- This is a side by side comparison of Burnout Revenge for the Playstation 2 (running on PCSX2 emulator), original Xbox (running on Xemu) and Xbox 360 (running on Xenia). Enjoy my video, and give a like if you approve of my work.

The color grading isn’t off on 360 because of emulation, it just looks like that. The developers went a little overboard when they got their hands on more powerful hardware 😅
that bloom effect in mid 2000 games sure aged poorly
yup, also the extreme use of motion blur in the xb360 version.
That bloom was already awful even back in the day.
@@31leoceara can't agree, I always turned on bloom back in the day, it looked fresh and added cinematic effect xD
Every late 2000 game used a ton of bloom and muddy earth tones to look gritty and next gen😂

Awesome comparison again! In my opinion, if you want the best graphics quality (via emulation) I think the XB360 is where it's at, but from the looks of things the PCSX2 version seems more fluid (probably due to that solid 60fps).
60 fps always helps 😀👍
I wish you could tone down the bloom and the over saturaturation of colors in xb360 version, then It would've been perfect!
Just look at the ground and road in the footage, you can hardly make out a lot of details due to what also looks like an exaggerated motion blur effect.
@@nicoful86 The bloom is the biggest culprit imho. But yes, you're right about the over-saturation as well.
x360 has too much poop filter. ps2 wins by actually having less effects, looks so clean
The xbox version looks absolutely horrible imo
It seems like it's missing some blur and bright effects on PCSX2.
Despite of that, i think it's the best because of the performance.

It's overbright on Xemu, so the effects are wrong there.
Nope Xenia runs at 60fps
I don't know what you're talking about, but I'm using the latest Xenia Canary and the in-race and menu music absolutely does not work.
It's a whole saga related to incomplete audio decompression support in the emulator.
Three is a great soundtrack to this game. As far as I saw when running the 360 ISO on Xenia...that still does not work. There is supposed to be music while you are driving. If that works for you then please explain.
Are you running master build or canary build?
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 Downloaded master build today to try it. Now just tried canary...same thing. There is music between races and such, but the main core soundtrack is missing while driving. From what I can gather through searching online, it's been a long time this way

@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 prove that. There are no configurations to mess with. I launched it, tried it. No way in a million years does it work. And your video does nothing to prove otherwise. I think you may misunderstand which music we are talking about. You even call out they don't say that the music is working, I am pretty sure you don't have the music working. 'It worked for me' helps me in no way. There is no emulator that can do the music man.
@@TheDood71you're absolutely right. He even asks which Xenia you're using as if that mattered. It doesn't even matter which version of Xenia you're using. The songs don't work on either version
x360 presentation and race intro sucked compared to old gen versions. However the graphics sure did look better albeit the excessive bloom.
Post processing effects are broken on pcsx2 as well in hardware mode. You can immediately notice this if you switch to software mode or compare it with actual ps2 hardware. The lack of those effects does make the game look kinda dated.
wish there was a mod to change the awful chase camera in those games.
There is bugs you haven't tested yet on Xemu, split screen for example doesn't work properly until player 2 crashes
Then it goes back to normal
A game I really liked but that I don't go back to because of one flaw, shared with NFS The Run: Why didn't they have a free mode in the game? Just pick any track, car, set whether you want traffic (and cops, in NFS).. for NFS, with the graphics engine, I think we could have even had a weather and time of day option.. Would have been awesome.
it wasnt an open world racing game. just accept that maybe?
@@imabebebebe2496 I didn't mean open world, I meant free mode.
Like, you pick one of the existing tracks, one of the existing cars, and drive with a custom configuration. Do you want to race in the early simple tracks with the fastest cars? Or a race in a long track with a lot of laps, but in the starter cars? Do you want traffic? How many opponents? Stuff like that.
But you couldn't do that in this game (and Need for Speed The Run). You were limited to the specific events they had created for you.
The Run had some extra events in arcade mode, but Burnout didn't have any extra options like that. Maybe for online? But I already dislike playing a more standard racing game online, never mind a Burnout game, as much as I like their single player. I imagine online must be like playing a public lobby in GTA.

It's definitely not perfect on Xemu. Runs at half the framerate.
it runs full speed on xemu. he put the resolution too high and his pc is trash...
pcsx2 have stable fps but somehow it frame little bit, Xemu is no better than PCSx2, although Xenia is low fps, but it look like have bloom effect
watched countless video on each one and can’t figure out why i can’t get the emulator to work 😢
Have you ever gotten any game to work on Xemu?
what xenia version is this one because the latest one glitches the graphics and in game is black screen but not in menus except the weapon select menu
Wrong game? No weapons in burnout.
@@ColdSoldier02 meant vehicle select menu and was prolly lit like a kite that day...

The PS2 version wins for very simple reasons... no annoying bloom effects, well-designed models, and 60 fps !!! puff...
I’d argue the original Xbox version is the best. On original hardware though, I just emulate the PS2 version on my steam deck
@@so-vp2qh Maybe it's true that the PS2 version left some things on the way, but by polishing the final product I think it achieved something better than all the others... something beautiful, simple, beautiful and above all an efficient product that thanks Its qualities make it even more enjoyable in emulators, such as PCSX2... in short, everything you expect from a classic driving arcade.
PS2 version is Legendary but XBOX360 is superior because of resolution replay mode & damage on cars. For gameplay i cant say anything because i didnt play it yet! Unfortunatly!
@@gamedayone Yes, in fact the Xbox 360 version was technically superior, being a more modern machine. However, the good results of the PS2 version and the feeling of fluidity that it transmits in its gameplay are quite surprising, perhaps that is why it is highly appreciated, taking into account the age of this hardware.

Sun Glare on PCSx2 is now finally fixed on all Burnout Games
if sun glare is the only issue with pcsx 2, then I believe that isn't too much of an issue as everything else seems to run fine and added on the perfect 60fps compared to the other two, it looks way more smooth to run compared to both the xbox versions
so long story short, play on pcsx 2
Sun glare is fixed now with the latest versions by turning on autoflush and CLUT ti 1 (normal) in Hardware fixes
