@@sundrop3911 That's one thing I haven't tried, although I've pondered it. On the other hand, the bedroom I sleep in almost literally abuts the garden, and I also wonder how neighbors would react (although in one case it would be only fair, given the number of times raucous parties have kept me awake.
I can't speak for others, but it's hard to realize the actual amount of work it takes to grow all you do. These videos are just a snapshot of many hours of labor it takes to work the land that's unseen to us. You do a great job.
We lay down soaker hose, 3 sheets newspaper, 4" pinestraw, 4 foot tall chicken wire around beds. Check for bugs every 3 days, turn on water 2 hours, once a week, if no rain, pick when ripe.
I was visiting my brother years ago and his wife wanted some jalapeno peppers out of their garden for supper. We sent my 10 year old grandson to pick a few. He come in and had pulled up the whole plant ! 😂
Thanks Folks, great to listen in, as always. Congrats to be grandys for the second time, especially nice to see Corie and Austin's post, and your loving tribute to Miss Cindy. Cooler here, now winter, but mild to some parts of the world, we had 2 C (35 F) and a stiff breeze. Thankfully the work car, iced up, had good demisters. God Bless Y'all over there.
Love how you took the time to remember Miss Cindy! Vegas is 109 degrees and it’s 6pm here! Yeesh! One more year until my husband John retires and we’re out of here!! We want 4 seasons like you folks have!☺️
Love that you’re always thinking about family, the ones near you, the ones who have gone “home” and the little man not yet born, your ❤is so big! Very excited for Matt, so cool he got his truck back🌻. 🌻🌽🌽🌽🌽🌻
I've thought about Miss Cindy a lot lately. I knew it was coming up to the one year anniversary of her passing. I love when you talk about Miss Cindy and what a good person she was. The corn looks so good and I'm tickled for you guys because I know how much you have wanted to be able to grow it. I've been waiting for an announcement that baby Graddick has arrived. I'm keeping all of you in prayer every day. Would you please pray for my 93 year old Daddy? He's in the hospital because he has a buildup of fluid in his body. Thanks so much! ❤
Tipper, you'll have to get yourself a deep tackle box when those little chaps get to toddling. You can fill the bottom with ice packs and the top full of little chap snacks! It's a SNACKLE BOX🤪
My father used to say " it's hotter than a two dollar pistol. " it sure is that here in Central Texas right now!! My late husband bought his same vehicle twice. Now my son just bought his ElCamino for the second time. Your garden looks beautiful. I am putting up pickles tomorrow. My cucumbers are going crazy! God bless you all.
I would sit by your creek instead of hoeing. The sound of the water and the cool shade would just bless my soul. It’s hard work working in that garden so you and Matt ought to have your popsicles down there.
I love watching your channel so much. It honestly feels like I'm sitting right across from y'all. You have such a beautiful holler and are blessed to live so close to your kids and grandbabies! Here in my neck of the Appalachians, it's been "hotter than the devil's toenails." Lol
We have a 2017 Chevy work truck for the same reason as Matt. My husband loves the manual roll down windows and manual locks. Less problems can arise. Enjoy ❤
That's so funny and ironic Matt bought the same truck twice! 😁 And from his dad! And that it has manual windows and locks!!😮 Very cool. I'd love to see someone wind down the old window cranks on a vid sometime! 😊 Have a blessed week, guys! ❤ Looking forward to hearing baby news soon! 🙏🏼
Cayenne pepper. That repels deer and a lot of different kinds of critters. You can sprinkle it over your plants or use it in a spray. It's worked as far as I know for a lot of people and for us! One tablespoon of Cayenne pepper, one tablespoon of garlic powder, one tablespoon of dish detergent, one tablespoon vegetable oil and a gallon of water...to make the spray. It won't harm the animals, but it has a very strong smell to them that they don't like.
You two are so blessed to have two (or more) youngin's to teach what you know. It's so sad that people have lost the art of gardening. I'm glad that we don't have to rely on the garden to feed us but can if we choose. My husband's mother is a wealth of knowledge. She makes the best pickled beets you've ever eaten! She makes a couple extra jars because she knows I love them so much. So special to have a loving family as you can attest!
I cannot blame Matt for wanting something plain in a vehicle. Those fancy buttons bells and whistles can break at any point. We have a 1980 GMC Sierra Grande One Ton with a 350 in it. Manual transmission. Engine has a carburetor. We inherited it from my husbands father.
