To help push the air out fill your sink with water and put your bag of meat in the water with the seal out of the water and submerge until all but the seal is under then close shut. The water helps push all the air out. Hope this helps, God bless.

Good supper Papa! Everything looked wonderful. Being around the table with all your girls, what a blessing. Next year at this time the table will look a little different with the high chairs and little boys learning to eat those wonderful Appalachian dishes.

Matt is such a great dad and husband ! You two are so blessed to have each other ! I Love to hear you sit around and talk! I had to learn to cook at a young age or starve !
Matt reminds me of my deceased Husband in that he was a great cook and also helped in caring for our 4 children when they were young. Unfortunately I lost him @ age of 55 from cancer. Matt seems to be a great cook, daddy and husband.

I worked the graveyard for 27 years. It was good for when our son was at home. No daycare costs. When he was older, Summers, school vacations, and sick days weren’t a problem because I was home during the day.
My first meal I cooked were hamburgers, beans & don’t remember exactly what veggie but it was for my cooking badge in Girl Scouts!
When my husband worked night shift, he’d have problem getting to sleeping! I had to keep our girls quiet. He’d end up falling to sleep late & I’d have to wake him in time to drive back to work! I was so glad when he got a day shift again!
You all put a smile on my face!!!

There’s nothing like living by your family. And Katie & Corie’s children can grow up having close relationships too. I wouldn’t change a thing for growing up surrounded by my family… and can’t imagine not having all my cousins (Besties) around. I was an only child, but never alone or unloved. I was Blessed. If I had a lot of money… I would buy that house for them! But since I don’t I am praying it works out 🙏🏻❤️

Howdy y'all. Matt I like how you measure by eyeballin. That's how I do too. What a great supper. I was thinking come spring, Corie and Austin are going to have a lot more prospects for their house. I bet it sells in no time. We turn our clocks this coming weekend. Matt can be " Top Corn Dog" when it comes to the big garden.

Tipper, my husband worked 3rd shift at a can company in town. When he came home in the morning, he couldn't go right to bed because he was wide awake and had to "wind down" as he would say. Usually around 9:00 am, he started to dose off. That's when I had to jump into action to make sure our little ones didn't make too much noise. Our house was really small and since he was a light sleeper, there were many times when he heard something, woke up, and then couldn't fall back to sleep right away. He eventually moved to the day shift and worked normal day hours. It was so much better for the entire family. He worked hard his whole life and was a good provider. He passed away 4 years ago and we sure miss him.

Working nights in the hospital meant no management! Yay! However in the ER we always got the strangest people, sicknesses, injuries, and happenings. I loved it! Supper looked delicious! Girls look healthy! So glad everything is progressing! God bless!

Matt you can tenderize any meat by sprinkling about a 1/2 tsp. of corn starch over each piece of meat and let it sit for the same amount of time you marinate it.

I learned recently one of the reasons the Native Americans did the three sisters' planting is that the winter squash plants deterred the deer from eating the corn. Try some winter squash around the border of your corn!

If Corries & Austins realtor hasn't given them this suggestion...taking those deer & hogs heads down and storing them maybe in the garage might help in getting buyers. Not everyone admires those. But anyhow I wish them all the best. Such a lovely & loving couple❤

My husband worked graveshift at Tinker Air Force Base painting large planes and loved it. All the managers worked day shift and made his work much easier according to him.

Consider a solar powered fence charger for the deer. We have to put fence around ours or we won’t make any garden. I usually put up around 5 strands and make the top one about chest high.
I worked nights for 32 years. Sure wore me down. It was good as far as having to take the girls places like the doctor and such.
Me and my sister always played in the woods and rivers. Picked berries and find pray mantis. Best life. ❤
My brother burned a huge round spot in the woods. An after that it grew leaks. Healthy dark green leaks. But never new it was healthy to burn the forest. Media lies. God bless🙏
Yummy! I love backstrap venison. I always soaked mine in buttermilk overnight and then tenderized and marinated it prior to slow cooking it with peppers and onions. Now, that's mighty fine eating.
An old wives tale I’ve heard down here in Georgia is planting sage around the garden, deer won’t cross it. If it works or not, I’ve no idea. Might be worth a try 😊❤

I also love the old ways of talking. I’m from Southeastern Kentucky but live in Northern Kentucky now. I say old words a lot and love to see the reactions of ppl which most of the time in get to explain. Also, just this winter I got to fix the last of my Leather Breeches. You do what you have to do but it sure helps when one is young! Some of those jobs and hours I did in my 20’s I know I couldn’t do now that I’m almost 51! Lol.
