id say one of the biggest problems in this game is bad defense they really need to do something with flawless block and damage scaling and using kameos as a crutch
If this game had the counter system from deadly alliance i PROMISE you Johnny Cage Kenshi Raiden wouldn't be so top tier anymore

@@rayhoyer4829 exactly like that. Its a way to punish someone spamming safe plus on block attacks and a way to defensively turn the tides. To make them think twice about using a certain move or hit string
The worst hit-boxes in the game are Smoke’s stupid double kick where the hits don’t even connect yet the combo keeps going and Sindel’s diagonal air kick, if she goes over you and her butt barely grazes the top of your head the hit-box will suck you in like it was a kick
Not just that there low and or high animations that look low or high but hits opposite

When ever somebody say , GET GOOD . I automatically know they are a SKINROLLER. MORTAL KOMBAT has the most toxic people who play it . That's why I'd rather play STREET FIGHTER or KOF online. Such a better class of people play it . But I'm not saying all MK PLAYERS are bad people. It doesn't help that people watch toxic people like SIKANDER and SONICFOX . It tells you everything that's wrong with the MORTAL KOMBAT community i need to know . And TEKKEN should be called PLUGGEN .

It's pretty toxic I've played SF and they're nicer. The reason why I play MK it's cuz it's easier for me to learn.

This is why I only really play the invasion towers for the levelling all the characters and learning all the characters separately.
These games have always been about a back and forth of small combos until RUclips videos came out training all these exploit combos.

And that's all people know how to do. Just because they know one high damage combo doesn't make them good at the game. I don't think you have skill if all you do is spam a single combo the entire match.

The comment abiuy taking the player past the ground floor seems pretty real. Warner tries to make all players feel like they are good by giving them good high damaging combos easily, increasing retention and the possibility they will buy dlc and keep the game alive.
So Fate still thinks that combo damage is the biggest issue regarding MK1's gameplay huh? Nothing changed it seems.
I disagree with him saying that's the biggest issue. To me, it's the kameo system that's the biggest issue. Everyone uses the same 2 kameos and they are all used for the same purpose, make unsafe moves safe, and extend combos. None of the kameos do anything unique. Even the bad ones do the same thing as the good ones. Why would you use them when you have kameos that do what they do but better?
@@theretrogamingnerd3316 Exactly, the real issue with Kameos is how they affect the neutral game itself, combos in this game are definetely above average in terms of dmg imo but that's not a relevant issue when you have moves that should be unsafe of punishable being not only safe but plus at times because of Kameos. If fate dedicated himself a little bit to understand the basics of frame data and how they affect your understanding of the game in general he would be taken more seriously even by "onlypros".

It really is. I face decent opponents I can win. I face garbage lame spammers with zero IQ gameplay and I get robbed off Ws. I main Havik to which doesn’t help.
I wish Iron Galaxy would take Mortal Kombat. I'd like a Killer Instinct style MK.

IMO MK11 has far better gameplay than mk1 in terms of actual skill being applied during the neutral and punishing moves.In MK11 I dont have to be scared to punish an unsafe move the entire time.MK1 has better kombos but everything else is far more frustrating than MK11 in my opinion.
The kameo system is what's killing Mortal Kombat 1. Half of the roster isn't even used. Every kameo is used for the same purpose. They are used to make unsafe moves safe, and extend combos. None of them do anything that's unique.

I don't care if they casualise fighting games, whatever, as long as the game is fun to play. I had the most fun in King of Fighters 13: Global Match recently. Didn't win much, but who cares.

I'll just play MK11, because I quite liked it when I tried it. Then again, $15 for Ultimate Edition probably made it better.
I played all the old games, in arcades and consoles. I remember Mortal Monday, when Mortal Kombat came out, back in '92. I played MK2, MK3 in arcades, MK3 Ultimate in arcades.
I know how these games played and Mortal Kombat has always been slower than its Japanese competitors.
If you lose, you lose, but yeah, Netherrealm needs to balance their games.
