Amazing tutorial. Can't believe YT hadn't recommended your channel sooner! So many things to pick up from this tutorial. Thank you. Checking the rest of your content now!!
How can you reverse this effect. Let's say you're looking at your phone and you go through the phone screen to the next layer. Say a video clip where your facetiming someone and you zoom through the phone screen to be in the room with who ever you were facetiming with? Understand?
I am actually more intrigued by the effect you have at the very end with the boxes sliding next to each other to create a full image. I've been looking for this for days. Is there a name for this kind of technique? Do you have a tutorial on it? The video is cool and easy to follow. Thanks for sharing!
Hi mate. Is this tutorial bit similar to benn tk's keyhole transition? I cant figure out the key rotation passing though through the keyhole then finishes with a motion blur transition to the next shot exiting the keyhole
The effect does not seem to be working for me when I try with it on Resolve. I've been using the Dynamic Zoom, trying swapping like you did on the Shrek video, and changing to Ease in and out. Do I need to keep the video that is going through the mask on the layer underneath or on top? You do different things in each video. Hoping for some help, as you're one of the few people I've seen that has offered a tutorial on this transition. Thanks!
hello, thanks for the tutorial, it works fine in principle, but as soon as i create an alpha output and connect it to the tracking node, resolve crashes almost reliably within seconds (Resolve 15.3.1 on OSX 10.11.6). My project so far is only 2min long, no 4k material or so, apart from the node there is not much to calculate yet. The identical project saved without the node is running fine. is this problem known?
Another very interesting effect. I've done something similar in a video, but also zoomed the underlying clip to make the zoom look less artistic and more realistic. Cool tutorial, nonetheless!
I think the effect would be better if you could link the layers, so in After Effects for example you can pickwhip layers to each other, that would make the layers/clips scale simultaiously and in my opinion add a lot more realism but anyway good tutorial :)
Two questions: How do I find the Alpha Output for Resolve 16? And are you able, or how do you zoom in/move around (ex the photo or video) while outlining the eye or phone, if it's possible? Amazing tutorial btw. Love the edits!
Hands down the best tutorials that I've watched. So many answered questions that I've been searching for, for a while now. Thanks.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but maybe you can get the info you need from it: ruclips.net/video/Y8H830YPhZY/видео.html

Thanks for you tutorials. Very nice job. Greetings from Germany. 👍
Is there a way to do this with with a zoom in effect, instead of zooming out like you showed in the video?
Dila G. There is a way, instead of positioning the green box into the item, position the red box into it

Super tutorial, thx 👍👍

Wouldn't it be possible to let the power window of the eye disappear by using the keyframes in the colour section?
thank you so much
Awesome video

Montclair's Lair thanks for checking it out! Better than Mr Ferris 😉
This would have been a worthy addition to this tutorial. Hopefully Mr Waa can figure it out for us ;-)
Hi, I don't see any green and red box turning on dynamic zoom. Is it only for studio version?
I think its just an older version he used. (14 and 15)
Can you do this with the free version or do I have to buy the software
Works in both
Hope you make a video on how to animate still image like a propuppet but doing it in davinci resolve.
Do you mean like this?
ruclips.net/video/Zl6fod1nJEU/видео.html
Nice tutorial! Couldn't this be made in the Fusion page? Why did you choose to do it in the Color page? Is it easier than Fusion?
Fidel H Viegas possibly. I made it before fusion was available.
@@WaaProductions thanks! Keep up with the good work.
cool man

Where can I find a video clip of phone ? Like the one in his video ?
my image doesn't fit in the phone

Right click > Alpha Output

Awesome.
wouldnt it have been easier and more lifelike if you chroma keyed it to the phone while having the phone show a green image when filming?