It’s been so hot here in Eastern Ky. Yesterday we had a thunderstorm that took down one of our trees in our front yard. On a good note , it has cooled down a little from the rain yesterday. These temperatures are very hot for June. Someone that works with friends of ours, got bit by a copperhead in a raised bed she was working on. I guess he was laying in a cool spot and didn’t want to be bothered. Thanks for your videos.
Y'all's garden is coming along. Mines finally taking off too. I was listening to y'all talk about not having many rattlesnakes there and that's wonderful and I'm not saying this to scare you just to make you aware that a farmer I was talking to the other day was telling me that rattlesnake beans are called that because the rattlesnakes love them. Now IDK if there's truth to it or not but I know that's a lot of y'all's bean crop this year just just beware and if it is true, please let us know ok. Thanks and God Bless y'all. God Bless our Nation.
Miss Cindy, what a blessing! I never had a mother-in-law like that but sure wished I did. And I was “the person “ for my family. Ppl like that are beyond measure in our lives. ❤
Tipper, just returned home from a 4-day trip to your area visiting family. Had the blessed opportunity to spend some time at Lake Nottley, Brasstown, and Blairsville. Did a little walk through part of the John C. Campbell Folk School...most buildings were closed as it was Sunday but it was so beautiful. Had nice meals at The Crown in Brasstown and The Hole in the Wall in Blairsville. Having lived in most urban areas, it was both nice to enjoy the winding roads and landscape of Northern Georgia and Southwest North Carolina. Having followed your youtube page for several years, it was nice to be able to see what the area is like so I could better envision what life must be like for you, Matt, and the girls. Y'all are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful area!
The Etc. consignment shoppe on Patton Ave is the one I go to, they also have one in Weaverville. I love going to 2nd hand shops. Y'all's gardens look wonderful praying for a wonderful bounty for you all this year God bless y'all.
I love it when Matt says "Gosh Yeah" I catch myself saying it now. Glad he got his truck back!! I love yall's hats too. I always look forward to your videos 😊 Of course I'm waiting ( like everyone else on here ) for a baby announcement from Corie!! ❤
I found that planting Citronella in and around the plants keeps the deer off - even I don't like the overwhelming smell. It would be fun to set up a trail camera with sound to watch the corn grow - I can remember hearing the field across our lane at night squeak from the corn growing.
My husband would agree with you Matt. When he bought a truck, he wanted key start, no power anything. He did settle for the power windows lol. 2006 ford. He is not a ford guy but it’s slim pickings out there.
Tipper used to put up 90 pints of pickled Beets with 2 Quarts of plain beets for later on in the winter time !!! We would go through all 90 pints of pickled beets in that winter time !!! Had a Pantry that would make my Great Grandma SHINE with HAPPENIESS !!! Remember canning in mayo quart jars whole tomatoes tomato Juice then sauce also it was something !!! Had peaches canned meat green beans yellow beans then mixed yellow with green for a treat !!! Would live like a Queen & King with the children !!! Had pickles also 7 different types of pickles then I learnt how to do watermelon rind with pickles !!! WOW I did a lot !!! When moving to Northern Illinois I had over 1,000 quart jars to move down south !!! Was canning as I moved !!! Canned Field Corn also !!! Always a lot of corn MY PANTRY Was COLORFUL IT WAS BEAUTIFUL !!!
Keep Living the Good Life. I Always Live watching U Guys. That Corn looks Wonderful. Good Job Matt for buying ur Truck back. What a Blessing. U so remind me of my Father, Nothing he could Not Fix, and Loved working on his Oldsmobiles. Nice Tipper got a chance to visit Mrs. Cindy Grace. All of U r so Blessed and full of Love. Rock On, and Keep Pushing!
My husband and I planted our first garden this year. We have learned so much from watching you and Matt work in your garden! I have discovered Ultrasonic Animal Repellers. It lights up and sends off a chirping sound that deer and rabbit hate. You charge them before the first use and then they are solar charged after that. It has kept the deer away from our garden and baby dogwoods!
Nice visit with you guys. A YEAR for the passing of Miss Cindy? UNBELIEVABLE. I remember and she sounds like a really wonderful person also. Thanks for sharing your memories of her. NICE.
