New Zealand is doing great. We have just come out of lockdown and have moved to a level 3 alert and seemed to have flattened the curve. Feeling for those on the east coast of the USA.
Brilliant. Masks stumped me for ages. Your tutorials are clear, concise and to the point. Love the fact that there is little waffle. You are now my favourite Da Vinci tutor.
bro i got frustrated so bad and started thinking ''yeah no one would ever make a tutorial on that.'' but here i am, and i stand defeated. i applaude you sir!
@@BillyRybka Yeah..Funny!. When i was younger, i went by Billy, then Bill in college. My wife/family call my BIlly. Everyone else calls me Bill. Decided to mix it up and do William (only on RUclips).
best davinci resolve tutorial channel on youtube hands down, mate! Here in Australia we're also in lockdown. I had to cancelled my trip to Bali due to the corona virus and now just have to chill. Hope everything comes back to normal soon
Was scrolling cuz searched resolve beginner tutorial . .. find u man ... And wasn't expecting that u r going to teach me something.. new that's a lot..in 7 mins..but it took me 45 mins to complete all... And ur energy don't let me get bored.. #keep it up yo
Thanks for making this video! I’m new to resolve so this was very helpful for learning how to mask. Keep up the great work, you just got a new subscriber!
Dude I dunno how u only get 10k subs. I've been following you for a while now and I learned so much from you in that short amount of time. You do great tutorials. Thank you so much.
Thank you, I knew how to do so much in premiere pro and i've been slowly relearning in divinci. I didn't want to use the fusion tab for everything and this was the perfect tutorial for the masking and keyframing in the color tab! :)
You have awesome tutorials. I habe been now editing from zero for 2,5 months and same time travelling around asia. Im happy that i found your channel, its been very helpfull!! Thanks! Keep it going!
Another great video! Although I might have to slow it down to follow along (I'm not native english speaking either). 😅 But I really like these quick tutorial. I'd like to know more about masking when color grading. Here in Norway very much is closed down, from public buildings, schools, librarys and more. Plus that people are encouraged to work from home and keep their distance from others. The sad thing is that this has a bad impact on small business owners too. I guess it's the same almost all over the world now. Not good! Regarding the virus itself I'm doing okay though! Stay healthy, you all! 🙂
Hey Thanks man. Yeah I can imagine that a lot is closed down! Pretty much everything in my area is closed down. NY has become the top state in the Us for cases of Covid19. Glad you are staying healthy bro :)
Great tutorial Billy! Thank you! Staying safe here in the UK! London has it pretty bad at the moment. I'm miles away in the countryside but it's still early days. 🤞 for everyone!
I've been teaching myself more and more Resolve as Covid-19 continues and your videos so far have been awesome. I wanted to ask you is Fusion vs Color tabs about preference, specific things, or a mix of when it's the right tool for the job? I was using the color tab at first a lot, now Fusion and I just am wondering if it's good to focus on one vs the other or if I should learn both near equally.
Can you tell me how to import image sequence in resolve quickly. Or any particular workflow, especially for managing image sequences that also have different render passes.
Thanks bro. You are doing a great work for beginners like me. One small request from my side, pls zoom while click the options for better visibility and slow a little bit while clicking in order engage the flow continuously. Otherwise I have to revisit again and again. A big love ❤ from my side....!
Question: Instead of masking the sky and closing the mask from outside, can we surround the portrait so we don't need to invert, leaving the sky unmasked? Literally just found Davinci a couple days ago and you helped me a lot. Like a LOT!
Crazy face zooms Billy !! You need a VR headset warning for them :-) Can you do it this in fusion too. Many Thanks. My machine cant cope with the color tab. Long story.
Haha thanks Ian :) thought people would like them. Yes, you can but its a little more tedious. If your computer cant handle the color tab it probably wont be able to handle the fusion tab. maybe im wrong though :)
How are you all doing with this Virus? Are you Staying Healthy? Let me know!
I am waiting for my PC all the time
HAHA thats funny!
Schools cancelled, quarantine here.
I was in the epicenter a month ago (in China) and now staying in Thailand. It looks like Asia is much safer at the moment though

Amazing crisp and quick. An idea for part 2, please one with another node, to which add any effect like blur etc..
Didn't I once see a video about using the Qualifier for sky replacement? Time for a tutorial on that one. Thanks for this one though, too.
ooo that could be fun! Yes we can do that in the future!
@@BillyRybka And someone use Fusion keyers to do sky replacement. Many styles to do same thing in Resolve..
Alright, that was quick and easy. Very understandable. Thanks Billy!

Thanks for showing this.
With the newest version of DaVinci resolve is the pen tool still needed, or has creating a mask become a quicker procedure?
Billy, Love it man. Keep em coming. Thank you.

Ironically fusion works OK 99% of the time. And yes, I'm sure, like tracking, fusion can be a bit more involved
