If you haven't noticed this dlc is focused around the Lin Kuei. I don't see why people are upset because they gender swapped fucking ROBOTS! And when you think about it they started this gender swap bullshit with Subzero and created frost soooooo I don't see the problem.
They didn't gender swap Sub-Zero, they made an additional character with a backstory, in-depth or not, that was female. Cyrax and Sektor were human that were dissected and developed into cyborgs/robots. If a warrior based Chinese clan were to steal babies to be trained into warriors, they would be male. These 2 characters already had a backstory, and eventhough this is different timelines, there are still similarities and continuities within their arcs and development.

You are right about the fight scenes. Remember the Armageddon opening cut scene. You can't even hear the impact of blows anymore. It's like they are playing patty cake. Power Rangers had more dangerous fight choreography. In the MK movies and animated series they are killing each other and doing fatal blows and breaking bones and maiming each other. But in the main thing the fans follow in the games now in the cut scenes if you notice they look like they are fake fighting and they won't even hurt or kill any random nobodies. It's all for the trailers and ad revenue they get for the trailers so they have to make it as sanitized as possible. Gotta get that Marvel audience like you said. If you haven't noticed this dlc is focused around the Lin Kuei. I don't see why people are upset because they gender swapped fucking ROBOTS! And when you think about it they started this gender swap bullshit with Subzero and created frost soooooo I don't see the problem.
They didn't gender swap Sub-Zero, they made an additional character with a backstory, in-depth or not, that was female. Cyrax and Sektor were human that were dissected and developed into cyborgs/robots. If a warrior based Chinese clan were to steal babies to be trained into warriors, they would be male. These 2 characters already had a backstory, and eventhough this is different timelines, there are still similarities and continuities within their arcs and development.

You are right about the fight scenes. Remember the Armageddon opening cut scene. You can't even hear the impact of blows anymore. It's like they are playing patty cake. Power Rangers had more dangerous fight choreography. In the MK movies and animated series they are killing each other and doing fatal blows and breaking bones and maiming each other. But in the main thing the fans follow in the games now in the cut scenes if you notice they look like they are fake fighting and they won't even hurt or kill any random nobodies. It's all for the trailers and ad revenue they get for the trailers so they have to make it as sanitized as possible. Gotta get that Marvel audience like you said. End of the day this is a new world none of them are the characters we grew up loving and using at this point they are just names in a game and a vague resemblance, the character history has been erased and simplified, these are not the same characters so getting angry about it is pointless at this point. I don’t like anything after it, MK 9 was just a way to lull fans into a state of trust, hope and enthusiasm for the future of the franchise to try and keep the hardcore fans around and then they began to try to gaslight fans into believing the new age and timelines were just way miles ahead better than the Midway Timeline Era, and sadly a lot of those hardcore fans got brainwashed into believing the new Netherrealm era was great when in fact it just wasn’t.
You could argue that there are some good things about the Netherrealm era, but in my opinion it’s just not enough, and I see this Netherrealm era as a brand new fighting game franchise, it just isn’t Mortal Kombat to me personally.

Alright hear me out because if they are trying to make a new fresh mk game right. I would have liked to see Scorpion as Bihan and actually make him evil so we can get a fresh take on Noob Saibot. Sub Zero was always the grand master so you would play as the father not one of the brothers. Kuai liang either was orphan or half brother to bihan hence the animosity. Instead of gender bending they could have made cyrax the evil genious behind the cyber initiative and sector was actually the brother of Bihan and was sent out on the mythologies quest time line or something.