You have been so blessed Tipper . I am hoping that you will share more of the gospel like you used to. Like your daughter does Occasionally. You've been given a wonderful platform to do so. It's so important for such a time as this.
Thank you!! Check out our other channel here for tons of music: ruclips.net/channel/UC-qASEdDmIEW_q02Og1nStw and you can hear Paul play Jesus Loves Me in this recent video: ruclips.net/video/jnUyjKq_xlo/видео.html
We saw tracks near our garden deer tracks. We bought VHS tapes from Goodwill stretch the tape with stakes in the ground all the way around the garden about thigh high and we’ve had no deer in the garden. Slightest breeze moves the tape
I agree with Matt about old trucks and an actual key. They are the best. I used to help my dad work on our vehicles. My dad went on to be with the Lord 23 years ago today, June 24, 2001. My mom went to meet him November 30, 2023. I sure do miss them both. ❤️
Your garden looks just great. You both work so hard to keep it looking so good. It's not an old saying in my family, but it's been hot up here too in Massachusetts also. My ex-husband used to joke "think of it as free heat". 🙂So we joke that way ourselves to keep it a bit more bearable.
You've got a big garden but our smaller garden has been well protected by fishing line. Buy the cheap stuff. Put up as few t posts as you can get away with and string the fishing line around the garden. We did two strands. They can't see it and seem frightened to run into it. No deer damage two years now. Thank the Lord.
A premier one electric net fence with solar charger would keep deer out. We have them for animals but they have ones for gardens as well. I wish we would of gotten one for our garden cuz the green wire rabbit fence we got that you can step over the rabbits squeeze right through them. I love the electric net though cuz you can take then down to store for winter and easily move them where needed. Add to em or just use a small area
I always look forward to your videos, especially with you and Matt on Sunday evenings. I love to see what you two have accomplished. Was the truck Matt got, from Papaw Tony or someone else called Papaw? Thats awsome to get it back after all those years. Your corn patch is really coming along.
Matt, before you make Tipper mad, hide the title to your truck, she has more than the local radio station to put it up for sale on, now she can put it on the World Wide Web! 😁😂 I still go back every once in a while to watch that video and share it with my friends and family when they come by, 1) for the story, that was great and makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch it and 2) Tippers laugh!! Tipper has the best laugh of anyone, anywhere!! Prayers for Granny, Corie and the Baby, for all you guys endeavor to do! Be blessed in Jesus Name.
Tipper I'm glad you have your corn patch. Maybe you could tie Maggie down there at night to scare the deer away. You mentioned miss Cindy being gone for a year. I have always thought miss Cindy was absolutely beautiful. And her son is very handsome too. You are pretty just like your mom. So you and matt had the right combination to have a beautiful set of twins. Seriously.
Yes a year has flown by! I was praying for yall this time last year- have been watching for 3 years now! It’s crazy how you feel like family ❤ social media does have a positive effect on our lives in some ways- thankful for y’all
Listening about miss Cindy made me a little Sad and also Happy. Hearing about people in our lives who we love so much -who have gone on. Praise the Lord for memories of precious people in our lives.Thank you Heavenly Father for all our Blessings on this earth and the new Heaven and New Earth that you are preparing for us- So we can be with all our loved one who are born again.❤
It's always hard when the anniversary of someone's passing comes around, especially the first one. I continue to pray for all of you, as I know that many changes have happened this past year. It's great to hear that Matt was able to purchase his previous truck back! Thanks for taking us along to the large garden! It's really coming along! 🌽🌽
A groundhog ate all of the tops of my beans. He left everything else alone. Caught him one night when I went out to sit on my back porch. I let my dog out more often now and haven't had a problem. (knock on wood) Thanks for the video and good luck.
"She's probably barking at a bug." That gave me a good laugh. It really sounds like lovely Olive though. LOL My Grandma used to always say, "it's hot as a bake oven out there." My Grandpa had a lot of hot weather sayings, but not suitable for polite company. LOL Your hard work in the gardens is really coming to fruition and I'm so happy for you. God bless.
Glad Matt got his truck back! The Gardens look great! I heard dog hair works good too if you know a groomer or someone who brushes their dog. Wish you well! ❤🎉

