    • @danielhoskins4690
      @danielhoskins4690 4 года назад +1

Produce Like A Pro came of age in the early 90’s, legal to drink at the end of the decade. I had mates in bands from that time, and knew older guys when I worked in a friary record shop during that time, but really was working at the railway in Winchester and putting gigs on at the joiners in soton in the early 2000’s that got me really interested in the local scene.
My memory from teenage years might be just too unreliable at this point!

Thanks, Lee. This was great. Warren is a real sweetheart. His channel is a treasure trove and whenever I ask a question, Warren replies almost immediately. His love for music is paired perfectly with his natural enthusiasm. Talk about "never working a day in your life..." So perfect to see a guy who clearly loves gear (go and watch his tours through Sunset Sound, etc.) and yet reply to your great closing question, talking about the magic a producer can get through personal attention to performances. Genuinely wonderful guy. Cheers.

You know what, talking about music being a part of you: in the late 80s I moved from an Atari STFM running Cubase, to a Roland MC500, and from that day to this, inside my head lives a continuous ‘bip-bip-bip’ metronome.
And for that reason, my timing is almost “mechanical” - so on-point that I find a lot of musicians I’ve played with suffer terribly with timing issues.
And for me, timing should be one of the the first things you learn as a recording artist.

Great to see/hear you guys have a history together. Warren worked at Andertons? wow.... I could've done that.... haha! (24/7 gear head here) Marvelous episode. What happened to Pete? Can only see his shoes.

It’s spooky seeing you two together, I knew you must have known of each other but I only know Warren from Kingfishers ( and PLAP of course) and Lee from Andertons, so discovering Warren also went to Andertons is a surprise. I remember Warren very well at KF. I often used both stores, but of course KF never kept with the times.

I love these guitars. They look great, which I think is important, because I don't want to play on guitars that don't look great, just like I don't want to wear ugly clothes, no matter how comfortable they are.
And they're so good for the money. I've been thinking about the P90 version, but I needed the money to buy some stuff to get me started with recording. That's when I discovered Produce Like A Pro. I've been addicted to that channel eversince.

That was wonderful. Thanks. Back in the 90’s I used to walk to Andertons to buy strings and ogle the guitars but it didn’t feel comfortable to hang out as a scruffy kid (intimidating-think the Wayne’s world music shop) in so I’d waste time with my mate at Tony Nova’s instead! His place was a shithole though.
I respect Warren and Lee’s attitudes to their day-job professions and their channels. Thanks for sharing, and when I’m back in the ‘Ford I’ll stop by and buy some strings...

Hi Daniel Hoskins thanks ever so much! I understand! I used to look at guitars that my heroes played and only dream that I could own them one day!

Mate, sincerely enjoy both of your channels.
I think you both (along with That Pedal Show) offer me the service of Expat music community, and I’ve learnt more I. The last 5 years than the 30- odd before that.
The stage fright in a music shop has always been worse than on a stage for me.

Produce Like A Pro I know. Silly, as the andertons staff were always so helpful and they even had those booths you could go in.

Some tasty licks there, coming in and going out !!
Hobby - Couple hours a weeks, maybe - but it's in Audacity and MP3 Gain, Music Brainz, and such trying to clean up the "loudness wars" and other industrial stupidity.
Used to work for GRT/Chess/Janus records back in the day. Well before digital. 1" tape was my thing and Ampex was just down the road. Eventually moved along to Eagle tape drives. So I've seen a bit of analog kit. That desk is very, very tasty. And I get why analog is cool on the way in, and then digital works on the way out. All good and well balanced approach. I'll be tuning into Mr Huart's channel now to see what he's up to...
Well done Lee. We need more of your old pals and stories showcasing how the industry has changed and what works :)
