  • The Sprinter 7 is one of my favorite products in the store and I realized I never made a dedicated video showing just how nice it is. This lift is he lift of choice for the Helen garage, and it has proven to be just as nice as it was in the Giveaway Garage we did a few years back. We have specced a lot of these for client garages and believe it to be the nicest option for a small footprint lift that can be recessed or surface mounted. It just looks too good and operation is fantastic.

    I assume there is no concrete thickness requirement for this application, beyond what normal garages have? I believe two-posts do need a minimum due to the load being concentrated in a small area.

    There is a 120v (20 amp) option, that is how you guys ordered mine.

    That's pretty cool. I have a lift for my motorcycle. Why not a car/truck? Saves on the back for sure.

    It certainly doesn't move easily, but it is portable enough for a real man. I don't have enough space for a permanent lift location, so I move mine around my garage depending on what I'm doing.
    I still have the goal of a real shop someday, with a two post and a full size flush mounted scissor lift...but in the meantime this has been a great solution for me. It is far superior to using jackstands, or even something like Quickjacks. Detailing, tire swaps, brake and suspension work, oil changes, etc are so much easier. It would be a bit of a pain, but you could swap an exhaust under one of these and even pull an engine/trans if you get creative.
    Now we just need Vyper to create a super low creeper seat so I can roll around underneath.

    Beautiful lift but those connecting beams would be a terrible trip hazard or would stop any seat or mechanics pad if you need to do any work underneath. Hope they fix this in the future the finish and quality of this lift is amazing

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  Год назад +2

      They are there due to this being a "portable lift."

    • @jeffc6832
      @jeffc6832 Год назад +1

      It is a trip hazard, no doubt...but there is no other way to build a portable lift like this that doesn't need to be bolted down. I have a small garage and having this in the 3rd stall is a bit of an inconvenience...but it beats not having it at all.
      Access underneath varies depending on the vehicle, but I can access anything under the engine/trans and front/rear suspension on my E70 X5d without the cross bars getting in the way. I have to crawl over them to do a full exhaust, but it still beats doing it under jackstands.
      It's not for everyone, but if you need a portable lift or have limited height...it's a great solution.

    When dropping a engine or doing exhaust work do you recommend the nussbaum jumbo HF 7 or do you need to get a 2 post instead

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  Год назад +1

      I think it depends on how often you'd be doing that. Once or twice, I'd rather have a scissor for the rest of the time. Doing it often, 2 post.

    • @littledetails
      @littledetails Год назад +2

      He explains that it is on the second story so they cannot recess it into the concrete, but since they concrete anchored everything to the floor, in theory they could have cut out or removed the swiss tracks where the ramp and lift are sitting and placed the unit directly on the concrete, possibly removing the need to for the ramps. Jason's question is still valid.

    • @timkinley1779
      @timkinley1779 Год назад

      Recess what part? Just the extensions? The ramps? If just the extensions were recessed, you'd have a raw concrete area when the lift is raised.
