Pizza Hut was a real hangout in the 80's. The pizza was way different back then. The garlic toast was to die for, the salads were incredible. And yes, the juke box made it elite. Spent many a days there with my friends.

When our granddaughter was trying to talk, we called ourselfs Grandma & Grandpa. She couldn't say it and it came out as Mawmaw and Pawpaw. When our Grandson came along, he called us the same. We loved it , and 23 years later we are still Mawmaw and Pawpaw. Being Grandparents is a wonderful thing. We have a sign over our kitchen door that says Pawpaw and Mawmaw's Place.

That has a different meaning today than back then.

The end is hilarious. It’s like there’s a sort of organization-intervention going on. Katie: “I’m tellin’ you…” 😄 Hallelujah on the built-ins EVERYWHERE. Every baby is a blessing, but getting grandkids, it is hard to explain how much your heart expands. You grandparents might just get christened with your names by your grandboys. 💙 Katie, may God bless you and your baby every step of the way. My oldest granddaughter started calling us MaGa and PaGa. My daughter would say to her. "Say grandma", and she would say MaGa. "Say grandpa," and she would say "PaGa." The names stuck. When her little came along we were MaGa and PaGa. I love it. It's different. When my oldest son was little he would not say granddad. He would say dad grand every time. Enjoyed this! Pizza Hut here in eastern WV was quite the place for us and our girls in the 80’s. They had “Book It” for school kids. If you read so many books in school, you got a certificate for a free little pan pizza. One of our daughters had her 10th bd party at PH. I got a puppy before my brother had kids. For her, I called Mom and Dad Maw Maw and Paw Paw. Same reason as Matt said, it was slightly hillbilly-esque and made me smile. Then the grandkids came along and the names stuck. 😂. You won’t care what they call you just so long as they’re calling. ❤ Mom (80) and I (53) love watching your family - and we have to watch together. I caught here watching the other night and called her out. My dad was called Pa Paw, we called his dad Pa Paw and my dad called his grandfather Pa Paw. So, that was what I wanted to be called when my grandsons came along. Four generations of Pa Paws. Wouldn't have it any other way!! ❤

When we were growing up, my brother was a collector of 45" records. There was great music in the 60s and 70s. When he got married, he decided that he wanted a juke box because he knew that his children would enjoy it. He found one for sale, bought it, and put it in his family room in the basement. He loaded some of those 45s, and the rest is history. There was always a lot of dancing and singing through the years. Sadly, he died 6 years ago of ALS, a horrible disease. The juke box was silent for awhile but now his son's family is enjoying it. Tipper, I wish you, Matt, and the girls a Blessed Christmas. Thank you for sharing your life with us. God bless you.

My family always quilted out of necessity, but those quilts were always so beautiful. My sister quilts for her grands now. It's a wonderful craft. Our oldest grand son always called us Papa and Grandma, but 10 years later when our 2nd one came he called us Papa and Baaga,. Now all 4 of our grandsons call me Baaga even our oldest. I had never heard Baaga before but he couldn't say grandma and Baaga stuck. You'll love whatever they call you. 😄❤🙏

My husband and I always went to Pizza Hut on our dates in the late 70s in Des Moines, Iowa. We’d sit in the tiny table in the corner. It was big enough for just the two of us. Oh the memories!

Back in the early summer, a mama cat brought her three babies onto my enclosed porch via a broken storm door. I began feeding them after I came home to a dead bird on my porch. She has since had another litter. 2 of the kittens were run over, one from each litter. Now I am feeding six cats. Just call me the crazy cat lady, lol! 😂 yes they have names too.

Greetings from Pennsylvania. Matt looks like he has lost weight. My mother in-law had a big wood burning cook stove in her kitchen. We made plenty of grilled cheese sandwiches on it.we cooked right on griddle surface. I would buy the groceries for a meal specially to cook on the cook stove. My wife Sandy always liked my cooking, Fried green beans and fried potatoes & onions was always delicious cooked on it.
I had the most wonderful mother in-law. Each week I planned a Mel to cook at her home, we had some of the most wonderful meals and wonderful memories,.Family life has always been important to me. Anyhow as I said I was blessed having such a wonderful mother in-law.

My grandson is 3 1/2 years
I have been his babysitter since he was 6 weeks old. And when talking to him about myself or my husband I would say "ganmama and gandadday". Then when he started talking, out of the blue, he started calling us "Oma and Opa". Lol
We have no idea where that came from. We're not german/dutch. But we love it!
He now has a baby brother that will be 3 months old on Christmas, and we assume he will call us the same thing. But you just never know.
Happy holidays, and congratulations on the 2 grandbabies on the way.