Garden is looking good. Try leaving a radio playing all night outside to deter the wildlife.
Irish spring soap is supposed to keep deer away. The green bar cut in pieces and scattered around.

On the other hand, the bedroom I sleep in almost literally abuts the garden, and I also wonder how neighbors would react (although in one case it would be only fair, given the number of times raucous parties have kept me awake.
Matt’s got a real point about “manual everything”, ‘cause there’s SO much less to go wrong. That certainly is funny about buying back his old truck.

My husband and I loved our mothers in law. I love hearing you speak of Miss Cindy and Granny so fondly. Such a wonderful blessing.
"God willing and the creek don't rise" is my favorite saying. ❤😊
My Dad would always say that ❤️
I love the swapping of the trucks. Family is wonderful.
It really is!
I was visiting my brother years ago and his wife wanted some jalapeno peppers out of their garden for supper. We sent my 10 year old grandson to pick a few. He come in and had pulled up the whole plant ! 😂

Well done!

That little 4 banger Toyota engine will outlast all of us. Happy to hear you got it back.
Good morning Tipper and Matt, love your videos it’s like spending time with good friends ❤
Glad you enjoy it!
I agree with Matt!! Love plain cars and trucks!!!! I hate push to start and buttons
Absolutely agree with Matt! I'm still driving an older vehicle because it's low tech. I'll keep it as long as I can. God bless you all!🙏🏻❤️
Love how you took the time to remember Miss Cindy! Vegas is 109 degrees and it’s 6pm here! Yeesh! One more year until my husband John retires and we’re out of here!! We want 4 seasons like you folks have!☺️

So nice of you! Thank you 😊
I havent thought of Batchelor buttons in years❤❤❤

😊
Love your videos. Matt, I’m sure happy you were able to buy back your old truck. Something very simple with no frills.
The first year after a loss is the hardest. You are always in my prayers 🙏🏼❤️
You all feel like family to me.
Sunflower is my favorite flower.
❤❤😂The garden looks great. You will be harvesting Soon.
Corn looks great.
Blessings to you all - we are still praying for the Pressley, Wilson & Graddick families : D
thank you 😊
I am not much of a gardener but I love living vicariously through you two!
Matt I agree with you...I have a 1995 Surburban...everything is Manuel and I love it! Keep it simple.
I would sit by your creek instead of hoeing. The sound of the water and the cool shade would just bless my soul. It’s hard work working in that garden so you and Matt ought to have your popsicles down there.
Thank you 😊
I love watching your channel so much. It honestly feels like I'm sitting right across from y'all. You have such a beautiful holler and are blessed to live so close to your kids and grandbabies! Here in my neck of the Appalachians, it's been "hotter than the devil's toenails." Lol

