I started youtubeing around last year November , before that I would watch your videos and others on Davinci Resolve, now Fast-forward... I have people telling me my editing is amazing or very good, I have people asking me to do videos or edit for them, offering me jobs. So thank you, thank you for taking the time and effort to teach and help others grow. Thank you Alextech🔥💯🖤
I learnt more in the last 15 minutes, than I have watching Davinci for beginners for the last two days. Your explanations are clear and at a speed that beginners can understand.
When you skip ahead to learn something, realize its a really good tip, and then go back and watch the rest of the video looking for more nuggets (never knew you could double click to reset a slider!) :)
@@MrAlexTech I went for the drop shadow tip (i had always been peparing my images in photoshop). The blanking fill after was interesting too, and then the guassian blur, I had always been doing this on the color page. So basically I didn't know about all these effects and basically never used them. I will now. Thanks for watching my vids!
YOU ARE SO AMZING ALEX REALLY!... I give to all your videos directly a ThumbsUp...unbelievable, never seen a RUclipsr, where all their every single Vid are PERFECT! AMAZING! Youre ma man, man :)
As an ex advertising industry professional, my first introduction to DaVinci was this high end 'complicated' post production platform where big budget projects were executed in cool expensive studios. Black Magic should reward you now for making DaVinci no longer intimidating for non professional editors/film makers and thus helping more and more people get added to the platform. Kudos!
That would be me! I've been wanting to take the plunge into making RUclipss for fun. I was reluctant to start with a free editor because I would then have to transition to a more sophisticated editor down the road and start another learning curve. Adobe is just too expensive to learn on unless one is going to commit to a deep time investment upfront to get to the point skill wise where Adobe PR is worth the monthly cost. And even then, it's hard to justify if you aren't intending to make money from your content. DaVinci Resolve 18 is amazing! RUclipsrs such as Alex have helped me easily learn the basics and reach a point where I can create a decent quality video and experiment with creative editing. DaVinci Resolve can take me as far as I want to go. No need to move to Adobe now or in the future.
Among all Resolve channels on RUclips, you are the only one that gives practical examples of what should be done with the software. Not just teaching academic content. Thank you.
Alex, I don’t often leave comments for anyone but I would feel remiss if I didn’t say thank you for your continued efforts to brings us very useable information in a easily digestible way. It’s always a good day when you post something new.
I'm actually really proud that I use each of these. One thing I'm moving away from us keyframing the audio for ducking. I still use it sometimes but find it more convenient to cut the audio at the points where it needs to increase or decrease and add cross fades on both ends. It's more net clicks but gives the flexibility to nudge those cuts around back and forth. Doing that with the keyframes is a little cumbersome.
Right on Alex...thanks for the tips. 17° C here in Canada today and may get up to 24 C...freaking heatwave! Enjoy the weekend sir and stay out of trouble , or not.
Alex, I’m finding your content so much more helpful and the content truly a cut above most. You deliver quickly without feeling rushed, entertaining without rambling or silliness. It feels like you respect my time. I really appreciate that. Thank you!
Just wanted to drop a quick note of gratitude. Your simple and easy-to-follow videos got me started with DaVinci, and I've learned so much. Thanks for being the inspiration behind my own journey into the video editing process. Keep up the fantastic work!
Adding a freeze frame to the end of the video to be able to keep showing that frame before moving on is going to change my life. I've been doing it in such a harder way! Thank you!
Absolutely the best DR17 tutorial I've seen in a very long time. 11 tips, each done with unique media, one picture or one clip at a time, but applicable to ALL the things I actually want to do! Kel
I thought to myself, I probably know most of these but will watch anyway. Turns out, I didn't know any of them, and learned a lot! Thanks for the lesson!
Been fooling around with DVR for half a year now and I only knew one or two of these tips. Rest of them were a real game-changer for me. Thanks a lot Alex :D
I just started playing about in Davinci Resolve three days ago. I never did anything with drone footage I've taken and figured I'd give it a try. I found the UI reasonably intuitive, and I had an absolute blast editing my first video. Really, really loved it. I'm hooked! This video was really fantastic, especially for someone like me! Great tips and can't wait to try them out. Earned a sub (and then some). Thank you.
An absolutely amazing row of great tips! It's like being in a magic faerie land - you say the magic words and wonders appear! ;) Dear Alex, this is just what I was looking for, for my next videos! Thank you so much!! 😊
This is an amazing video for an inexperienced video editor (asking for a 'friend') who has had to produce less than great work so far. You touch on many 'advanced' topics that really should be introduced earlier for study.
This was absolutely brilliant mate. I just started with Resolve yesterday. No prior experience whatsoever. It's unbelievable the type and quality of content you can find now for free. Thank you for taking the time Alex and for making such quality content available for people like me.
Nearly everything I have planned to use has been explained beautifully in this video. Thanks a lot, and yes, I will be watching this channel. Like a hawk. Tip for newcomers to Resolve. If your laptop is not powerful enough for the latest version, then drop back to earlier versions to find one that will work on your machine. There is even a Lite version 11 available, which will still give you the basic programme.
@@MrAlexTech I mean, all your videos have helped me no end - but this one has given me some really cool ideas (I'm only starting out so I am really grateful man🙏🏻)
i cut my teeth on final cut back when it first came out and switched to 3D game development. Started my youtube channel on gameplay and quick reviews a few months ago, but clearly needed to revamp my skills. I do like resolve so far and your channel has been pretty educational in helping me with my learning curve to get back on the horse again. :) thank you for all your work and helping us little guys gain the necessary skills to improve on what we love to do. :)
Excellent tips 👍 I've been using Davinchi for about 2 years now doing weekly videos but still found a couple of little short cuts that I didn't know about watching this video, thanks 😎
Haven't even watched the video yet and made sure I saved it for future use. This information is absolutely imperative to channels young and old. Thanks for the awesome work!
Just loving your stuff. Each video packed with good hints. With just a few days of watching Black Magic’s tutorials I’m feeling capable of following your instructions. It’s nice to get to that level, which is not very high. Retaining the info will require putting my hands to doing it, else I’ll forget it by tomorrow or even sooner. Really appreciating your videos now, so thank you.
There are many great channels on editing, but you're without any doubt the go-to when it comes to Davinci. Simple but practical tips that I'll be using immediately. Excellent!
Thanks for these tips! I didn't know you could do the freeze frame from that menu and I've never used the blanking fill, it will save me a lot of time!
I thought I was pretty good with Davinci Resolve, but I learned a lot of new tricks. And even for the stuff I knew how to do, it was helpful to see how a pro does it more efficiently.
If I find myself not having to stop and take notes on an instructional video it's because the instructor and the presentation was so natural and easy to follow that I just absorbed everything without having to write it down. Your narrative pace and clarity coupled with your cursor movement and selections are super easy to follow along. I learned a ton of things with this video - and without wasted viewing time. I look forward to viewing more of your channel. Thank you MrAlex (Subscribed)
I started creating 2 months ago with a crappy editor, I switched to resolve recently and I'm not going back. One tip I have for creators is to find a way to integrate zooms into your videos, they give emphasis and make elements of your video stick out, just make sure to check dynamic zoom so it is smooth. Also, fading out is a great way to end a video.

I agree with that!
Agreed! Thank you Alex!
Yea, after five years of using Resolve I never noticed there is something like Adjustment Clip, that immediately become my favourite tool.
It's not there for so long :D
Yeaaah they were introduced in Resolve 16 I think! So they've been there for nearly 2 years now :) They're a great addition! I use them all the time.
Why have I only seen this video 1 year after it was uploaded!? You deserve triple the amount of attention on this video bro, was really helpful!!
