I love how he said Vulfpec don't rehearse, they just prepare and then go for it. No wonder it sound so fresh when they play. I love that - there is space for it to develop each time they play. Very cool
Living proof that rhythm and fitting in the mix is the most important skill as a guitarist.

Cory’s fidget spinner analogy was award winning
My favorite part of this interview is The Captain would ask Cory a question, Cory would pause for a minute, Captain would think, "Oh no, I didn't mean to offend you" then Corey reacts in a way where you know he just wanted to give an honest answer. You could feel Captain sighing in relief lol
Old Man Cory " Get off my porch!" haha. It's my first time coming across Cory, and I'm quite impressed. He knows what he's talking about, and I just gave a listen to his stuff... so good!
I'd pay a decent amount if money to see Cory & Pete jam
Brian James I find Cory hard to listen to. He uses a ton of compression so his playing has no dynamics (which means less feel). Pete would blow him away simply because of that.

Joseph Montgomery You mean you don’t have favorite musicians and artists? Thank you so much for the vacuous cliche, and for missing the point. I’m saying that Cory isn’t as good as people think he is. He uses so much compression that all his notes are the same volume and pick attack, whereas Pete’s playing is so much more dynamic. I don’t think you’d all enjoy them jam as much as you think you would. Jimi and Stevie and B.B. and all the greats didn’t use compression at all or certainly not nearly to that extent, because they got that to play with feel you need to be able to vary the volume and pick attack and bite of each note, which again, Cory’s playing doesn’t do. Using that much compression is basically cheating to not have to develop your right hand as much. He is a fun interview though, so nothing against him personally, but he’d come off as 2-dimensional next to Pete. ✌🏼

Cory is one of the coolest guys out there! Also, it was a great interview. Whenever there's an opportunity to see him live, maybe next year - do it. His solo gig in London was incredible and there's something to what Captain said - it is niche, but the venue was absolutely packed :)
I was in a crowd full of people bobbing their heads in unison to '91 Maxima. Those were the days....a year or two ago.......
Cory seems like the kind of guy to be well hydrated, and discuss hydration often.

What a great player and guy. Inspiring
30:43 Cory plays part of "Airplane Mode". In Live on Mpls (packed with musician jokes and the most fun you can have watching a concert video until Vulfpeck at MSG came out), he plays it as an interlude in "Frogville" around 50 minutes in the video, and it is a sensational rhythm guitar solo! Clean, melodic, funky, awesome.

I live in Mn and got an amazing opportunity to wire up a chandelier made out of Prince's personal drum set. One of the weirdest, but coolest things I ever have gotten a part in.
