@@guitarvibes991 Oh oops I meant wooshed not woodshed lmao. But I think it was very clearly a joke, as people say these kinds of comments all the time just to troll
I used to be a HUUUUGE Satch fan, and this is, no joke, one of my favorite solos I've heard out of him in a long time! The track's more than worthy! Kudos!
Was anyone else sad to hear Cory say he wouldn't be playing guitar solos anymore? I get it, he's great at so many other things (songwriting, being a front man, collabing) and he does not need to do it all, but I'm always looking forward to getting to hear him continue to grow as an improviser. I hope he feels like returning to it someday!
Now we just need Kev G sitting in the background just smiling throughout the whole thing while Petar and Cory go wild and this show will be the dooopest IN THE GAME!!!
Cory, there is nobody like you. Thank you for sharing this level of detail about a single track. And yes, we're all blessed now because Satch didn't phone it in.
The level of intellectual and musical curiosity Cory shows is crazy. It’s why he’s a professional and playing at the level he does. I already liked this song (huge Satch fan) but now I’ll enjoy it at a deeper level.
Of all of my favorite guitar players, Satch is the ONLY one who can play to the " character " of ANY song. I swear. . .I get to hear ( and sometimes transcribe ) so many players when they play on their own albums or even guest star on someone else's material. While there are so many great players out on our planet, Satriani really gets the importance of how soloing can add so much depth to any style of music. Great video!!
WI - gi - gag (n.) - (see also weee-weeee) a sudden, quick, and erratic multi-string pick scrape often preceded by one or more whammy bar dips. Can be interchanged with a weee-weeee.
This video gave me the kind of joy I had listening to Strange Beautiful Music in High school. Satch has that particular weighty tone with that almost subdued wah sound. And that groove you guys laid down is just like stomping through the yard after a rainstorm. So dope.
Cory, Please find space in your catalog for more of the "Dark" stuff :P My favorite track you've ever released solo. Also, seems like a great excuse to goad more guitar legends into solo spots!
WOW WOW WOW ! I’ve been listening to this song all weekend but being able to hear all the stems and individual tracks blew my mind. So F-ing wonderful !!!!
I personally LOVE the ring (as long as it's in control, like here) on the snare! Petar, you're a monster and it's fun to see a bit more of you when not on the kit
The enthusiasm you guys have for music is amazing, it translates into amazing songs. Love it. I had an opportunity to play a custom Warwick Dolphin and that bass just has a magic intensity. In the hands of a beast like Sonny......god damn.
Dude...great song, great collaboration. AND...AND...You BOTH need to do video's together more often, the 2 of you together are absolutely hilarious together !!! Awesome !
hate to disagree Mr. Wong. But this piece is NOT too dark for the Cory Wong catalog. Your versatility IS Authentic Cory Wong. We all have a dark side. MASSIVELY great tune. Congrats on the collab.
16:09 - the wiggigak sounds like a really fast pick scrape up and down along the string - maybe a pick wiggle is a better name -- maybe over a half inch, on the high strings- love this tune. all the best
The bass on this track is literally insane

To be fair, he talks about a whole diminished section that was dropped from the track.
The way you felt when Satchjoe wrote you back, I felt that way in fall 2017 when you wrote me back! That moment changed my life!
you nailed that solo on juke on jelly bro
Vulfpeck war für mich die musikalisch wahrscheinlich inspirierendste Entdeckung meines Lebens.
Danke dafür, Marti! 💚
Someone texting you changed your life?
Dein "Zurück ins Studio" hat mich auch derb in die Funk Scene katapultiert! :D Btw, ich liebe deine Videos!
i emailed Joe a few years ago just to let him know his music helped me change my life and he responded the next day.
9:38 "Bro, I note for note know Master of Puppets"
I'll believe it when I see it Cory. Give us the clean Puppets playthrough asap
This might actually sound really cool with Wongtone
It is time for this playthru
Mr. Wong is really good at presenting and explaining the whole structure. This is a Netflix series right here!

Watching musicians laugh with joy at another musician being awesome is my joy.
I could watch Cory get overwhelmed by soloed bass parts all day long.
Same! It's like Sonny knew they were talking about him and slipped in that little riff right at that moment!

Damn Cory. You deserve all the success man.
Sky is the limit.
Cory is one funny guy, I can't stop laughing from 15:57 onwards when he was so mind blown by Satch guitar playing lol....very entertaining

So DAT’s dat wigigag.
Typically also involves a 3rd fret harmonic with a wammy pull and a pitch shifter. Dimebag used it all the time in Pantera.

I hope that you’ll make a “Dark Wong” album one day! There is a lot of great music that you are denying right now ;)
let s talk about the cory producing part. Just unmatched.
I love the fact that even great musicians like cory wong have the same fun as us "bad" guitar players in the studio. goofing around is the best