Yes, melons need plenty hot sun! I've had luck with putting melons on a plank board to ripen well in the sun.
That was a great video. Corn and whole garden experience is looking lovely.
If you want berries next year, only cut dead canes and prune the green ones, berries are on the green ones.
Reminds me of Grandma’s gardens.❤ 🎉
Wow! The corn is growing fast. 😊
You two are so blessed to have two (or more) youngin's to teach what you know. It's so sad that people have lost the art of gardening. That orange flower is a hummingbird vine
Tipper, God will protect your garden and always make sure you have the food you need for your family. ❤
thank you 😊
My dad is a widower and he has a lady that cans his beans for him! They do it on half’s , it works very well for them!
I always enjoy your talks with Matt
I cannot blame Matt for wanting something plain in a vehicle. Those fancy buttons bells and whistles can break at any point. We have a 1980 GMC Sierra Grande One Ton with a 350 in it. Manual transmission. Engine has a carburetor. We inherited it from my husbands father.
I'm glad you have that!
Give me a carby engine any day over these new computer controlled nightmares. I need a car I can work on in my own driveway 🙂
Old is the way to go if you can tinker with them. New stuff is made to be taken to the dealership. Too expensive.
That's a nice truck!! I would rather take that over any new car
Great video. Thank you all for your generosity ❤❤❤❤❤
I have a friend who plants veggies in her woods. It keeps the deer in the woods eating the beans and other vegetables in the woods.
Glad you are liking the Rouge tools, we have loved ours for years.
Y'all's garden is coming along. Mines finally taking off too. The corn is really coming along! As well as the rest of the garden. I'm sure Matt is happy to have his truck back.
I just love ya'll. Great folks, great life.. thank you for sharing it with me. You bring joy to my lonely heart.
I enjoy your popsicle talks so much!
I'm so glad! Thank you 😊
Miss Cindy, what a blessing! I never had a mother-in-law like that but sure wished I did. And I was “the person “ for my family. Ppl like that are beyond measure in our lives. ❤
So true!
My grandma and mom always said Hot as blue blazes
That's a good one!
My Mama said same. Thanks for reminding me😊
I remember hearing that from my grandparents ❤
Love every minute of todays visit.
Wish I had your energy.
Tipper, just returned home from a 4-day trip to your area visiting family. Had the blessed opportunity to spend some time at Lake Nottley, Brasstown, and Blairsville. The Dump Store, that's a great concept 👌
Wow I can’t believe the corn is that high already.

Too funny! Thank you 😊
It was a 100 here one day. I have multiple sclerosis so I have to work my garden early morning and late evening
Perfect timing, Olive started barking right when Matt was talking about a dog baying a raccoon 😃 Amazing how fast that corn is growing! 🌽🌽🌽
Seriously.
Great video!
We are pushing a 100 here in Michigan with no let up in sight.
Wow!! That's hot for Michigan this time of the year.
93 right now at sunset in the Bronx, 90 throughout the night, 95 by mid morning. Enjoying iced tea and a tipper video. Sweet relief!
That is so hot!
Causing weird storms and power outages. No ac for hrs was no joke.
My mother put solar power lights at the edge of her garden, and it seems to be working.
Deer won't jump a double fence. I learned that on Living Traditions Homestead channel.
It's always hard when the anniversary of someone's passing comes around, especially the first one. I continue to pray for all of you, as I know that many changes have happened this past year. It's great to hear that Matt was able to purchase his previous truck back! Thanks for taking us along to the large garden! It's really coming along! 🌽🌽
Now and again I see an old comment from Miss Cindy on your channels. ❤️
God bless you Tipper, I remember the passing of Miss Cindy,
Thank you Norman!!
A groundhog ate all of the tops of my beans. He left everything else alone. Caught him one night when I went out to sit on my back porch. I let my dog out more often now and haven't had a problem. (knock on wood) Thanks for the video and good luck.
I know that was frustrating! Hopefully he won't come back now 😊
So nice to sit down in the shade next to the garden
"She's probably barking at a bug." That gave me a good laugh. It really sounds like lovely Olive though. LOL My Grandma used to always say, "it's hot as a bake oven out there." My Grandpa had a lot of hot weather sayings, but not suitable for polite company. LOL Your hard work in the gardens is really coming to fruition and I'm so happy for you. God bless.
My area of Indiana already has sweet corn. I haven't tried it yet though. I might go pick some up today.
Glad Matt got his truck back! The Gardens look great! I heard dog hair works good too if you know a groomer or someone who brushes their dog. Wish you well! ❤🎉
This video visit is restful and a bit humorouse ; I'm a bit lethargic from potting flowers in the heat, so we all were glad for a sit-down !!
