The comments are rude. People are incredibly rude in the past few years and I have noticed comments get more so with each passing day. It is not about taking things personally, it is that we live in a sh**hole world and that is part of the culture these days. People can make nasty comments by hiding behind a keyboard.
I am grateful for her videos.

A la chingada con Los haters. You know what, I used to only have $15 a week to spend on groceries and I had to buy everything from the 99c store. I had to be very creative and buy a lot of pasta and things that are filling. I felt embarrassed about my financial situation but I was grateful to still eat. No one can judge. You are amazing

I agree! In 1988 at 18yrs old I was on my own making $7 an hour full time and renting a $200 a month basement room. And trying to go to college. I could only afford 1 class & the books every semester . I never ate breakfast- only lunch & sometimes dinner. Lunch was sometimes two 79c Taco Bell tacos. A lot of nights I didn’t eat unless someone invited me to dinner. Sometimes I ate spaghetti (no meat),or buttered noodles, canned soup, grilled cheese, quesadillas, beans & rice etc. A splurge was Lg cheese/sausage pizza w/ 2- liter soda for $10 that I would stretch out a few days. I really couldn’t afford a lot of food/ groceries back then or have all the spices. I didn’t have a lot of direction & no RUclips back then for ideas. I’m happy people can watch these videos and get some ideas on how to stretch $ and ingredients out. Really as long as your belly is full it doesn’t matter if it’s not super healthy or pulling from every food group.

Sadly we all got accustomed to either eating out or having expensive home made meals for the past few years, and I have tried so many different bread recipes ,but yours by far is the tastiest and least expensive. I don't shop at walmart, and I don't eat pork ,but I was able to find everything you have in this video, and because 5 mouths to feed I doubled up. It cost 1/4 of what I normally would spend in a week. Her skills and advice are very helpful for those living on a tight budget. Some people did not learn how to cook from scratch at home, and homemade food is healthier than cheap, processed food bought at the grocery store - for example her bread and tortillas. Her recipes are cheaper and have no strange artificial ingredients or preservatives. It may not be the healthiest food in general, but healthy foods cost a lot of money these days. I appreciate her sharing her knowledge with many people who may really need to know how to eat on a small budget.

      Yes! @lorim is right!
Try to budget for a whole chicken. Then, roast it with the seasoning of your choosing.
Once cooked, separate the chicken into portions for several meals. For 2 people this will be plenty!
With the chicken carcass, boil it to make a broth which you can then use for soups or stews.
If you do not have an oven, you can simply boil the chicken to cook, then boil again to make the bone broth. With this option you'll have extra stock to freeze.
In your area, try to find religious organizations or non-profits that can give you things from the food pantry.
Respectfully, try to stay away from consuming hot dogs or extremely processed meats.
I hope these suggestions help and I pray your situation gets better. 🙏

Walmart over by the fresh chicken breast has a 10 lb bag of chicken quarters. Depending on where you are it's either Tyson or Perdue. Upstate NY right now they're around $8.00 a bag. I cut the legs from the thighs and usually use the legs for soups snd things. It has gotten us through a lot of rough times since hubby is on SS and that's our only income. I've paid $8.00 for hot dogs I know this chicken can definitely help 10 lbs goes a long way. I know the have bags of legs too but it's either the same price or a little more which makes no sense to me. Hope it helps.

I really enjoyed the simplicity of how you made your bread. Most bread videos I see use a fancy mixer, expensive bowls, a proofing drawer, and who knows what else...you used a bowl, tabletop, and your hands. I think it was brilliant. I like the '350 for 3 minutes then off' oven proofing. I subscribed and do hope you keep making these videos. It was very relaxing to watch as well, but by far my favorite part is how non-judgemental and happy you are sharing the recipes--you seem to have fun helping others and I really enjoyed watching.

    Waste not, want not tips:
    - Save pickle juice and add it to some mayo and ketchup for a little pickle flavor on the hot dogs and burgers. Pickle juice can also be used in a potato salad when you're out of pickles. Make refrigerator pickles from cucumbers, popsicles for the kids, add a cup to a crockpot pork roast, etc. It can be used as the vinegar in homemade drain cleaner with baking soda and salt.
    - Give the tuna liquid to your furbabies.
    - Save the corn liquid, broccoli liquid, lentil liquid and most all veggie liquids in a freezer container for soup stock. Yeah, not sauerkraut liquid! Save green pea liquid but use sparingly in most soups as it has a strong flavor but it can be frozen separately to use when making pea soup. Beet liquid can be added to baked goods and spinach/greens liquid can be added to crepes for a nice wrap for a little added nutrition. Mild veg liquids can be used as the liquid when making gravies and sauces - yes, it will change the flavor but it's still good.
    - If you happen to be using fresh corn, use the silk for tea, carefully remove the husks to dry for tamales and use the cobs for jelly or syrup.
    - When you are out of pinto, red bean and black beans the liquids can be cooked down to a thicker consistency for a side dish or fill a tortilla or top nachos. Bean liquids can be used in making meringue candy.
    - Roll some of the dough out, add any leftovers, roll up and cut into pinwheels. Top with butter and seasonings and bake, yum.
    - Do a search to find the proper way to heat eggshells to sterilize them (low heat in the oven). Ground them fine and you have human calcium supplement.
