV, and the story of granny in the garden hit home for us. I am in my late 60's and my husband is 77. We had to replant our corn day before yesterday, and I got caught up on the rows we had filled, and stumbled, and fell into the dirt. I started laughing so hard, I could hardly get up. He helped me up with the rake and we were almost hysterical. The dirt was soft, so no injuries, but what fun. Yes, our kids worry about us as well. 😅😅

My husband and I for the past 6 years have been caregivers of his Mom. He's an only child. We ended up moving in with her. Well, back in March she fell and broke her ankle, severely. She ended up having to have rehab in a nursing facility. She got sepsis from surgery and sadly she didnt make it. Passed away 4th of May. She had a beautiful dwarf rose bush that bloomed pretty much all year round in a big planter. After she fell, the rose started to wilt and looking like it wouldnt make it. After she died, it started to grow back !! Today would have been her 92nd birthday. We were blessed to have her so long. After losing both my parents and his Dad too, she was the last to go. Life is so amazing. Even things like your Daddys tiller making its last round ❤ and our "Granny" (yes, we called her that too because ,too, our children and grandchildren calling her that.) That rose came back beautiful as ever. What a beautiful God wink from heaven ❤ and yes, Angels are all around us ❤ reminding us they are still with us. God Bless you and your beautiiful sweet family Tipper & Matt.

You can plant sweet potatoes in a cardboard box and then take the shoots out , put them in a jar of water for about a week, to get roots, then put them in a plastic bin on a sunny porch or yard. Easy to grow them and they keep well. Plus they are delicious!

Friday I got some hard news. I'm on bedrest due to possible hemorrhaging and later that day, my grandmother passed. She was my foundation for sure. My favorite thing to do was send her flowers. She loved to plant in her garden and because we traveled so much I'd bring back all kinds of seeds and pottery. How ya'll look after granny just made me smile. I'm sure she knows how loved she is, but working in her yard is just an extra type or kindness and love. Pap's tiller definitely left ya'll a message. If that ain't something to hold onto.

Matt with the cat in the background is just precious. It is obvious the cat really likes Matt. We had a specially bred very large Siamese Cat we brought back from San Diego when I was honorably discharged from the US Navy that was just like that. It also had a soft and gentle characteristic with the Family, but pity the person who invaded our realm without a good introduction..

My Daddy used to talked about how his Momma made hominy with lye. He always said there was nothing quite as good as that. I never got the opportunity to eat any that she made. I was too young and she died before I was old enough to eat and enjoy it. But I do love hominy, either kind: yellow or white. I am excited to see your corn mature and produce for you. Good fresh corn on the cob is so good. My uncle used to grow the silver queen seeds and we would always get several bushels from him to put in the freezer. He is no longer with us so I don’t get the opportunity to have any of “Uncle John’s” corn. Thinking about it makes my mouth water. I sure miss those days! I certainly enjoy watching you two talk about your gardens and all that your Pap and Granny grew. I agree with you and with Granny, there is just something so rewarding about growing your own food! Such a joy and pleasure especially when you get to harvest the fruits of our labor and eat it! ❤😊

That is the sweetest thing to think about pap’s tiller being revived for one more planting. I think he had a hand in that. Maybe you can save the handles to display on a wall somewhere. It would be neat to etch May 2024 Last Corn Garden into the handle. Maybe Katie could do that with some of her tools. My Lantana is on its 15th year of reappearing. The butterflies love it so much. I know granny will be thrilled with her new garden & flowers.

The words of life springing up from the fruit of ones passed through the veil ring so true to us. Life can be a beautiful memory of others we love and how we still share their love of the earth. Nothing like sitting under a shade tree just resting and talking of times long ago or just yesterday. I do love your videos of family, planting, sharing and most of all God who gives us all things because of his love for us, his children. When I was growing up, mom would put a stock pot of water on the stove to heat, then she'd send us kids to the garden to pick and shuck a couple dozen ears of sweet corn. The water was usually boiling when we got the corn to the house. It couldn't get any fresher (unless we ate it raw from the stalk). Love fresh from the garden vegetables, especially fresh tomato for sandwiches! We've added cattle panels to our garden this year, as an arch between 2 raised beds, for peas, cucumbers & cantaloupes to climb. Trying to get more productivity from the same size garden by going vertical. Let the growing begin! 🌽🍅🫑🧅🥔🥕🍓🫐🍎

It's not too bad, but all her huge trees in her yard and around her pond came down. Funny thing was is one tree was torn up, but the cross that her late husband made was laid just gently by the tree. I tried to get Outshine to sponsor your channel but they replied back & said they don't sponsor you tube channels. I'm eating Outshine popsicles because of your great reviews of them. Granny will be so pleased to know that her garden is planted & ready for the seeds to grow. Hugs!

Hi Tipper, tell Matt he looks A LOT younger without his beard and mustache. In fact I'm considering taking my mustache off that I've had for 37 years. ( I'm 67 ) Again thank you for all the prayers and tell Corie thanks as well. God bless.

Matt & Tipper, Sitting here relaxing after a busy Sunday. I was happy seeing Matt get the front tine tiller to make his busy days easier. While i enjoyed your crabapple tree side chat I feel plum tuckered just listening to all the things you want to do. lol I canned until I had a brain stem stroke a little over three years ago & I appreciate how much you love gardening so i'm thankful you still have your good health. Tipper, wondering if you've ever made pickled corn? I love eating it right out of the jar & it makes my mouth water thinking about it. I laughed at the birthday candles malady joke & that might be part of my hubby's maladies too. You're still young enough & full of energy.. enjoy the glory while you can. Love Y'all & God Bless.

Thats a nice looking tiller. Its about the same size of the one weve had around here for years. Even I can work ours, and I'm 60 something. So wonderful that you all are such close knit family .

So wonderful of y´all to get Grannyś garden going. Inconvenient to have to shell out for a new tiller...it will hopefully last several seasons & be easier to use than Pap´s old one. The symbolism of Pap looking from heaven, saying, ¨Your new corn field will be my old tiller´s last job, time to retire it.¨ That´s good for Corie to be getting some new HVAC. Well, it´s been a busy spring & now summer´s looking busy, plus, a second precious grandson will be here soon. Aww, so sweet how Binks goes to Matt. 😊

I had to write down that meal idea of the cornbread, corn on the cob, etc. because that is what I used to have when I was growing up and I'd forgotten just how good that was - so Thank You and Matt for that 😁

This year I did an experiment.. I planted my potatoes in a large kiddie pool, it had a split in it and I try to reuse things.. and they are doing great , I just keep heaping soil and chicken manure on them as they grow. Can’t wait to see the outcome.😊

I know Granny is happy to have her garden planted. It is fitting as you said that Pap's old tiller made it to the end of the garden one last time. Hopes and prayers for a plentiful harvest.
